It's Monday Somewhere - a pointless MMP

Good/bad day.

It’s Firday - good.

I’m home - good.

My last CD arrived today - good.

**FCD **may not get home till Tuesday - bad bad bad. He’s stuck in the desert with a bunch of guys whose idea of fun is sitting around a bar drinking.

Daughter is going out tonight, so it’s just me and the critters. rah.

Congrats on the kids still being alive LiLi!

taxi my mam is the same. I just roll with it now. Texting pictures of the armed military guards escorting us around posing with machine guns to her when I was in Nigeria possibly didn’t help.

It is Friday - Yay!
I am trying to do taxes - Boo!

This year I am hoping amongst hope that I meet the number of residency days required to be taxed as a resident in the US or else we are scre-ee-ee-wed!

On the plus side the longest week ever is over! It is Friday! Yay!

: wanders off as she has been distracted by something shiny :

Well, my sweetie absolutely won’t be home before Tuesday at the earliest. This sucks. I’m going to go watch TV and pout.

:frowning:

Aww, sorry about FCD not getting home until Tuesday, MOOOM. I’ll send you a nice bowl of your moose tracks ice cream if that’s any consolation.

I did NOT make it in today; it was too icy outside still. :frowning: I’m going to try to get out at least once over the weekend. I really don’t like winter, especially when it’s wintry weather; it’s very hard for me to get around. :frowning:

In other news, I must agree with Swampy: meeces must be stopped! Seriously, StickyBuns, you’re right, you don’t want Mickey running down your pants leg!!!

I swiped the General’s dinner tonight, so don’t tell him if he’s looking for it. There is enough in there to feed three people, too! I can’t eat that much!! At least there’ll be leftovers.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Sorry about FCD not getting to come home, FCM. That stinks!

Yay for interviews, Spaz!

Yes, car trunks are not appropriate places for mouse nests. Hope he’s found a new home by now, Sticky, preferably far away from you.

I’ve been a very good girl. Spent the afternoon sorting through a bunch of stuff that needed to be filed, shredded, etc. I really have way too much paper. So I’m going through everything and pitching all kinds of statements and such that I really don’t have to keep.

Now I’m going to take a knitting break, and crawl into bed so that I can finish up in the morning. Tomorrow is going to be mostly fun, I think, although I’d like to clean both the bathroom and the kitchen.

Hugs.

GT

had Benihana for dinner with friends. The local hibachi place is about the same price but, it’s quieter, the parking is better, they have kareoke. So I think I’ll stick with the local one.

Sorry about FCD. Pouting is the right reaction.

Better night but Tom Kitten is feverish and mega cranky this morning. Sigh.

That was fun.

And swampy, i did have a draft with my draft.

TOO. MUCH. WHITE. STUFF. ON. THE. GROUND/ROADS/PARKING LOTS! bleh

Heading out to the dog park with the aminals. It’s 65° and sunny here.

::laughs maniacally::

Ahem. Sorry. I can’t control that bitch sometimes…

Up…at 'em!

Hope TomKitten gets better as the day progresses, LiLi!

Am continuing to declutter/file and shred. Wheeeeeee!!!

Good morning. I’ve been up and at 'em awhile now. I had 'puter issues, but I’ve fixed them enough to run my computer for now. I’ll have to have my daughter’s sweetie take a look at it.

In just a bit here, I’m going to have to rub my pork down, sear it and then toss it in the slow cooker with some onions, brown sugar, cider vinegar, dry mustard, ketchup and assorted other things. I’m going to make pulled pork today.

Yes, I know smoker or oven would be better, but this is easier, and today it’s all about easy. And actually, my pulled pork always, always gets raves, so I must do something right.

It’s kind gray and dreary looking right now. I haven’t checked the weather, so I don’t know what it’s supposed to do.

Our friends are coming over this evening to eat and then we’re going to see a movie. That’s the plan anyway.

I suppose I should get moving on tidying up too.

Good Mornin’ Y’all I’ve been up for a while. We had brekkies, gourmands that we are, at that fine dining establishment well-known for its haute cuisine, Three Squares Diner. We both had biiiiiiiiig ham 'n cheese omelets (that ain’t spelled right, I think), grits and bizkits. We’s stuffded. Then, while we were out, we went to  Wally*World  for stuff.

doggio I’ll bet there was more than one draft with your draft.

MOOOOOOM boo on FCD not gettin’ to come home until Tuesday.

LiLi glad TomKitten seems a little better.

