My Dad collects sea shells, or used to. It’s fairly common, but there’s a bit of a shady side, with people collecting endangered species alive, 'cos the shells are likely to be in much better condition killing the critter living in them, then passing them off as ‘picked up on the beach’… As well as straight up smuggling to get round CITES.
Less blurfy today, though still no idea what’s triggering my skin to fall off.
Gets very tiresome having to explain to everyone that no, I didn’t have an accident, I just scratched all my skin off in my sleep. Then of course, everyone has to explain to me how bad it looks (because clearly I’d have no idea otherwise) and suggest a ‘cure’ that they read about somewhere. Sure, medical science hasn’t come up with anything better than a temporary palliative, but if I just gave up dairy/gluten/chocolate/breathing for a few months and bathed in pure organic Himalayan octarine salt (blessed by a llama, only £45 for 500g!) while chanting sutras backwards, I’d be cured in only the same length of time it’d take for the flare up to end normally![/rant]
I’m closer, & the rain has moved out, & it’s sunny & in the 60°s. I could make full benefit of the car today. I also didn’t need to fill up my tank yesterday, something which I did on Fri, Sat, & Sun; part of 1000 miles in two weeks.

Day is winding down. The server has been a first-class bitch today - I’ve spent a lot of time twiddling my thumbs waiting for things to happen. But I got a big pile of crap off my desk, so I count it as a win. I’ve got some little things I can piddle with till quit time. Soooo ready for today to be over.
No amount of stretching or yoga will turn me into a ferret.
Just as well, then we’d have three critters racing around the house.

I posted a rant about people giving me quack cures for my migraines that somehow ended with me agreeing to go see a hypnotist, which I did not do and have no intention of doing. :smack: I hate it. Really, really hate quack cures.
Nut, what about socks on the hands whilst sleeping? More cooperative than Mooom’s rabbits I would think. I suppose the socks might still hurt when you tried to scratch. I was thinking they’d stop further damage at least. And blow into them while reciting your favorite nursery rhyme three times.

The furnace repair guys caught up with us - $269 for the control board and relay replacement. Dammit. And now there’s another issue. Still it’s got to be cheaper than replacing the whole unit.
And the truck seemed fine on the ride home, so I shouldn’t have to take the Porsche. Whew! I miss my Sonata!
Old Man Schnauzer’s anesthetic wore off about 2:30 this morning. He spent the rest of the night trying to lick himself. I spent the rest of the night holding his head to stop him from licking himself. Somewhere around 7:00 I fell asleep. :eek:
He’s back at the vet’s getting sewn back together.

OK, somebody 'splain this to me. I’ve gone to 3 different sites for driving directions to see how long it should take **FCD **to drive home. Ive gotten times from just under 14 hours to something over 15 hours. Our GPS says just a bit over 13 hours.
Really?? They’re all the same route, none are the route he took to get there, since he stopped at his aunt’s enroute. Anyone know which site, if any, is the most accurate?
Daughter just called - she just realized that she’s in her third trimester. C’mon baby!! About 12 weeks to go. We’re thinking they’ll move here in mid-May.
Well, the TV is DOA. I checked for software updates last night (there were none) and my friend couldn’t get it to do anything today. Oh well. I’m up to S1E13 of Criminal Minds. It’s interesting. I didn’t begin watching it until season 4 and even Ion doesn’t show anything before that.
Been a “First World Problems” kind of week. 2 hours of confrence calls yesterday, the win pushed a shopping cart into my car and made a hella dent in the door, and I got company on Thursday. Hockey at least isn’t sucking…yet.
