keeping the MMP score: rosie 5, swampy 4

Hi folks! Recovering from a very busy week. This week should be better!

How’s everyone doing. Pull up a chair, let’s chat!

Blurfy McBlurfsalot checking in…

Blurf.

I’ll second the motion.

I’m going to be in Cubeville for only half of the day, so I can get home early and cook for the fahr department tonight. Yee and ha.

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

… And who are you, again…? :stuck_out_tongue:  (Yes, I’ve noticed the name change)

Yes, I guess both of us were [del]in room 304[/del] busy last time around…

Blurfety blurf blurf.

Yeah, that’s all I got. It’s going to be a looooooong day. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ on a rainy Monday mornin’. Ok, I’ve been up a while. Before I went beddy bye I put a chicken on to cook (duh!) in the slow cooker. It was all nice and roasted up when I arose. It is now coolin’ off and shall be turned into chicken pot pie. I also have some chili cookin’ in the 16 quart slow cooker as the supply was gettin’ low. Can’t be runnin’ out of chili now!

Hi Haze! I say Irish Guy should marry you and support you in a lavish lifestyle. What? You didn’t say that wasn’t an option!

Hi Shadow! Good luck on the new job. My money’s on the fact that the last person either didn’t have a clue or didn’t want the job to begin with. Look at it this way, it took 'em a while to find the right person but now they have!

StickyBuns you have been usin’ blow torches, power tools etc as of late. That could be contributin’ to the shoulder pain.

Now that’s worthy of bein’ embroidered on a throw pillow!

I’ll third that blurf! I just have no motivation this morning other than to go back to bed for a couple of hours. Ugh!

I don’t suppose dotty, it will do any good to say enjoy HRH while she’s little? No? I thought not.

Good luck, shadow! It’ll be fine.

That’s all I gots right now.

Tell TVman to stop biting so hard?
Recent conversation at my brother’s place of employment (FinanceMan, aka Lilbro):
HRwoman to Big Bosses: speaking of which, Ana the temp has been here for five months and her contract is for five. Should I draw a new temporary contract or a permanent one? I hear everybody’s happy with her.
FinanceMan: Can’t speak for the rest, but I sure am. (one of the things the temp did was file his documents, and she was the first person with that task with the ability to find what she, herself, had filed)
Big Boss One: No, no, temps are supposed to be temporary, we never talked about temp-to-hire. Just start the process to look for a permanent person.
BB Two: Yeah.
HRwoman:  But… she’s happy, we’re happy, it’s a lot cheaper to keep her than look for someone else…
Bosses: But we’ve never done that.
FinanceMan: That doesn’t mean we can’t, we do new things every day and so far it’s never killed us.
Bosses: No, no, call up the usual employment agency and start up the process.

HRwoman and FinanceMan leave the room.

FinanceMan: I have a question… are we, as a company, stupid?
HRwoman: I’m beginning to suspect we are!

I have a new (great) niece! My nephew and his wife just had their second child this morning!

Swampy, you may have a point there. My shoulder isn’t hurting so much anymore. Now I just feel like I was run over by a herd of schnoodles in the middle of the night.

Nava, you made me LOL (literally).

Noonie, how come you didn’t invite me to room 304??? :frowning:

Yay Soapy for the new great niece!

Nava it’s nice to know office stoopid is a worldwide phenomena.

Ok, so I go out to get my paper out of the box. Where is it? Ummm… in the box you answer? Why noooooooooooo! It’s rainin’ so natch delivery person decides today is the day to toss it on the ground. Thus I had to call and ever so nicely but firmly explain why this is not acceptable and furthermore expect a dry newspaper to be delivered within the hour. On the upside the Albeeeny Herald (motto: Proofreaders? We don’t need no stinkin’ Proofreaders!) is usually pretty good about gettin’ a paper out pronto.

This is day #2 of an apparent arthritis flare in the middle finger of my right hand. Nobody had better tick me off today at work, because it is painful for me to extend the one finger salute.

I did take an Aleve with brekkies, FWIW.

Thank you for expressing what the guilty voice in my head was saying after I posted that (which, by the way, always sounds exactly like my mother - coincidence? I think not). And I don’t mean that sarcastically.