I have steaks marinatin’. JDD and Partner are comin’ over later this afternoon to hang out and we shall grill steaks. I plan on friggin’ good N.O.T., grilled asparagus, a sallit and cheesey bread also. JDD is bringin’ us a dessert. As he put it, “don’t know what but it shall be sweet and desserty.” With him it could be anything from a homemade cheesecake to a store bought package of cinnamon rolls. Seriously. One never knows! They’re bringin’ some wine too and they do good with wine, so if dessert is lackin’, the wine selection shall make up for it I’m sure.

Plusalso, just so I cannot be accused of bein’ all slovenly and slothlike, I have a load of towels washin’.

It’s 50 degrees Amurrkin out and sunny. Really nice!

Later Y’all!

So here I am at the McMinnville Farmers Market. I brought my little netbook just in case and voila! they have an unsecured network! I’ll prolly have to keep an eye on the netbook though. They tend to walk away iffen you aren’t careful. :dubious:

Happy Anniversary Taters. Doggio’s right, you don’t look old enough.

I think I remember some Birthdays back there, but I’m too lazy to go look, so Happy Birthday Whoever!

Sorry bout the sick Lili. Hope he gets better forthwith.

Nuttin Else to report. Waiting for the buttermilk biscuits to appear for biscuits an’ gravy.

There’s good food at this market.

Busy busy morning. I cleaned the peed upon dining room carpet again. Turns out last time I “cleaned” it, the detergent dispenser was clogged so all I did was rinse it. Yet it sucked up bubbles - I guess there was residue. Anyway, that’s done. Then daughter and I went to breakfast at Bob’s, where our usual server, Vicki, asked about FCD. I like Vicki - she knows we do Diet Cokes and we like to-go cups. And she know she gets a big tip, because I’m nice, dammit!

I had to mail FCD’s meds to him - freekin’ $18.30 to get them to Yuma by Monday. Then I ran by WalMart for some critter supplies, some cleaning stuff, and I don’t know what else - $70-ish dollars. Next stop was Petco to get an engraved tag for Scruffy. Now she’s good. And last stop at Lowe’s - I was looking for Zep, but they didn’t have it - was I supposed to get it at Home Depot?

Once I got home, I dumped salt into the water for the aquarium - it’s currently mixing and warming so I can do a water change later. Shortly, I will empty the dining room and spray down the carpet with a pet stain-and-odor remover in the hopes that it’ll stop Cozmo from hiking his leg in there all the time. Stoopit dog. Daughter is playing volleyball with her peeps right now, but she’ll be home eventually.

No doubt about it - Tea for the Tillerman is my absolutely favorite Cat Stevens album. And Father and Son is my favorite song on that album. It took me back to San Diego in 1974. I was dating Mike. He introduced me to the album and that song - said it reminded him of the relationship he had with his dad. That made me sad… I wonder what became of Mike? Last I spoke to him was in 1980-ish.

**Taters **- what cut of pork to you use to make your pulled pork?

Happy Saturday, all!

FCM, I usually use butt, but today I had to use a blade roast.

I know some people prefer to use loin, but really, the butt and even the blade produces beautiful results and isn’t all dried out in texture and taste. The fat adds to the flavor, and any hunks left are pulled out by me when I shred the meat.

Time to tidy up now.

Back from the walk-in clinic with a prescription for antibiotics and a need for chocolate.

It’s warm here! It’s above -10C! Which is practically shorts weather!

Well, that was fun. I just vacuumed my keyboard - it was full of cat hair! I shouldn’t have been surprised.

I got another W2 in the mail today. I forgot that when FCD was out for surgery, he got short-term disability pay. Crap. Now I have to do an amended return. My fault for being too efficient, I guess.

Just thought I’d pop in to say it’s 72 degrees Amurrkin outside and sunny! Just beeyootiful! Thus we have been out on the back porch lollin’ about. AHHHHH!

JDD and Partner will be over in a bit. We shall enjoy cocktails and horsedoin’s outside by the pool just cause we can. I guess cheese and crackers counts as horsedoin’s.

Ok, off to slice some cheese. Personally I see nuttin’ wrong with just havin’ everybody whack off a hunk o’ cheese but I’ve been told it’s not polite not to have the cheese sliced and artfully arranged upon a tray. Some people are just so persnickity!

It’s not enough that there’s a soccer tournament this weekend, but some lady who lives in town decided that her overprivileged under-twelve bratchild needed to have a hotel pool party for her birthday with all her rowdy friends on top of that. And when she found out there was a soccer tournament in town, she seemed way too interested. I kind of hate to tell her that she shouldn’t encourage her daughter & co to flirt with all the soccer players because most of them are girls. Unless they’re into that kind of thing.

I warned Detailed AGM before I left because I know how much he absolutely adores overprivileged bratchild birthdays. Really, they’re his favorite thing.

I just found a tiny spider in my hair.
