Kate Bush: London dates announced!

It’s only been about 33 years, and even then … well, she was so young. The intervening time has lifted her to an almost mythical status so it’s a big deal. No way would she even contemplate this unless everything was sorted, it’s going to be classy, smart and wonderful - she’s gone for a small-ish (3000 iirc) theatre venue as well:
Comment:

Well, I doubt she’ll be clad in spandex rolling around in a great hamster ball.

The image on the poster is a new shot of the promotional image from The Ninth Wave with Kate in a life jacket, floating in the water. One of the concert dates, September 16, overlaps with the 1985 release of Hounds of Love. She has returned to that before, with her paintings Someone Lost at Sea Hoping Someone In A Plane Will Find Them and Someone In A Plane Hoping To Find Someone Lost At Sea.

You sir are suspended.

Indeed, the internet is awash today in exactly that commentary.

Holy smokes!

Tickets are ₤49- ₤135 each going on sale 9:30AM GMT. I wonder what the odds are that I can buy some from Canada…

That’s kind of tough to do when you’re in your 50s (although I wouldn’t put it past Madonna to try to do something like that).

Incidentally, I wonder if any unannounced special guests might show up.

Male rock stars are allowed to age, but female ones have to try to be 18 their entire lives.

I can imagine that everyone and their pet duck would love to, but as ever, Kate will do exactly and only what she wishes to do. One writer memorably described her as “the sweetest megalomaniac you’ll ever meet.”

That team up with Peter Gabriel on Another Day is the most heartbreaking thing ever.

That is beautiful Dale. Our original copy of that was black and white and dubbed so many generations down and so blurry that you could barely tell that it was Peter and Kate. It’s wonderful to see it in such great quality. That whole Christmas Special is great.

I did receive an access code so I’m hoping against hope to get tickets.

Here’s what the Hammersmith looks like on the inside.

Here’s the Seating plan.

Where did you receive the access code from? I realize that it is too late for me, but I’m curious.

Those who signed up to katebush.com when it first opened received access codes to try for tickets 48 hours ahead of the general public. There are only a limited number so even having an access code is no guarantee of tickets.

Edit to add, I am sorry, I thought the codes had already been mentioned in this thread but I see not. I’ve been on so many message boards and Kate sites and Twitter and Facebook and everywhere, I forgot to look closely.

The codes aren’t transferable, sorry.

Wow. Never in a million years would I have thought…

More dates have been announced.

Equipoise - you got tickets?

Yes! September 2. Now we just have to figure out how we’re going to pay for getting there. And back, of course. Not that we wouldn’t love to live in London, but it’s a bit too expensive for us. A lot! And it closes down early. What’s up with that?

If anyone hears of any decently-priced airfare/hotel packages for early September, please post.

Well done!

The kids will be going back to school around about that week so air fares should be better.

Got tix!

Got them for Sept 17 at the front-right of the balcony (circle). $300 each for the 2 tickets.

God we can’t afford this…

I can’t link from my iPod Touch but a friend posted on Facebook: clickmusic.com reports that tickets sold out in 7 minutes!

Lot of talk atm about bots, it’s basically an arms race and you did pretty well to get tickets once they went on general sale:
