Keeping track in the MMP

Currently awaiting the maintenance guy, since my oven has quit heating up. The stovetop burners all still work, so the thing is hooked up to gas and all.

I just want a nap. Monkey just wants to go outside. Neither of us is getting what we want in the near future.

They needed help loading in Purple 46, so I made some hours. I was helping Janice load the one package car that was a bulk stop, and 50 small packages. She was whining about it, but I took one look at the load sheet and saw it was easy peasy leon squeezy. Also a package of glitter broke in one of the bags in Smalls, so now the department looks like Tinkerbell got hit with an IED.

Yay!

Well, the crust is made of flour, so they definitely wanted GRRRAAAAAAIIIINNNNNSSS!!!

Apparently the ignitor got old and needed to be replaced. He seems to know what he’s doing.

ETA: that was funny, swampy and doggio

Huzzah! I have a functioning oven again! :confetti_ball:

Woohoo!

Hooray for shoe’s oven!

I’m feeling somewhat less itchy this morning, so maybe if I keep hitting this with extra antihistamines, it’ll go away. I hate being on such high levels. It can’t possibly be good for me overall. I know it makes my naturally spacey brain even spacier–I really am high on life–but it’s all I can do, and the docs said to do it, so…Anyway, thanks for the good thoughts, you wonderful people!

Last night I dreamed I was on a bus with a lot of other people I knew to go to a literary conference where I was supposed to deliver a paper on “meanings.” Another woman was upset because she had the same topic, but after a lot of searching, I found my notes were for a talk on humor. HOWEVER, it turned out we were supposed to bring sleeping bags. Fancy-schmancy! I didn’t have one. Plus I’d left all my clothes, etc. back at the hotel. So I got off the bus, didn’t know where I was, and realized I’d left my purse and phone on the bus.

See? Even my subconscious is spacey.

It’s chilly and threatening rain, but I want to go for a long walk today, so I’ll bundle up. I should do laundry, but wanderlust must get slaked.

Huh. It took effort to delete assignments on our program, and it wasn’t great. But that was six years ago, so it’s probably easier now with tech advances. The district decided to change grade book attendance programs for the year after I left. Faculty pointed out the many, many terrible things in the new program, like there was no IT help because this woman had created the program in her parents’ basement and had a staff of one. Too bad, the district had already spent $$. And WHY did they choose that disaster? Because the IT director was sleeping with that woman. (He was married.) $150k later, the district finally pulled the plug.

shoe, hope you can either get the dye off or get cast in the next Avatar movie. Also, yay on the oven!

MetalMouse, I hope the fence doesn’t cost as much as you fear and that this is the last of the pricey house costs.

rocky, have I mentioned how much I like the name Lager?

JtC, if the butter were green because it was blended with herbs, I wouldn’t mind, but obviously that wouldn’t be good for pancakes and syrup, etc. Also, I’d think customers would assume it wasn’t real butter.

Go, oven, go!

Nandi had his surgery this morning, and is now home. For those who were asking, neutering him (a cat) came to around $158. That was at the base vet, though; as I recall, last year civilian vets were charging about double what the Army was.

I’ve dreamed (two or three times!) that I was under way and had forgotten to bring my seabag, so the clothes I was wearing were all I had for the next three weeks… (Most of my dreams havve to do with the Navy or Sears, or – worse yet – the two combined.)

I just finished the first blocks from month one:

I go for the next class a week from Saturday. I am really excited to see what is coming up. This material is a joy to work with.

Nice!

Back from a supply run which included feeding the car. For some reason, Buddy apparently talked DH into letting him out at a very unusual time. I’m sure he’ll be back no later than when the rain hits (which should be any time now). I think we’re set for the storm.

Now if COBRA and Kaiser would get their act together to reinstate our website access for prescription refills… (We both have multiple weeks’ worth of our respective meds in stock and in a worst case scenario, could toddle off to Walmart/Costco/CVS and buy more.)

My uncle’s funeral and interment have been scheduled for the morning of 4/24. I’ve notified work, and made hotel and kennel reservations. I plan to drive up to NJ the Saturday before, so I can visit some family on my mom’s side while I’m up that way, and come home on Tuesday. I’ve booked myself into a Homewood Suites for comfort (and the ability to easily make microwave popcorn  ). I could drive home on Monday after the lunch/repast – it’s only 260 miles – but my company’s bereavement leave policy allows for up to three days off, so why not take two? Plus the day might be more tiring than I expect, and that way I won’t need to worry about hitting any evening rush hour traffic.

Oh, and I’ve already ordered the cake pops that I mentioned upthread (my cousin’s daughter’s fundraiser). There has to be some silver lining, right??

I’m about to play some hooky and make a grocery store run. Work is fairly quiet this afternoon ( :crossed_fingers: ), and I can’t go later because I have an online thing this evening (my NAACP branch is sponsoring a community conversation about local policing practices, in light of the fact that two county officers shot and killed an unarmed shoplifter a couple of weeks ago). And I’d rather not go tomorrow, because it’s supposed to rain. I just need to change out of my jammies into “people can see you!” clothes…

Bailey gets a pill every other day. I have a small representative calendar that I made in Excel, and every month I update the dates, print that month’s “calendar,” and put it on the fridge:

The green days are pill days. It’s the only paper reminder I use.

