Well no surprises there that octarine turned up town .
Yeah, that was a weaksauce lynch.
I think the final two are Dante and Biotop.
There’s a lot I would have liked to comment on, but obviously I can’t. I’ve been keeping a kind of journal that I’ll post when this is done if people would be interested in reading it.
I’d definitely be interested! I love reading “behind-the-scenes” comments. That’s why I try to comment as much as possible when I run my own games, or as scum on hidden boards.
I’m torn on Biotop. I see why people think he is scum, but his behavior is simply too weird to understand. The entire Octarine post is very uncharacteristic of scum. Octarine was going down, that was clear. Scum don’t have to make up stuff at that point, just go with the flow.
I often find the reaction “I don’t understand you, therefore you must be scum” to be wrong.
DeadCat’s comment on the lynch is making me have second thoughts about him being town.
I would very much like to read it. I’ve been watching along, and wondering about some of the details.
Yeah, not being able to comment is a real pain in the pelt.
I agree, weak lynch. Smelly smelly. It was strange how the Day just fizzled out…
Haven’t had a chance to keep up with this game, until today. It’s interesting to read 2 weeks of game in a short time - really moves things along.
I’m thinking Dante and Sub P are the remaining wolves, though it’s interesting that Biotop almost single-handedly reversed the wagon on SP, moving it to townie Octarine. Maybe its Bio and Sub P instead.
If Bio isn’t a wolf in this game, I definitely want to see the game where he is - and if he keeps up his same style.
Aaaand I guess I should’ve checked up on that thread sooner rather than later. Mafia is a cruel mistress!
On the plus side, Johnny’s poem was quite nice.
Welcome Octarine! Did you have fun in your first game?
Definitely! I learned a lot along the way, and it actually turned out to be a much more complex, fun game than I thought it would be. Also more time consuming, as I mentioned in the game thread - when I play again, I’ll try to sign up for a game at a time of year when I have more down time.
Great! I’m sure Johnny Bravo will be happy to see your comment.
It is time-consuming, and even though it looks simple enough, it gets pretty complicated fast. It is a game about mostly uncertain information and, how to cancel out the noise from the signal and how to come to the right conclusions with the information, gathered and presented by each participant at their own discretion. If you look at it that way, it resembles more a social/psychological experiment and a pretty difficult challenge, than a party game.
You did very well for your first game.
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, Octarine. SDMB Mafia is definitely a singular experience.
I’ve definitely enjoyed the last two games I’ve played here. (And sorry that I had to miss Dante’s game.) I think the fresh blood has given new life to the games and made them very enjoyable.
But can we please lynch Hooker?
Is it morning yet? This bystander is quite curious…
Yay! Go Wolves!
I’m putting my money on Suburban Plankton and HookerChemical.
Dante G is relatively new to Mafia/Werewolf on the SDMB, and most of his missteps here have read to me as someone who is used to playing a faster-paced, less analytical, game. He’s focused on game mechanics because he goes with his gut. But when he has posted deeper analyses it seems like they’re pretty townie.
I don’t trust anyone who comes out of a RL weekend night phase with a detailed j’accuse post already in the hopper like HookerChemical did today. But since Suburban Plankton blew up my scum-o-meter last week I may be wrong.
I’m 90%+ sure about Suburban Plankton, and I think they decided their best bet was to get HookerChemical to get tons of townie cred by bussing him today because it’s lynch or lose both today and tomorrow. If Suburban Plankton can throw suspicion off himself then town loses today and if not then HookerChemical is in the town hero chair for sniffing him out and can lead a mislynch tomorrow, clinching it for the wolf team.
Enjoy,
Steven
