Judging by the pics, the mudding is already happening… What? Oh, not that kind of mud? Looks very cool, actually.
What am I Spats? Chopped liver? (That’s OK. I don’t mind. I can live with invisible pixels. Really. I don’t feel excluded at all. No need to apologize. Honest.)
It’s Ashes!!! Hi Ashes!!! You are not allowed to be tired. Everyone in the MMP is to be energetic and try to outdo the other MMPers. It’s a rule! Which I’m currently breaking.
I’m half-watching Pride and Prejudice, surfing a bit and then going to edit some flower pics (since Puggy asked so nicely). I like to take pictures along the way since stuff looks quite different when it’s just planted and once it’s really established. Also, I’ve got lots and lots planned for this summer and I want to record the progress. I’m kind of doing the opposite of what gotti’s doing. My main goal is to reduce the amount of lawn to a minimum. I’d like to be able to mow with a nice non-motorized mower. We’ll see how long that takes. I’ll post links after a while…
gotti, add me to the list of people who want to see pics of your renovation.
Oooh…ringtones…hate 'em. We were in a meeting this afternoon and someone’s phone rang - outside the conference room - with a really obnoxious tune. They were apparently away from their phone; it rang twice and no one seemed to pick it up. My phone is mostly set to stun. I’ve learned not to jump when it rings, though.
Apparently I was abducted by aliens today and said, “yes” when my manager called to ask if I could work extra tomorrow. Either that, or I was looking at the $1000+ plumber’s bill…anyhoo, am going in for 6 hours tomorrow–which really screws up my tomorrow, but. I wish I could make the whole $1000 tomorrow, but I am not that well paid.
See, if it were still 90+ effing degrees out, I may well have said yes to the whole 12. But now it is nice out–perfect gardening weather and my garden needs weeding badly, and I need to finish some planting. Bummer.
Tomorrow is #1 son’s 8th grade grad dance #2–this one at the country club. If memory serves, my daughter had about 5 of these shindigs–all for meeting the most minimal of educations. (yes, I’m jealous as hell–I never got all this. I’m the Red Skelton of moms).
He is sure to look darned cute in his suit. 2 girls called him today. Oy.
Better to be completely overlooked than to get second billing…<sob>
My public! Next stop Hollywood Squares or the dreaded info-mercial…
(must read whole thread before posting)
Cool wheel ,FCM! You should make an offical MMP Beer Stein with that.
Welcome back Ashes[sup]2[/sup]! i’m glad you still have your member.
I don’t know anyone famous, except me(sort of). When I did my cartoons daily I had tens of fans. What does that make me, Z-list?
Yay FCM!!! :D:D:D:D
The temperature outside has dropped a bit, but the temperature in here is still hot and sticky. I think it’ll cool down overnight.
I was not working tonight. I am working tomorrow, though, so I had all the fun of arranging my day around work quite unecessarily. Bah.
Must put pizza away. We agreed that it was too hot to think about cooking. Lots of leftovers for breakfast tomorrow!
Also, we finally got all our wedding pics- the photographer had the bad taste to go and get lung cancer (Mr. Lissar’s godfather) and he’s recovered and has given us a cd with all of them. I’ll be putting them up as soon as our 'puter is fully healed.
Ya know, if you do cartoons daily for us, your fan base will probably expand beyond the tens…
OK…they’re not in exactly the order I wanted, but here’s a starter set of pictures from my garden. I can’t look at them too much, because all I keep seeing is: MORE WORK. Still gotta finish the beds. Mulch the side and back of the house. Clear out the back - next to and behind the garage. Edge all the beds with pavers and create a couple of paths. De-weed the remaining lawn. Patch and paint the front steps. Re-do the driveway (long-term I want pavers and strips of grass in the middle and on the edges. Then there’s new siding and trim and gutters and probably a roof. Not happening this year, though. Argggghhhhhhh.
::Says healing prayer for the Lissars’ computer. ::
Ashes, Taters, and gardentraveler, don’t feel bad. I’ll charge you guys only $10 bucks for my autograph.
The most famous person I’ve met was Dr. Jack Kevorkian. He sat down and ate at McDonalds with my dad and myself.
I saw Ana Kournikova at the mall once. She was with Sergei Fedorov. As fine as she is in print, she’s THAT much hotter in real life. I mean…that much…THAT much hotter.
rarrrr
I didn’t miss you Senor Autobus Muchacho, I was just waiting for you so I could extend a once-in-a-lifetime, super awesome deal that you simply must take advantage of right this instant.
Are you ready for it?
My autograph. $5.
That’s it. I can see that you’re completely stoked and that you’re besides yourself.
Please…don’t wet yourself with giddyness.
…um…did you believe it? cause…you know…you should have!
Alright LOUNE, get over yourself already. You made the list because it was as many Cool Kids as I could recall off the top of my head in 2 minutes.
Okay, today I have to do the following things:
-Go to the Solomon Smith Barney office with my grandfather, since that didn’t happen yesterday.
-Drive to the TickTock Diner in Clifton to have lunch with my high school English teacher.
-Start packing and doing laundry for my departure on Saturday morning. I still have to look up weight and size limits for the luggage.
I know it doesn’t sound like much, but this is going to be a very busy day for me. But for now, a pun. Today we return briefly to the dictionary format as I begin a series of weapon-based puns:
gt your containers and yard are lovely! I’m not familiar with tree peonies, what a great idea! The regular kind always fall over. And last night I was watching Jeopardy (a recorded one) and the $2,000 in the “O” category was four-o’clocks! They had a picture and none of the contestants even rang in. Pathetic.
FCM – Wow! I love the pot with the pointy lid! You’re getting me interested in pottery. I have no wheel, but I do have a kiln.
I love all the “I know a famous person” stories. My former husband went to high school with Tom Cruise, not that that’s anything to brag about these days. He has a yearbook with his picture. One of my college roommates went out with him, when he was about 14! I’ve never met George Clooney, but I have met his parents! He’s from Kentucky, and his dad ran for the U.S House last year.
Hurricane season? already? feh! Why can’t we just have nice weather all year long? My definition of nice weather is sunny blue skies, maybe a few puffy happy clouds to watch roll by, temps between 68 and 80, humidity never more than 75%, and it only rains (because rain is important) between 2 am and 6 am (which reminds me - I gotta call the sprinkler guy)
Morning. Well, almost afternoon but I didn’t get to sleep until 5:30 or so, so it’s morning for me.
gt, your garden is lovely. When I have become ridiculously wealthy I will hire you as my gardener, and FCM as my Cool Pottery Stuff person. I will fly both of you in and feed you chocolate. [SUB]You may have to wait quite a while, offer valid only on Thursdays, and I may be making my money from a Nigerian scam.[/SUB]
It’s slightly less hot, so today I will do something other than lie around moaning about the weather. Cooking and cleaning for the weekend and my 12-hour stint at retail, whee!
