It's Time For A New MMP

Four times that I know about since we moved in January 2019. The sheriff has shown up three times that I know about. I know one of the victims well enough to know that idiot neighbor self paid for the repair and grumbled about her choice of bodyshops.

The dinosaur lives across the street from the idiot neighbor and is behind a culvert ditch, an uphill slope and a sturdy looking fence so I think it is safe. I doubt dino will be going anywhere for a long time, its mounted in a whole bunch of concrete.

Much love back!

Damn, we finished off the night with an order for seventeen (17) pizzas. I’m not sure what the occasion was, but we had to literally take our phone off the hook.

You are a treasure; d’you know that?

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

It’s 4:20 somewhere. :shamrock: :pizza: :upside_down_face:

And, of course, I woke at 3…

It’s theoretically less than 6 hours to home. Hope I can get everyone in gear and on the road pretty quickly. Busy day once we get home. And busy weekend.

Happy happy Firday!

Happy Friday!

My son got off at 3, so I have been up and awake since then.
When we got home, Adam was sitting on the woodpile by the fence. I told my son to watch out for Echo since she knew he was there. As my son was unhooking her leash, Adam took off running and Echo took off after him. I don’t know why he took her leash off before I closed the gate, although usually she runs for the house.
By the time I got back in the truck to get her, she was already up by the highway.
We got her though, only one other car out there and they stopped when they saw us trying to catch her.
She actually came when I called her and my son was able to grab her.

No way I was going to get back to sleep after all that excitement.
It’s hitting me now though. It’s going to be a rough day trying to stay awake for irk.
I could skip the dog park again today.

Good luck with everything this morning, FCM

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 87 and N.O.S. for the day. Early Summer is makin’ a re-appearance it seems. We have an actual outin’ planned today. We shall go get shorn, then go over to the church house where I shall deal with candles, and then we shall be bears who brunch. We are goin’ to Eggs Up and by the time we get there it will be around ten-thirty a.m., thus brunch. We shall return to da cave for our regularly scheduled sloth and general overall uselessness afterward. Any other need to feed today will be via forage.

MOOOOOOM have a safe rest of the trip home and happy unloadin’. Better thee than me.

sari that’s way too much excitement for that hour of the mornin’.

JtC ain’t neighborhood excitatement fun!

Hippie that looks way cool!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and oh so much bother I suppose I must purtify and don attire appropriate for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. How I suffer!

Happy Firday Y’all!

FCD left a bit after 5. He should be home by noon. He’ll empty the in-laws’ Elantra and take it to our car guy to get inspected, then bring home my car. When we get there, he’ll take them to get their keys and I’ll prep their beds for tonight. So we have a plan.

Then tomorrow, we’ll drop off the trailer and unload the truck of the house stuff. On Sunday, we’ll unload the shop stuff, then return the truck. And that will end the move. I hope.

Our doorbell sounded at 0500. There were some people at our door to let us know that our next door neighbor had committed suicide last night. She was a nice lady. She and her husband had a tumultuous relationship and divorced a year ago. She drank quite a bit. Maybe more than quite a bit. Details are sketchy, but she took some pills and called her sister to say goodbye. The sister called emergency services but it was too late. We don’t know what will happen from here.

Morning, mumpers! It’s 15C/60F and set to stay that way all day, with scattered showers. Weather app says “Mother Nature is pissing all over your fucking parade” although not here, it was beautifully sunny when I went out, and is only a little cloudy now.

(((hippie))) I am so sorry to hear about your neighbour, such a sad end and I’m sure a shock to everyone around her.

Mooom I hope today goes well and you get a much better night back in your own bed!

Sari I am surprised that your son would let the dog off the leash before you’d had a change to make sure the area was secure, especially knowing that Echo would go running off after the cat. I’m glad you managed to get her back safely though.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words about my friends - I am also hoping that Julie’s oncologist means that further therapy won’t shrink the tumour any further and they should proceed to surgery. I believe it was always their plan to shrink it sufficiently that it would be easy to remove via surgery although the therapy was so successful they did hope at one point the tumour would detach itself and pop out into her stoma bag. No such luck, so we are keeping appendages crossed.

In other news, I am about to be left home alone and unsupervised for a few days while 'im indoors goes off to Scotland to see his mum. She’s had a kidney infection so he’s taking the opportunity to fit in a quick visit. I, of course, have lots of exciting things planned for my weekend while he’s not around to get in the way

I’m sorry, but five in the morning is way too early to be knocking on someone’s door for anything short of an actual fire.

I mean, it was kind of them to let you know, but … wait till after dawn, man.

(Dang, I’m crabby. Sorry.)

Morning all. Paper retrieved and pill taken, so morning chores done… Will do swimmin-n-sauna later today but no soccer practice. Saturday soccer Games are somewhat in doubt due to Fall Break, I should have enough kids but don’t know about the other teams.

56F now heading for 81F and still no rain to be seen. May have to water the lawn again this weekend.

hippie, sorry to hear about your neighbor, but was telling you at 5:00am really necessary? I guess there were cars and official vehicles around so you’d be up anyways, but…

FCM, safe journey home. And hope the weekend isn’t too maddening.

swampy, we got an Eggs Up here in N. Ali-bama a couple months ago about 4 miles down the road and it’s real good. Enjoy.

Sari, glad Echo had the good sense to come back after her run. And know what you mean, once the adrenaline starts pumping, getting back to sleep is tough.

DO you have a college nearby?

JtC, sounds like you need to park away from idiot driver. One of these days he’s going to do real damage that can’t be taken care of by a checkbook. Y’all be careful. And rocker sounds nice…any chance of pictures?

OK, need to look at the plan for the day (need to add mailing electric bill) and be about it. Everyone have a good Firday.

