Dinner will be from Divine Pizza - a mom-n-pop pizza place about 5 minutes from here. They deliver, but I figure I’ll save the tip, since the owner is the delivery guy.
I can’t cook because we have a massive leak under the sink, and hubby has to stop on the way home and get parts. He ain’t a happy camper when he has to put on his plumber’s hat, especially when he’s already worked a 12 hour day. Poor baby.
Happy silverTaterversary!! I’m not sure if it’s belated or not, though. Sorry if it is!
Sending healing thoughts to TomKitten; sorry he’s still feverish, LiLi. Taters, I hope your son’s wrist is okay!
Well, I’ve been without Internet and cable since around midnight last night, until just after 6 PM tonight. I did not go in with the snow we got (around 8 inches), even with the delay, because it’s just too much for me on public transit. I’ll go in tomorrow, but via taxi cab, probably. So here I was at home all day and couldn’t watch tv or surf the 'net! LOL I did read a bit though.
I’m home! OK, I’ve been home for an hour and change, but still.
Happy belated Taterversary!
Hope TomKitten feels better soon, also BooFae and TatersSon! Hope I’m not forgetting anyone.
Dinner - the first course, at least - was ice cream (bananas & honey, goat cheese & cognac figs, black coffee). Yummmmm. Now I’m having tea to make up for the cold.
We have no new snow, but are supposed to get an inch or so overnight.
Now it’s off to chat with Mom - she finally has phone again - and then knit for a while.
I ate at Papadocshoweveryouspellit once, it was good!
One of the guys from Costing told me that he had a question for me yesterday. He says he’ll email it, and hasn’t done so yet, so I figure it can’t be anything terribly serious buuuuut… it’s Costing! Anybody know a good lawyer? Not sure if I need a criminalist or a business-law one, maybe one with experience in both. I mean: it’s Costing! I just do whatever they tell me to do, on the two, count them, two points where we touch, so why are they a bigger pain in the neck than everything I do “internally”?
Because us evil ones have opted for lateral reproduction.
Guess I’ll have to go in to work today - I’m taking it slow and easy, though, because it’s below freezing and we’re getting another dusting of snow, plus probably what melted yesterday has re-frozen. So, take it very slowly! I guess I’ve got a bit of cabin fever, though, because I’m actually -ready- to get out of the house. Not exactly ready to get back to work, mind you, but ready to get out of here.
Hope everyone has a good day today, and sending healing thoughts to those who need them. BooFae, that includes you!
Aww,** LiLi**, I’m sorry he’s sick. Take care of yourself as well as him.
I’m off work until Wednesday. Yay!!! Brother is in Cincinnati today and tomorrow, so I can get messy stuff done without worrying about being in his way.
Off to the coffehouse to knit and sip coffee for a bit.
On Monday while I was heading home from TVLand I stopped at a Wendy’s drive-thru and ordered some food. I pulled forward and waited until the car in front of me left. At that point, I simultaneously attempted to put my car in 1st and smelled a strong burning smell. That was all she wrote. Fortunately, even though I thought it was the clutch, it probably wasn’t because I still had reverse but no other gears. I was able to back up out of line and then I called a tow truck.
My dad got another car about 3-4 months ago so he left his convertible at our house. I managed to get it out of the yard and I noticed that there was some mousie poo so I just got out the vacuum and took care of it. I didn’t, however, open up the trunk until yesterday morning when I was getting ready to take a lunch delivery. At that point, I found a lovely nest made of car insulation(?). Well, my mom was going with me to deliver so we decided just to take her car because I didn’t have time to clean out the nest.
Before we left I took her over to show her the nest because I thought it was funny. Because I had driven this car far and wide in the past couple of days, I certainly was NOT expecting Mr. Mouse to be peeking up at me out of the nest! Yet, there he was. At this point I freaked out and slammed the trunk and we took off to go deliver lunch.
When we got back home I enlisted my grandparents to help me clean out the trunk. Mr. Mouse was nowhere to be found. Just to be safe, though, we put out the no-kill traps that I had purchased. This morning I had a breakfast to deliver and I took a flashlight out to the car with me and hesitantly peered in the trunk. The trap seemed to have moved a little bit, but it was empty. It was hard to tell what might have happened, though, because who knows what the movement of me shutting the trunk lid might have done. So, I pulled the trap out and pulled off the back cover and lo and behold… All the peanut butter was gone!
I decided at this point to drive my grandpa’s truck to deliver breakfast and I took the useless traps back and got some real ones. They’re set up in the trunk right now as we speak. I feel really bad because I certainly didn’t want to kill Mr. Mouse, but I also do not want him running up my pant leg as I drive!
Poor Tom Kitten and LiLi. And Mr. Lissar too. Hope Tom Kitten gets better soon.
Happy belated Taterversary!
Sorry about the car troubles sticky. Understandable that Mr. Mouse has to go.
I can’t remember if I said here that Mom is convinced that I’m going to be murdered while skiing since last time I went with the meetup group, it ended up being just me and an older guy (older like probably 70). I went again last night and told them that my mother is sure that Jim (the nice older guy) is a serial killer, and they all thought it was hilarious since he so very obviously would not hurt a fly. I know it’s a mother’s job to worry, but really. It’s a very busy place with a ton of people skiing around on well lit paths. Am I seriously not supposed to go anywhere without KT? Ugh.
