I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but the Wall Street Journal’s sports desk never ceases to amuse me. For the Olympics, in a very unsubtle dig at the coverage monopoly, they’ve created homemade highlights of events. They make me giggle. Here’s the playlist from YouTube. There are 6 of them so far. Highly sophisticated. Or not.
Sorry, Bobbio, I don’t have her contacts (other than what’s in her profile).
Off to explore a couple of second-hand stores in search of inspiration.
Well. It’s been quite an interesting morning. It turns out that apparently most of what I studied actually stuck. There was this one question, though… I’m hoping that I’ll at least get partial credit for my convincing diagram of structural task analysis (which I had to make up because it was actually a question about structural analysis). I spent the next 10-15 minutes alternating laughing and crying over my big oops. And so did my friend who clued me in to what the question actually was vs. what I thought it was about.
Then I ended up at the tire store because I happened to notice a strange gouge in my tire. It turns out that it’s probably been there for quite awhile as the tire had a broken belt which has been causing it to vibrate for some time. So now I have a happy slightly used tire and no vibration!
Next up is taking my grandparents to the beauty shop and grocery shopping.
Put the undies on the kiln! win-win. Until the undies burst into flames, but, you know, use oven mitts and a bbq fork, turn them once in a while, no problem!
today is blurf. Grody girly stuff. My first abnormal pap :smack: I know, I KNOW how common that is and how rarely it means anything serious, but while I’ve worked in health care, I have very rarely been the receiver of it. And the word ‘biopsy’ scares you awake no matter WHAT you find later on the web saying that it’s a 5 minute office procedure that’s less effort than the original exam. And I’m on my period now too, so not only do I have to wait nearly two weeks <due to their narrow scheduling of these procedures> but now I’m second-guessing every cramp and bloat. BLURF!!!
Cats go get shots tomorrow; this weekend they can explore the yard on purpose, yay!
I just spent 90-ish minutes playing in mud and tidying my studio. There are 4 new pieces drying in the cabinet, so yay for that! In another hour or so, I’ll start taking down the laundry. And before that, I should probably go back downstairs and empty the dryer and fold our unders and socks… I walked right past the dryer and didn’t think about its contents. :smack:
They sneak out the door behind me sometimes, and yesterday I discovered the front screen door doesn’t shut properly either, so they pushed it open and explored on their own for a good 20 minutes before I discovered it. :smack: We just moved to a new place, and they were indoor kitties in an enclosed condo area for their whole 4-year-long lives before that, so while I do want them to explore the yard, I want to wait until they’ve had their shots updated at least. Also, would prefer MrTao be there too, the first time at least; little orange cat, I am not worried about, but big creamsicle cat, well…MrTao is his pack leader, so to speak, so I’d rather he were there to pick him up by the scruff if the cat decides chasing birds across the street is a good idea.
Apparently in the world of Alzheimer’s it is ok to give marshmallows to dogs that aren’t supposed to have anything other than their prescription food and a few carrots here and there.
Oh wait, did I mention that the dogs were getting TWO BAGS of marshmallows a week?
Glad you liked my pics,** FCM.** I didn’t do much of anything today; a couple of errands and that’s about it. I’m fixin’ to fix dinner. Nothing grand; just going to saute up some onions, slice and saute up some taters, throw the onions back in, cut up some turkey kielbasa and throw that in there with the taters and onions, add a little chicken base and some stock, seasonings and that’s about it. Easy peasy.
