Aw, thanks! Cookies for breakfast.
I’m awake and showered and just waiting until it’s time to go deliver breakfast. It’s for a charity golf outing… In the rain. I actually think that it rained last year when they had this even, too.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 and rain especially late afternoon. We shall see. Although the weather PTB have been pretty much on the money with that this week.
I am so glad that my presence reminds y’all of the importance of stockin’ up on tp. I thought about y’all last night as I was restockin’ the bathrooms. I was down to only two rolls in the master bath! I hied myself to the storage room and remedied that post haste.
Taters that sounds good. I think I shall try that here at Chez swamp soon. Not tonight though. Tonight is pizza night.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands feedin’. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Lots of paper irk to deal with today. ICK! At least it’s Firday.
Happy Firday Y’all!
I used angel hair also - I much prefer the thin pasta. And I do break it on half, mainly because I boil it in a saucepan, and it fits better broken. Plus it’s just easier to serve and eat.
Good morning! We are promised much rain today, from our “I’ll believe it when I see it” department. I have no outdoor plans, apart from running to Food Lion for bread and milk. I recently discovered Nature’s Own Butterbread, and I think it’s one of the best mass-produced breads I’ve ever had. The flavor is good, it makes great toast, and its texture is substantial - I don’t know how else to put it - when you take a bite, you know it. And even tho it’s more expensive than your generic store brand white or wheat, I’ve been splurging. Yep, I now go wild in the bread aisle.
On the possible job front, there’s been an interesting development. **FCD **needs to hire a draftsman. I’m a pretty good draftsman, and if they hired me, it would be on an as-needed basis, which is cool with me. So I may be working sooner than later, especially since the job they’re bidding me on won’t materialize till over a year from now. So yay!
Happy Firday, all!!!
We just had some heavy-duty thunderboomers come thru with some heavy-duty rain. In fact, it’s still raining. Good thing I did my laundry yesterday…
**FCD **copied me with the email he sent his boss and his boss’ boss about me coming to work there. Maybe I’ll find out today what happens.
Autocad?
Monring!
Howdy, doggio!
I’m back home from delivering breakfast and taking a break for a few minutes before I get started on lunch.
After lunch delivery I really, really hope there will be a nap in my future.
Yeah. Last version I used regularly was (I think) ACAD2000, or maybe 2004. He’s not sure what version they’re using because he does all his work in Solid Works, or Inventor - I’m not sure which. In any case, I used to have some mad AutoCAD skillz and I doubt it’ll take long for me to become proficient again. I’d also have to learn their database system, but since my spousal unit designed it, I’m pretty sure I can get all the guidance I need with that.
I jokingly asked him if I could get an office with a window, and he said “Probably” - way cool!! I’ve never had an office before - I’ve always been a cube denizen, altho a couple of times, I had a cube by a window. Anyway, no one has called yet, or emailed yet, and I know he had a design review this morning, so I doubt that hiring me has been a topic of discussion yet.
Just got back from beautiful Leonardtown, with stops at the credit union, Food Lion, and McKay’s. After lunch, I think I’ll change into grubbies and go play with clay again for a while. Then, who knows?
AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Yep, y’all guessed it, hosebeast struck yet again. So, I give folks a task to complete. A little paperirk intensive but not hard. Three people are supposed to complete the task, each in their own territory. All three report back with the paperirk yesterday which I, joy of joys, get to page through, sign, scan and send to TPTB. Two folks stuff is perfect. Exactly what I said to do, exactly how I said it must be done. Then there’s hosebeast. Thirty-four pieces of completed information from her and NOT EVEN ONE OF 'EM is right. Sigh. Please, please go away hosebeast! Actually she will go away one way or another. If this job she allegedly has a tentative offer of does not go through, I shall escalate the process of gettin’ rid of her. I have a folder full of ever growin’ justification. It shall be used. Oh, yes, it shall be used.
/Here endeth the rant
I feel better now.
Had a pretty good day yesterday. Left work a little early because I was bored silly. Cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the bathroom really well although I’m still working on the years of hard water build up in the tub* AND goofed off a bit on the computer.
Sounds like you need a drink. But since it’ll be warm by the time you get off work, I’ll have to drink it for you.
: waves at Sticky
What a mensch!
