It reminds me of a candelabra I bought years ago in the market on Portobello Road. The “feet” were made of bent forks and the cups where the candles sat were made of bent spoons.
I have been to my team meeting and I can officially report that it is extremely cold out there. I am recovering with a cup of tea.
Oy… one rotten weekend is mercifully over. I managed to cut three different fingers, my nose has been alternately clogged and pressurized, or running like a leaky faucet, and we apparently drove through a hardware store as we came out on Sunday morning to find a flat tire. Around here, the only place open on Sunday that does tires is WalMart, so I put enough air into the tire to be drivable, and we head cautiously over there, hissing all the way. As feared, one of the screws was into the sidewall, rendering the tire well and truly dead. The only bright side is that they had a “cheap” tire in stock and we escaped for just under $200, including balancing and rotating all four.
I don’t even know what kind of tire we got - it’s round, black and seems to hold air OK. We’ve actually done pretty well on tire karma. We bought the truck a bit over three years ago, and this is the first tire problem we’ve had.
Just another day of sending out resumes here. At least I now have a method of grinding out appropriately enthusiastic cover letters. Hey! What else would I be doing, right?
Big heartfelt yays for all the previously mentioned mumper accomplishments.
Well, I’m off to clean out the fridge and then clean up the Tupug.
Gorgeous shawls, Shadow! But what do you do with all of them? I have enough trouble getting rid of scarves. I can’t imagine trying to find enough people who want shawls. (I do knit prayer shawls for church, but those have to meet pretty strict criteria so nothing fancy like what you’ve got.)
Work was going really really well yesterday, but now I’ve got a big PITA task right now. Who the heck comes up with some of these things??
Oooh, and to gossip about a vendor a little bit… I got an out of office reply from a vendor, which included contacts for all of her clients. Nice to include contacts, but I’m guessing all of her national clients don’t necessarily want to know about each other. Or more to the point, each one doesn’t want the other to know about them… seems like it might have been a little inadvisable to put that list out there. But also kind of cool to see who else she’s working with.
Moving survey one is done moving survey two is tomorrow AM.
I need to pack for my weekend trip but I have no energy. I will do it tomorrow night as I leave Thursday afternoon. Having said that French air traffic control is on strike and 25% of short haul flights are cancelled so we shall see if I even get to go!
Did someone actually need GMTA translated or was everyone just having fun making up words to fit the acronym? Just in case, it’s Great Minds Think Alike.
