Last week of April in the MMP

Morning all. Didn’t post last evening as ESPN showed all 4 episodes of “The Last Dance” (a series they are running about the Chicago Bulls/Michael Jordan and the end of their 6-championship run) so I ‘binged’ watched them all. Next two episodes are Sunday.

Heading for 75F today and no rain in the forecast, we might break 80F tomorrow. Need to head to the bank and move some money around, but that’s all that is planned for the day, outside of solving Sudoku’s.

Dot, normally these days they dig graves using a backhoe; surprised you didn’t hear anything. And doing that thing nellie suggests is nasty and cruel–and I think you ought to do it…<evil cackle>

And nellie, the NP and doc are putting your relations in a bad spot; do they try to resuscitate BIL a bit that probably won’t make a difference, or do they let him go and perhaps feel ‘guilty’ that they didn’t try to save him? Not a good situation for anybody. And while I’ve never had a kidney stone (and hope I never do), I’ve heard enough stories about them to know daughter did not have a fun time. {{all}} on general principles.

Red, unlike the TV or movie versions, the great majority of crooks are pretty dumb. Nice catch.

Everybody had a good May 1st, and swampy, I can’t dance so no traipsing around a flagpole for the Ol’ Rat.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Gordie and I ran into Fluffy and his owner on our walk. Gordie of course wanted to throw hands.

Made a quick run to Food Lion, and having unpacked my purchases, stowed them all, and ingested lunch, I’m about to assume the read position. SIL is taking the trash and recycling, since the rain has stopped. I see blue sky, but no sun yet. And Roxy is napping, so it’s nice and quiet.

Book beckons!

Howdy Y’all! We had our bizkits and then I put a hunk o’ beast in the slow cooker. It shall be turned into my version of Philly Cheesesteaks for tonight’s sup and for tomorrow’s N.O.L. or sup, whichever it turns out to be. All is well at da cave.

Afternoon all. Banking has been done, the Credit Union has upgraded to ‘virtual banking’, you see a teller on the screen, you put the money in the machine and it ‘reads’ it and gives you a receipt. Call me old-fashioned, but I’d rather do banking directly with a person I can at least see at the other end. Also did a little shopping and came on home. Another beautiful day gone to seed.

Weekly Big Shop done. It was pretty quiet today, which was a bit nicer than it has been. I think I overspent (especially given the chunk I just spent on the car) but oh well, I’m hardly going out partying every night, and it is payday.

Other’n that, laaazy day. I did bake some sourdough bread, which was my best attempt yet; unfortunately it was too nice, so I scoffed half of it already. With the flour shortage (there was just a faint trace of white dust on the supermarket shelf) I’m not sure how much more baking practice I’ll be getting in. Hopefully the little Polish shop will have some flour when I run out, I’m getting quite attached to my starter now.

lol around here people are buying masa and trying to make bread with it … the reaction is " well the sandwich was good but it vaguely tasted like a tamale "

Now this weekend and next is going to be interesting because of Cinco di maio which is pretty much the Latin/Hispanic st Patrick’s day (an excuse to party and get drunk) in so cal… and some of the
more macho ones have the "we don’t need no stinking social distancing " attitude

FYI - **sari **answered my message. She doesn’t have plague, but she’s been feeling ick. Hopes to rejoin the human race soon.

Meanwhile, pizza for supper - daughter and SIL are picking it up.

Oh, and the sun came out. YAY!!

I did one load of laundry, paid bills, and called my sister. She OK’d the feeding because the doc said it couldn’t hurt, might help, so the guilt won out. BIL is nonverbal again. He either can’t or won’t swallow. MetalMouse, you are so right: it put her in a terrible position. If BIL doesn’t perk up in the next few days, they’ll discontinue the feeding. I’m sure he’ll perk up a little because he’ll be getting some nutrients, so they’ll keep feeding him.

Maybe I should add a clause to my Living Will: no PICC feeding.

swampy, I swear if you don’t stop tempting me with those delicious meal descriptions, I’m going to camp in your yard in the hopes you’ll toss out a scrap now and then. Maybe I could clean the pool while I’m out there. Will work for vittles!

Moooom, every time you say something about sleeping with or without Mel, I imagine Mel Brooks in stripy pajamas reading you bedtime stories. There are worse ways to go to sleep. Would FCD be annoyed?

