It's the MDMMP!! (Memorial Day Monday Morning Post...Fool!)

Shiny new name…yay, SCL.

rigs, :frowning: on the additional dialogue. You deserve better.

Tatoo story doesn’t ring true to me either.

Boo on the computer troubles yesterday, LiLi. Dell clearly doesn’t understand that accessing the internet is a necessity.

I’m all sore and stiff this morning (not a big surprise), but my flowers look all purty. Remaining containers will be done today. Yay!

Well, gotta go move a few plants (I kinda left a mess in front of the garage yesterday and don’t want them to burn in the lovely weather today…)

GT

New grill!!! I love grilly foods. ::nudges closer to Taters::

On a side note, I am now eligible for sick days and holiday pay. My last check had my first 3 point something hours of sick time, and this next check will have my six point something hours of free pay from yesterday! Sixty something free dollars in my pocket! (I’ll probably just tell them to put it in my stock, but still, it’s free virtual money.)

Man, FCM, you’re too darn productive. If I let the wife read your posts she’ll start thinhking that I should be flinging drywall and sheetrock and what-not around. Take a break, relax a little.

I didn’t post yesterday because I was digging holes and then eating food at the grandparent’s house and then finxing my durn puter, which decided that last night was the night to commit suicide.

On Saturday, however, I had one of those perfect days. Everyone left the house, the wife to a friend’s, the kids to thier friends, leaving just me and the mutt and some cold beer and a couple of books. I say out in the hammock with a cooler of beer, some sammiches, and read and napped and read some more. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. hhh. hhhhhhhh.

welby somehow, I don’t think welbywife would want you near any drywall.

rosie hope you’re feeling better soon. Adjusting to a new med is no fun at all.

Ok, I’m gettin’ myself all cleaned up here (well, not right now, as soon as I finish this post) so I can get on the road to Sarasota and work. WHEE! I’ll be kinda out of touch for a few days but I should be able to check in a time or three to say howdy and catch up and stuff.

Have a nice rest of the week y’all! Bye!

If we don’t start getting some rain here soon, you’re gonna have to pick another state. It’s not funny, but they actually had a lower attendance at the beach yestidy because there are so many brush fires that half of the roads over are closed.

You know, I actually considered discussing our fallen heros as the OP but I was afraid I would open old wounds for somebody so I did not. I just didn’t know whether it was a good idea. See, there’s nobody in my family who has even been wounded while in the service. I find that extraordinarily lucky.

swampy, drive careful and watch out for smoke.

More later.

Tupug

Hi y’all. Made it back from my trip back home. Eight hours up, and 7 hours back.

But otherwise, I got nuthin’.

Have a good trip, swampy. I hope today is better for Dorothy, and rigsy.

Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down, Swampio.

Bye swampy! Have a good time!

Well, I have never noticed anybody yearning for me when I’m not around, either–so let’s just say we secretly pine for those absent, and rejoice in the presence of all, shall we?

My weekend was characterized by allergies. I know, you’re all sick of me whining about my sniffles, but this year seems to be a banner year, pollen-wise. And I have this little imp otherwise known as my 20-month-old darling baby Cherry, who loves to be outdoors. So I spent most of Sunday outside with him at my mother’s, where he poured water into planters, into containers, on us … while I slowly poured a great deal of myself, mucus-wise, into a kleenex box. I kid you not: I blew my nose through an entire box of kleenex. Woe is me.

Anyway, gardening is pretty much out, though that’s what I longed to do! I have Big Plans for my back yard, which is something of a gardening challenge. We back up to a neighborhood green space, but our actual yard is pretty small. So I’m dreaming up landscaping that will incorporate the green space without actually intruding upon it. It’s a challenge. Add to that the apparent necessity we’re going to have for some type of swing-set or climbing apparatus for the above-mentioned imp, whose vocabulary currently consists of “MAMA!!!” (sort of his all-purpose alarm bell) and “ow-sigh,” which is, of course, “outside.”

Ah Choo!

Oh and tates, I think I have your exact grill! Is it a JennAire? We got ours on sale, hmmm, about last December or January, and have yet to use it. It has the rotisserie too, and I have been dreaming of slow-cooking a whole brace of plump chickens at once.

Final note: We had burgoo for dinner last night. A cookie to the first person who knows what it is (without Googling). We’re on the honor system, here.

Kentucky chili. Duh…
Didn’t Google it. I Wikipediaed instead…

Morning, everyone! I didn’t check in yesterday because I’m lazy. And I forgot it was Monday, really. And now just reading what you all did makes me tired.

My weekend consisted of going to see X Men 3 on Friday night, a quick trip to Target on Sunday evening because I was bored, and a walk yesterday just to have something to do. The rest of the time was spent alternately watching tv, reading, and napping. Good times.

Welcome to the new cool kids–trouble, that’s really cool about your brother, hope you guys get together soon. I don’t have any long-lost family members. That I know of, of course. My family’s pretty boring. I’m the black sheep, and everybody still talks to me.

Rosie, I kept reading that med name as trauma-doll. It inspired a highly amusing mental image that I couldn’t even begin to describe, but I hope you get the dosage correctly adjusted soon–and if not, I hope there’s at least pretty swirls and trails and stuff so you enjoy your mis-doses.

Dots, is it possible you’ve got double-pink-eye? I vaguely recall that happening to me as a kid, and it was highly unpleasant. I hope you’re just having a mild reaction to something–pink eye sucks.

I’m going to see if I can sleep sitting up with my eyes open. Catch you later.

Bob, you cheated!

Hot again today- and did I mention that the transit system went suddenly on strike yesterday? It’s back on now, but poor Mr. Lissar got up yesterday at 5, and was waiting at the bus stop for some time before a co-worker phoned to tell him nothing was running. He took a cab to work, and $60 is a bit steep as a getting-to-work price.

Time to walk out slowly to do the laundry.

Stay slow, LiLi. It’s supposed to hit 90 here today, and I’m once again reminded of why I so often consider moving to Alaska. I so hate summer.

hi all - the doc said the dosage is fine - what I’m experiencing isn’t a reaction to the tramadol, but rather withdrawl from Vicoden - oh joy. But at least I know it will pass.
I had the a/c running all weekend - and was blasted with humidity when I left the house this morning. again - oh joy. I so need to win the lottery.

Don’t I wish it was a Jennaire!! No, those were $899.00, and I wasn’t willing to spend that much. This one is called Perfect Flame, I think.

Swampy, have a nice trip! Be safe and have fun with Shibb and any others you meet up with.

The weather promises to be gorgeous today. Of course! It’s back to work and the weather must be gorgeous on work days!

I have a ton of e-mail, so I need to check back in here later.

Did I? She said not to Google it, and I didn’t…

How (where) is **Draelin ** this week?

points up I’m here, I’m just late. Feeling pretty good the last couple days, just waiting for the cycle to come back around and likely lay me out again. I’ve got an appointment to discuss surgery on Thursday afternoon, which is mildly unnerving, as I’ve never had surgery–or even stitches before. But I’m told they put you to sleep for it, and I enjoy sleeping.

GAH!!! I am too busy for the last week of school.

Everyone that doesn’t want the excess heat, send it my way, I love this weather.

Ok, then back to work… :frowning:

Well, despite bobbio cheating – burgoo is NOT chili! It’s similar to Brunswick Stew, which I’m sure swampy can tell us about when he gets back. It’s a really, really thick stew that’s about half meat. < me the poor former vegetarian > Ours was mostly mutton, potatoes, corn and a tomato base; I have a burgoo recipe that calls for One Squirrel. Actually I think any varmit will do.

Despite the rolleyes, it’s really good. There be hot sauce in it, so it’s got a kick.

And despite the extreme heat this early, and pollen, I do love summer. I bought pool passes for the entire family this weekend and laid in a buttload of sunblock. I also bought my son Wonder Boy a T-shirt that says, “I’m with the circus.” He was suitably amused.

Just so long as you don’t make it with rabbit. Most people I know don’t like finding a hare in their soup…
