A retired one.
Blurf, y’all.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 90 and scattered p.m. thunderstorms. So, it could rain. Or not. Who knows.
Ok, that’s all I got for now. I definitely need more caffiene. Also, rumbly tummy wants to be fed as usual. Demandin’ thing! Irk purtification must also commence. Another day in paradise.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Good morning! I’m already showered, dressed, breakfasted, and mostly caffeinated. Today will definitely be finish-the-laundry day, as we are promised (yeah, right) rain tomorrow and Saturday. I’ve also got some eggs boiling - hardboiled egg sammiches have become my favorite breakfast of late.
**flytrap **- my degree is in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, but I’ve worked as both a mechanical engineer and an aerospace structural engineer. The contract for which I am being bid involves modifications to aircraft, which is something I did for 8 or 9 years. With luck, I haven’t forgotten too much.
**Taters **- the photos are gorgeous!! Is it bizarre that one of my first thoughts was “These would make great jigsaw puzzles!!!”
**Tugig **- another cool story! Out of curiosity, do the majority of the stories you’re sent out on make it on air or do most never make the cut? I suppose it depends on your story and what else is happening in the world, huh?
Two weeks from today, we board our ship for an 8-day cruise. I am very much looking forward to it. If you’ve never been on a cruise, you really should try it - they spoil you so good!
Happy Thursday, all!!
Oh, I forgot the big, irrelevant development in my life: got word from my old neighbor that The Property Formerly Known As The Vunderlair has sold. There goes my fantasy of winning the lottery and moving back to Cottonfield County.
I sincerely hope they like the place. I sure as hell did…
Aw, BBBobbio, surely there are other properties in the county that you could spend your lottery winnings on…
I am up and have studied a bit more although I’m not sure how much actually will stick. I just want to get this test over with. And I’ve decided to get the papers finished by next weekend so that I can put this class behind me forever.
So, um, blurf.
I knew it, you’re a rocket scientist.
Do these fellows need an Instrumentation engineer?
Heck, I don’t even know if they need me yet.
Two loads of laundry on the lines, and the third load will have to go into the dryer because there’s not enough space left to hang it all. We had a LOT of t-shirts and shorts to be washed, so the unders will have to run up my electric bill.
It’s Thursday. It’s supposed to rain which is good cuz we are in a drought and there is a hay shortage which will affect Bob teh Wonder Pony. However, my barn manager is a Godsend and there is no way she will let him down. She will find him the hay he needs.
I had my breafass and I’m still hungry. Maybe I will eat the saturn peach I was saving for later. Saturn peaches look like a smashed peach and taste really good. Never had one til last week.
I’m trying to decide between the Cayman S, a 911 and a mood ring.
Cool videos, tugig.
I took the day off today and am vegging before doing something fun. Still deciding what something fun will be.
Need to do some stuff around the house as well.
Congrats on the recognition, lieu. Me, I’d take the mood ring.
Back later.
Hugs.
GT
The mood ring is a lot easier to keep clean.
Every day I work I am expected to produce something - depending on whatever the day is. We don’t have enough people to let anything go to waste. On nightside I am one of 3 photogs used to cover all the news in DC and the surrounding area. That’s all there is.
It’s been a weird week coming back from vacation - Monday I had to deal with a reprimand I honestly deserved for writing an email to another station wherein I told them in great snark how poor their newsroom was - long story, they deserved it, won’t re-tell it now, but I shouldn’t have done it.
Then I ran up to Baltimore and did a story with Andrea McCarren on the music producer who produced the Sikh shooter’s music albums. He lives off of Caton Ave in South Baltimore.
Tuesday started normally - assist in running live truck at a double homicide in Arlington for the 5pm, then they asked me to go do the Sikh vigil by myself. Since I don’t play reporter all the time, I am usually pretty grumpy when they ask, but I went and did it. Having done the story on the producer the night before, I ended up wanted to make the Tuesday story not so much about a vigil but rather a response to the music of the killer. I was pretty happy with the results and that’s why I shared.
Last night was like most nights - hook up with reporter, here’s your story, go do it. What made this special was we had time to shoot it well, and an interesting story. Normally I shoot between 15 -20 minutes of video for a 1:15 story. Last night I shot 46 minutes of video for a 1:53 story. I passed it on to the MMP because it may be one of the nicest (video & editing) pieces I have shot in years. It definitely is going on my resume reel.
So that’s the long answer. Short answer - everything I shoot hits air, most of it I don’t bother to share on the MMP because it’s average local news fodder, not worthy of your attention.
On a side note Mom, do you have a catalog or some such of your wares? It occurs to me with the holidays right around the corner some personal creations for family and friends might be a good choice…
**Tugig **- I don’t have a catalog per se, but I’ve posted picsof thingsI’ve madeover the years. Most of what’s in those pics has been sold or given away, but it gives you an idea of what I make.
Since you live so close, why don’t you come over, see my studio, and we could talk about what you’d might like. As long as it’s something I could sell at the store if you change your mind, I’d gladly try to make specific items/colors for you. I’ve done custom orders before, right doggio?
I’ve also got a threadin the marketplace forum with other stuff I’m making and selling. You’ve got my number, so if you want to come by some day, you could count yourself among the exclusive group of Mumpers who have been to FairyChatEstates!
Mawnin all,
Just a quick drive by to say howdy, off to be a construction contractor for the day
JIM
I think I’ll do that, perhaps after you get back from your trip. My thought is with some conversation I can have you create special gifts that will really mean something.
I just found out I have to go to Sandy Yeggo for business soon. Anyone know how to get ahold of Ashes[sup]2[/sup]?