BooFae, don’t leave me hanging! Who’s your favorite singer in the whole world?

I’m trying to talk myself into walking to the store. I’m out of dishwasher detergent. Last couple times I checked, they were totally out. Definitely a first world problem in the Age of Covid.

It’s N.C. weather when I stand on the sidewalk watching the rain fall in the pool, while the sun shine directly in my face. And showing how desperate Sports radio is for content, they had the Canes’ PA announcer call my sweeping of the kitchen today.

Shdes, it’s back to back holidays next week. Star Wars Day(May the Fourth be with you!;)) and Cinco de Mayo. But now I’m craving tamales. Although one time Kroger had the Herdez tortilla chips made with masa. They were da bomb!

**nellie **- I’ll take Mel Brooks over Mel Gibson, since I think he’s bat-crap crazy… I don’t know if FCD would be annoyed or just confused.

Pizza was pretty good. Time now for more chillage.

Howdy!

The Zoom meeting is done (2 hours  ). Next week, I’ll pretty up the report and have it notarized by our in house notary and I should be done with the whole mess until the next time.

The table and chairs aren’t here yet. I forgot that they’re striking today (I’m good with that. We have several Jungle warehouses in the area and I’ve heard the horror stories). I took the recycling to the convenience center down the street. That place has been packed all of April, since the town doesn’t contract with a trash removal service (it’s left up to the households or apartment complexes to contract with whatever service will come to the area or take trash to the convenience center). Then it was on to the supermercado down the street for vegetation for next week’s lunches. I took Nelson to the dog park after. He was the only one on the small dog side, but he had a good time being off leash. Tomorrow, he’ll have a playdate with his dachshund buddies Watson and Chip. He’ll be in doggie nirvana.

Dinner was simple, and my kitchen is clean and my dishes done. Tonight, I am watching a favorite: The Wiz It features what became my life’s theme song: The Crow Anthem

They are slowly opening places back up in Alabama (much more cautious than Georgia) and was able to pickup my second set of sheets and another mattress pad from Furniture Row. They cost over $200, so they’d better last a long time. Still working Sudoku’s, it feels like they are making them harder (or my brain is getting softer).

Tomorrow is supposed to reach 83F, we’ll see if the heat is hear to stay or not.

Everybody have a good Firday night.

The man eats succotash. Get real.

Had a Zoom Happy Hour: Pet edition tonight.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 50 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 85 and N.O.S. for the day. I think we’re officially in Summer temps now. Moanday’s high is predicted to be 90. No big plans for the day. We have leftovers from last night’s sup so we shall feed on that and/or forage for any other sustenance needs. I shall take a beastloaf and some collard greens outta da freezer for tomorrow’s N.O.L. I envision those, mac & cheese, squishes, and baby cornbread muffins for tomorrow’s N.O.L. I like to cook the greens the day before and I want the beastloaf to thaw out in da fridge today. I’ll make up the mac & cheese today as well. Nellie howzzat for food porn?

flytrap I like succotash. So There! :stuck_out_tongue: Beats heck outta fart blossoms.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, we shall see what the day holds forth. Huzzah! Rah!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Roxy beat me out of bed this morning. When I came out to the living room, she was arranging her stuffed toys on the love seat the way she always asks me to do. So much for her helpless act!

Since dragging myself out of bed, I’ve tended to the critters, including refilling the dog food bucket, I’ve fed and changed Roxy, and I’m having my breakfast right now. We’re promised a loverly day, and I intend to do some yard work in the fresh air and sunshine.

Of course, weird weather shall continue - this weekend promises highs in the 70s, but later in the week, we’re looking at 50s again for highs. What a pain.

**FCD **is still scheduled for May 12 - I expect this week they’ll call and change it, but maybe not… Hard to plan anything in this weird world.

Happy Saturday!!

Morning all. Up at 0630, so I expect nappage is somewhere in the future. Only thing planner for today is acquiring some picture frames from the Dollar store, otherwise just another day inside.

It’s 60F heading to 81F according to the weather people. Most Saturday’s like that I would be out at the soccer fields…now…

Everyone have a good weekend.

So, what are Gordie and Alex’s favorite tipples? :stuck_out_tongue:

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, puppy crate cleaned and a load of towels in the wash. Nelson has a noon playdate with the doxies today, so we’ll get some fresh air and sunshine.