2010 is the year when I turn my life around - I stopped smoking in October last year (not “quit” but “stopped”, because you don’t quit something bad for you, you stop doing it!), at the beginning of the year I stopped eating cr@p food and I stopped taking the lift (elevator) to my 2nd floor (Americans - read 3rd floor) office and today I started going to the gym.

I am tired of being fat, sluggish and lethargic. I am fed up with coasting through my life with my eyes closed and on cruise control. I need to wake the f*** up and start living and enjoying all the small things that I should be thankful for.

So thank you Puggy for nailing home for me exactly what I need to be doing. You just made my day! And now I am off to the park with HRH to start enjoying the little things!

Or made into facebook flair (which I did)!

I’m back! For a bit anyhow. Work is slow for the next few weeks, until Easter traffic picks up.

I’ve been keeping up, mostly, but haven’t really taken time to post much. A LOT has happened in my life since I last posted in MMP.
Last May I met C. We moved in together in August, And I proposed to her on Valentines day. We’re getting married! Actually, we just call it that even though Wisconsin has yet to make same sex marriage legal, but we can register for domestic partnership. That just sounds too cold to me though. We are planning a big party for April 2011. Anyone know where I can find a woman’s plus size tuxedo?

Congrats Walls and welcome back!

I got my paper. I even showed ‘em the soggy one. I don’t know why, it ain’t like the guy’s ever seen one but I was drivin’ home the point that it would not have been soggy if it had been put in that little place on my mailbox especially for newspapers.

I’m also all cleanded up. In a bit I am goin’ to brave  WallyWorld  cause I need some stuff for da cave. Then I am meetin’ a friend for lunch at the hog trough. After that it’s a stop by the grocery store. Yes, I know I could buy groceries at  WallyWorld  but I’d rather buy ‘em at my great local grocery store. Besides I need perishables that I can’t just buy at  Wally*World  cause I’m goin’ somewhere else after that.

The yahdburd I roasted is now deboned and shall be made into a chicken pot pie later today also. I have decided to go ahead and make it up today and just reheat for tomorrow’s dindin. I have discovered that chicken pot pie is one of those things that is better the next day, IMO.

Just for perspective, today is my daughter’s 29th birthday! Your mother’s voice knows how fast the time goes by.

P.S. There will come a day when you will get to be the voice in her head.

Congrats to both Wallflower and Soapy! It’s nice to see that good stuff is finally happening to Mumpers… we had a bit of a bad run for a while there. :stuck_out_tongue:

My manager just tried to sign me up for a course I completed just 6 months ago. I’m trying not to interpret it as a sign that I learned so little that she thinks I’d benefit from a do-over… :smack: (She says it’s just a forgetful moment… there are only three in-class courses available to my level, and of those, I’ve completed two and have no reason to take the third, since it’s a Finance course)

Now if only I could unblurf myself, that would be great.

Yay Wally!!!

Congrats! Come move to Connecticut and we’ll marry you up!

Congrats Wallflower!

Yay on the new niece, Soapy!

Yay on the new job Shadow! I hope we’ll see you around more now that you’ll be stuck in front of a computer all day again! Also, what have you been knitting lately?

I missed a lot last week… why did **Pie **change her name?

Thanks for the link to the granola recipe, gt and muppet. I’ve been thinking about making my own granola but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Maybe this is the incentive I need. Has anyone else tried Claire Robinson’s trail mix? Super easy and sooooooooooooo good. Addictively good. So much so that you’ll be cursing me for telling you about it.

Good for you Dotty for making a new plan for your life. Sounds like you’re headed on the right track.

The weekend drive to and from Milwaukee with a funeral somewhere there in between was ok. Travel was fine but long. The funeral was well done. KT’s mom seems sad but relieved that it’s over.

I cast on a new baby blanket while riding home yesterday, but I think I screwed up somewhere in row 5 so I’m going to have to figure out what I did wrong and then undo a whole bunch. I’m just hoping it doesn’t spell starting all over. Ugh. I’m on baby blanket 3 of the 4 that need to be done in the next few months, but number 2 isn’t done, just on hold until I can get more yarn. My local Michael’s can’t seem to keep Plushy Purple in stock. Other colors - fine. Purple, you’ve got to get there on delivery day to grab it up. Why not order more when you sell out so fast???