Today is my Official Sloth Day. Every day this week I’ve gone to the gym or ridden Ariel. I’ll be surprised if I walk 1,000 steps today. Going to the East China Inn which is not in east China for lunch with my gal pals. I plan to dust and vacuum my bedroom but a nap might get in the way,

My wife woke up last night as the emergency people were leaving. That was around 0200. ( I slept through the whole thing) By the time my wife was up to see what was up, they were gone.

Th family was evidently at the hospital and came back here. When they saw lights were on they rang the doorbell.

Good morning everyone.

I woke up early and in a panic because I realized my husband had forgotten to take down the garbage and recycling, so I got dressed and hauled everything down to the curb. I even reminded him three times last night. Oh well. It’s done and I won’t have two weeks worth of stinky garbage in the garage.

It’s currently 51 degrees with an expected high of 75 and partly cloudy skies. The dang smoke is still hanging around. We’ve had fog, which turns into smoke in the later hours the last couple of days. It did rain just a tad on Wednesday morning. It dried up fairly quickly and the sun even broke out for a bit down in Olympia, but as I returned home, the skies looked ominous. Not because of rain, it was mainly smoke, but there were some clouds. The rain they were predicting for next week has disappeared from the forecast. HARRUMPH I say, HARRUMPH!

My day was filled with meetings, training, and work yesterday and I’m glad I have a four-day weekend to recover. As I mentioned earlier, the make-up birthday party occurs on Saturday, but I have the rest of the weekend to do what I need or want to do.

FCM, I hope the rest of the travels are smooth and short and that tonight, both you and FCD get to fall into bed for a good, deep sleep. A couple of glasses of red wine will make you really sleepy!

Nice work, hippy! I am sorry to read about your neighbor, though.

Glad BIL’s surgery went well, Wet One.

I remember the days of trying to chase down both Polar and Brandi when they escaped, sari. It was irritating and not fun. I’m glad Echol came to you when you called.

Well, I’m going to finish my coffee and tidy up the kitchen. I need to cook chicken for Polar today and it’s out and thawing. I am debating actually leaving the house, or just chilling today. Time will tell.

I have a fedora as well. Plus a couple of straw field hand hats, 2 Tillys, and about a dozen baseball caps from various universities and such. My favorite is one I got from a buddy who worked for General Dynamics that has the Phalanx Weapons System logo on the front. That always gets comments.

Happy Friday everyone! It’s Andy Devine’s birthday today, so put on Jimmy Buffett, grow a pencil-thin mustache and rock on.

It’s still dark as we head out toward 7 a.m… Next year when it’s still dark at 8 a.m., I think a lot of people will see why Daylight Savings all year is a mistake. I’m in favor of Standard Time all year because I remember not just going to school in the dark but watching the sun come up towards the end of first period.

Wow. Weird. My phone is across the room, and it randomly decided to call my daughter. My son’s phone randomly called me last week. Cue Rod Serling.

shoe, takes one to know one. :slightly_smiling_face:

FCM, fingers crossed for a day that goes according to plan.

Hippie, how sad about tour neighbor.

sari, that was quite the morning adventures ! I can imagine why yyou exhausted son would mis-time the leash removal. Glad everyone’s OK.

So smoking clover makes everything magically delicious?

I have a Tilly hat and assorted (I.e., many) winter hats. I don’t wear hats in the summer because my hair is so thick. I get too hot.

I think today is a day to stay in bed.

BooFae, I’m surprised too that he let Echo off the leash before I got the gate closed. He thought I was closer, and normally Echo doesn’t try to turn and run back out. Adam pisses me off though, because he knows the dogs are leashed and he taunts them.

Today when I got back from the park, he sat on the pile of wood watching the dogs. He usually will run through the neighbor’s yard and get through the fence to our back door. This morning I felt his dumb ass brush by my leg as he decided to run through our yard. Echo caught him before he made it to the deck. She’s not hurting him, just chewing on his head a little, but he screams bloody murder, which alerts Ripple to what is going on. Now there’s two dogs chewing on his head.
I wanted to smack all three of them, but of course, I didn’t.
Adam pisses me off because he knows he can’t outrun the dogs, and he knows if they catch him, they are going to hold him down and chew on his head.
I assume it’s how my dogs show love, because they chew on their doggie friends’ heads, and their doggie friends love it.
Thankfully, they have never tried to chew on my head.

I almost hit a kid driving home today.
Stupid stupid kid
I was in the right lane going straight, and a school bus was in the left lane turning left. This kid ran right out into the street and I couldn’t see him because of the bus. He probably didn’t see me because of the bus. He was crossing against the light, and looked to be 9 or 10, so old enough to know better than to just run into the street.
People at the park were talking, since I don’t read the local news regularly, I don’t hear everything. The kids around here are getting out of control. Mostly around the skate park, where they throw rocks at cars, jump on the parked cars, and block the street. I thought it was just a few incidents, but it seems that it is ongoing.

I’m sorry about your neighbor HIppie, and that you got woken up at 5.
Somebody ringing my doorbell that early would have scared me.

I fell asleep in the middle of this, so I got a little nap in.
I hate falling asleep in the chair though, my feet swell up when I fall asleep sitting up.

I read that comedian Judy Tenuta died. She and my sister were in the same circle of friends in high school. She was a jokester even then. I don’t recall meeting her, but I do remember I loved her name and would jump on my sister’s bed chanting, “Judy Tenuta” because it was so much fun to say. My sister lost contact with her after graduation, but of course she’ll be sad in the way most of us are when a friend from our youth passes.

Sari, that must have startled the daylights out of you. Hitting a pedestrian, especially a child, was one of my worst fears when I was still driving. I hope that little boy learned a lesson from the near-miss.

I was the same way with ‘Tokyo Tower’ when I was four, but I didn’t jump on the bed.