**ShinyCat **- Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - it’s a mildly abrasive sponge that will wear away as you use it, but it’s a pretty amazing cleaning product! We used 'em to scrub our boat hull.
**swampy **- I just figured it out. You’re secretly in lurve with the so-called hosebeast and it’s forcing you to consider that maybe you’re not really gay after all, and that’s upsetting your happy little world. Am I right???
OK, time for lunch.
Tried it. It got it white (thank goodness), but most of the drip marks are still there. I actually looked this morning - it seems better, but I used so many things on it yesterday I don’t know what worked (… scrubbing, I’m sure)
I’ve had N.O.L. Fish and chips from the tech school next door. I got full for a buck fifty. This makes me happy.
MOOOOOOM here’s the thing. Hosebeast is a nice person. However, the overridin’ thing is, she is a complete nincompoop. She called and whined because she “didn’t understand why everything is wrong!!!111” I replied, “it’s wrong because you did not follow instructions. Redo it and get it back to me no later than noon Monday. That is a hard deadline because it has to get out no later than Monday afternoon and I will not redo your work anymore.” She whined back, “but I was planning on going home early this afternoon.” I said, “if you get this finished by all means do so but it’s due no later than noon Monday, hard deadline.” This is followed by an audible sigh from hosebeast and “well, if I HAVE to I guess I will.” I said, “yes, you have to, just like everybody else had to and turned it in right. Also, I don’t want to hear anymore about you sending emails asking them for help. They’re finished with this, you’re not.” I got back, “crickets then, I’ll start work on it right now.” What I will love about her is her resignation and/or notice of dismissal in hand.
Speakin’ of go home early, I am strongly considerin’ it. I have some paperirk stuff I could easily be doin’ from da cave in shorts with [del]a stiff drink[/del] a glass of iced tea in hand.
I am currently doing my happy dance seeing as it is Friday.
Plans for the weekend include doing not much but we are seeing Crosby, Stills and Nash on Sunday night - belated birthday present for mr ems. As in a bought the tickets for his birthday back in March.
I am currently waiting on someone else doing their job so I can update a calculation sheet of mine and get it sent out to the powers that be this afternoon.
What do I want for lunch today? Any ideas?
I had turkey italian sausage and tortilla chips with cheese. I served honey mustard glazed ham and teriyaki chicken.
Now I would really, really like a nap but I’m waiting to see if the guy is coming out today to rip out the carpet in the basement that got destroyed when the pump quit working. Last time he just showed up so I can’t take a nap hoping his call will wake me. I’ve got to be alert so I can get the dogs locked up before Mick gets any ideas.
This was the lunch menu at the irk cafeteria. Pesto salmon for $5.65. I hate salmon plus that’s way too much for a skimpy piece of fish. Turkey a la king which I call “a pile of sick on a plate.” Soup was chikken noodle–all noodle and no chikken. I had a burger patty (no bun) with sauteed mushrooms and onions. And a teeny scoop of tatie salad which had mustard in it which is JUST WRONG. I don’t know what’s for din-din since I’m going to yoga after irk and can’t be bothered to plan ahead.
It poured yesterday and was 40 degrees cooler than it was 10 days ago. I did my happy Snoopy dance cuz I f****** hate heat. Today it’s sunny, 73 and windy. Bob teh Wonder Pony will be happy eating grass with his bestie. They are side by side at all time. I wonder if my horse has teh ghay???
**FCD **came home early - surprise, surprise!! Luckily, the “pool boy” had already left…
Yeah, right, because I’m *sooooooo *the type to have a “pool boy”
Anyway, he talked to the CEO about me, and apparently he likes the idea of taking me on as a “temp” so I’ll just work when they have a specific project for me to charge to. Then if things get slow, I don’t go in. The pay is extremely good for a drafter but sucky for a senior engineer. However, I don’t want to be a senior engineer, so it’s good. And I don’t need any bennies, since I got to carry mine into retirement, so that’s also good. And I’ll be doing electrical schematics and cable diagrams, so more symbology and less drawing. Barring something strange happening in the next few weeks, I’ll start after vacation. So yay!
I made 2 batches of krispy treats - one with regular and one with cocoa krispies. I’m wishing now I’d dumped some peanut butter into the batch. Oh well… No biggie. Life is good!
You, Sir, are trying to eat your cake and have it, too.