Oooooo, I like those colors and that pattern!

Howdy Y’all! I saw the doc and the vampire (blood draw for PSA), di

d the errands and then OYKW and I went and got shorn. After all that I was glad to be back at da cave. I needed nappage to recharge after all that activity! We shall order majik intartoobz pizza in about an hour. Life is good.

shoe yay for oven workin’ again!

MetalMouse hope the fence is not to many $$$.

Hippie tres cool!

Nettie glad you’re less itchy. Dreams be weird!

ITYM Nellie.

Afternoon all. Sitting around the house waiting for the HVAC guy to come back and pickup the stuff he left in my garage. He said it would be in the afternoon, so he might be delayed with a morning job, but he could have called by now (2:30pm). But since he has my check…let’s say I am not enamored with their services… As for the fence, I have a cost for the section they did in 2020 and it ran about $1,600, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this part didn’t cost just as much. I have reserves, of course, but my planeed savings deposit ain’t happening soon.

Oopsie, sounds like a good plan.

Seanette, hope the insurance folks get off their combined behinds and do their job for you.

Hippie, looking good on the pattern.

Herald (at least I think that was SCAdian’s MMP name). Good news about Nandi–well, maybe not for him, but still good news…

nellie, may you itches disappear and your dreams be pleasant.

shoe, now you’re cooking!!!

doggio, glittering your workplace; careful, the bosses might like it…

OK, back to waiting for the HVAC people. If it makes it to 4pm and no sign, I will call and put on my “Grumpy” face…and you wouldn’t like me when I’m grumpy…

I’ve read this as well. I hope the Dark-Sky Association can convince more people to dim their outdoor lights.

My last dye job (professional) was in July. I got tired of spending so much time at the salon. And I don’t feel like trying to dye my own hair.

I am so impressed by big names (movie stars, politicians, etc.) who publicize their treatment, which helps others go for help.

Please send us our weather. Today it was 16 C / 60 F, and the snow in the mountains is melting. We anyway need more precipitation.

Glad to see Lager is doing better. Too may pets with problems.

Maybe not green butter, but chive butter is yummy!

Yay for a working oven, shoe.

Hoping the itchiness subsides, and stays there, Nellie.

Hippie, those are gorgeous!

Managed to go to the gym, even though I had a headache. Seems that most of the headache was because my back was really messed up, so my headache was a lot better when I left the gym. Got some more exercises, which are not very graceful, but seem to be effective.

Had dinner (leftover panang curry) and now it’s time for a cookie.

Have a good evening!

I read this before I drove Hubs to chemo and it got my taste buds started so while there I was checking my email and saw that our fav pizza place had a $5 off offer on an 8 piece all corner pieces pizza so I ordered it with a 5:30 pickup time. Since we haven’t had a pizza since some time in December, this will also be a treat. Thanks for the suggestion Swampy. I ordered it with Italian sausage but will saute some onions, bell peppers and mushrooms at home to put on top of it. These ingredients bought at the store (that we already have in the frig) probably cost around $1, if that, but if we ordered them from the pizza place it would have cost an extra $7.95 which saves us $6.95. I’m frugal like that. Also, I’ll make a salad for myself and some cooked veggies for Hubs, probably brussels spouts (he can’t have raw veggies or fruits because of potential bad things on the skins due to the effect on his neutriphylls).

When he got up, I asked what he wanted for breakie and his order was bacon and 2 scrambled eggs. There was also a little leftover potato in the frig so I cut it up and added that to the skillet. When I made his toast, I saw there was only one piece of bread left in the bag so when I dropped him off at the hospital, I went to Kroger for a loaf. It was a good thing this only took me 15 minutes because when I returned, the nurse was kind of arguing with him about his next series. I confirmed to her what the Doc had said at the pre-chemo appt but she wasn’t necessarily taking our word so she agreed to contact the Doc. As it turns out, he is no longer going to work out of the hospital that is close to our home, so instead of 3.9 miles, we will have to go 9.7 miles for his pre-chemo appts. But he can still go to the local hospital for the chemo sessions.

Made BLTs for lunch, washed dishes and watched 2 BT bball games so far. We were happy that “The Other School” (other big ten school in the mitten) lost; this probably seals their fate to not make The Dance; they’ll likely have to go to the NIT (Not Invited Tournament haha). Since the Spartans have a double bye, they don’t play until tomorrow. Their opponent will be whoever wins this game in progress between the Buckeyes and the Hawkeyes.

One hour to go until I have to pick up the pizza and I have the prep work to do so I say see you all later.

Oh, dang, the oracles are predicting a 100% chance of snow and “wintry mix” for tonight. It’s already getting overcast out there.

Imma take a nap.

Several hours later, and now it is raining quite hard, and there’s still no sign of him.  I’m sure he must be visiting with other people, in another apartment.  I cannot imagine that he’d choose to be outside in this weather.  If he didn’t have somewhere else warm and dry to be, he’d surely come back here right away.

Howdy Y’all! Pizza and sallit have been ingested. Really hit the spot! Glad I could be an inspiration Cat_Glove.

I like how Buddy has many places, apparently, he can go. He’s quite the social gadabout it seems!
