You’re originally from FL; allow me to set you up with a fiend of mine, a Southerner.
He’s into fish/aquariums & plants - orchids & especially ones that will help control any flies you might happen to get in your house. ::<inserts eevil smilie>::
Actually got up and did something in the morning…in this case, went over to the other side of town and purchased a new Front and Rear door for the house. Just part of the gradual metalmouse Home Improvement Program. Painting the framework around the brick portions of the house will be done concurrently (doors get painted to) and that will be it for 2017.
All the ‘interesting’ weather seems to be staying south, so looks like soccer is on for this evening. Got to remember to take a whistle with me today.
I contacted my payroll office today to find out what I do about jury duty. I was told they need to see a copy of my summons. I scanned it so I could email it to payroll, and I just happened to see that there was a questionnaire attached that was supposed to be filled out within 10 days of getting the summons.
I don’t recall when I got the summons - I suppose I could check FB and see when I posted the happy news. No matter - I went on line and filled out the questionnaire, so I’m pretty sure I’m good.
Supper was a turkey-n-swiss sammich with a bowl of cantaloupe on the side. Not particularly satisfying, but **FCD **didn’t want a big dinner and I wasn’t going to cook for just me. Regardless of supper, there will be pie later.
sari, Nelson pees outside just fine. It’s #2 that we’re having a problem with.
spidey, garlic is always on my shopping list.
Got started on a semi new project today. Usually, I just help out with it, but now it’s firmly my project. Already, I’ve streamlined the process and will be able to do it much more easily.
I swept and mopped the linoleum floors today. Nelson has learned that if he steps on the wet floor, the evil steam mop will hiss at him. I emailed the preferred appointment time to finish his puppy shots. That should take care of the vet until around Halloween when he goes to get chipped and clipped.
So you were insulted when you thought I called you a friend, but not insulted when you realized I said fiend?
There you have it folks, flytrap does have (part of) one redeeming quality to him.
At least where I live you don’t really need to fill it out…& I won’t.
The very first question on ours is Marital Status:
[ul]
[li]Single[/li][li]Married [/li][li]Separated[/li][li]Divorced[/li][li]Widowed[/li][/ul]
I’ve yet to figure out why it’s so important to them whether you participated in a ceremony at some point in your life & the status of a person who is not you.
Why did the Frenchman dynamite his kitchen floor?
He wanted to see linoleum blown apart.
Try the veal
Planned stir-fry for dinner was not as the green beans was starting to be of the fuzzy variety.
Small rant: I hate it when I go into a public rest room and sit down on a throne and discover that it is not firmly bolted to the floor. If I wanted to ride the mechanical bull I wouldn’t be in the rest room with my pants down around my knees.
Wifey got a jury duty summons last week. If you’re over 70 in our state (Orygun), you can just check a box that says, (and here I’m paraphrasing), "I’m too old for this sht!"* and you’re excused.
I kinda liked jury duty when I had it, except they called me 3 years in a row and the last time I had to call them up and tell them to let somebody else have a turn.
Who cares? It’s all fun and games ----------- until someone loses an eye. At that point it can sometimes become freaking hilarious.
Irked a double today. Trying to make up for being a slacker last week.
I definitely could have done without tonight’s excitement.
Had a break-in. While we were home. DH was asleep, I’d been awakened about ten minutes before by the doorbell and knocking. I hadn’t thought anything of that, assuming that a neighbor’s visitor had gotten the wrong apartment. It did, however, wake me up, so I got up to web-surf until going back to bed was an option. Didn’t bother turning on any lights. Big surprise when the door to the spare bedroom we use for storage opened and I saw a flashlight, since DH and I are the only occupants and I knew he wasn’t in that room.
Screen is missing, some stuff’s knocked down and a wire shelf under the window has minor damage, but anything valuable was in a different room, so I don’t think we lost anything of significance. Police have been through, we’re now waiting for fingerprint people.
Eeek! Nettie, that is not something you want to wake up to. Glad to hear nothing’s missing but it’s still a shock when it happens.
'Tis a dreary wet autumn day over here. Someone should really tell the weather god that it’s meant to be summer and thus should be hot and sunny and DRY!! Instead, it’s all soggy and grey out there. Luckily I am in a dry office with lots of tea so I will survive the day.
Other than that, I am still avoiding a timetabling job that I really don’t want to do. I am managing to avoid it by doing exam stuff instead so at least I’m being productive while I sort of think about the timetabling thing, it’s a mass of problems that I can’t see an easy solution for, so ignoring it is the best thing to do.
**BooFae **- can you ignore it till you leave town, and let it become someone else’s problem? Not that I’m suggesting anything. Nor would I be so unprofessional… usually…
Nettie: :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I don’t know what’s going on around my left ankle, but it kept me up way too late last night. I thought at first it was bug bites from when I mowed, since I was wearing shortie socks, but there’s also a fair bit of swelling. I’m pretty sure it’s not poison ivy, but beyond that, I have no idea. I slathered on Hydrocortisone a couple of times, then finally got up and took an antihistamine. It was close to 11 when I finally fell asleep, but I don’t think I got even 6 hours of sleep. I’s tahred.
I came in to more crap on my desk from Josh. The boy’s keeping me busy, that’s for sure. Not sure if I’ll be able to take off on Firday or not. We shall see…
Thus begins another day in paradise! Happy Wednesday!!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 87 and cloudy for the day but only a twenty percent chance of rain. Forecast is the same at home so at least I know what weather I’ll be drivin’ in today, gloomy. That’s today’s big plan. Go back to da cave.
