I need to call Temp Agency #3 today. Irish Storyteller’s former recruiter gave him her card and told him to give it to me. Hopefully they’ll have something that isn’t in processing (Temp Agency #1) or call center work (Temp Agency #2).
While I’m waiting, I’m working on the next installment of my fanfiction series. It may be silly, but writing it is giving me the sense of accomplishment I desperately need right now.
It’s a beautiful N.O.S. cool day. It’s only 59 outside, so the windows are wide open.
How scary Nettie and I’m glad you are okay.
I didn’t get puppy pics yesterday. If I don’t get them later today I’ll send off an email asking.
The lawn didn’t get mowed yesterday, so that is on the agenda for today.
The credit card stuff didn’t get fixed yesterday, I was told I’ll be getting a phone call from the store and it will be handled in the main office.
I didn’t get around to calling the property tax people either, so I need to do that today.
Mom: Could it be a grass allergy? I’m not usually sensitive to grass but if I’ve been cutting it I tend to get itchy around my legs and ankles.
I called Temp Agency #3 and came up dry again. Sent off an application for a full-time admin assistant job at an accounting company. I have a few more jobs in my inbox that I need to tweak cover letters for later.
Glad to be of service. That is the great thing about the MMP; we help each other naturally if we know we’re doing it or not.
Awake and thinking about dinner and maybe working on the desk some before leaving for work. May just have to use Bessie today since everything is clear and I’ll have dust to blow off.
Nettie, that’s why you should be armed at all times. Personally, I have two arms on me at all times.
So the mom of GrumpyBunny is no longer a LumpyBunny. Hope it’s nothing serious.
So remember that race I did 2+ weeks ago, the one that was the subject of that MMP? They finally published results w/in the past 24 hours. Took 'em long enough.
Ikea trip did not happen yesterday (neither did the trip to the dump), because I wound up going round the Chinese supermarket with a friend instead, and the weather was so rotten I didn’t want to go back out. It may happen today instead, but my landlord sorta wants to come, but is also sorta hung over.
I mostly just need storage boxes and a few bits of crockery (I kept all the stuff from my old flat but housemates have broken almost everything that could be broken). Luckily, I know the secret paths, so I can get in and out fairly fast.
Nettie how brazen of someone to break into an occupied dwelling. Did you scare them away or just wait until they left?
Been organizing and doing a little cleaning. I have some boxes ready to take to the salvation army store. All good stuff. I have way too much clothing. Tis hawt here. I have all three a/c’s on as low as they will go so it will get cooler soon. If not I know an A/C man.
Irk called so I spent an hour trying to talk my only clerk into how to enter new tickets. She could only get so far and I can’t or won’t have her use my regional account so they will have to improvise until Moan-day. The two clerks that are leaving are still there through next Tuesday. That is how and why I decided to get a few days off. No word on when new hires can start. Soon I hope.
AngryWabbit Best wishes for your mom’s continued recovery.
Today more housecleaning. My folks, my sister, and my nieces are stopping here tomorrow on their grand summer road trip. Trying to get everything clean and neat (hahahaha).
Last night was a poor sleep night for me. Finally was able to sleep around 4 am. blurf
Nettie, quite worrying having a break in, glad you and family are fine.
AngryWabbit, hope your Mom’s recovery is smooth sailing.
Doggio, I’ve been two of the Iowa-Class ships (Wisconsin in Norfolk, VA and New Jersey in Camden, want to add the others (Iowa and Missouri, at Pearl Harbor). Enjoy.
Went out and bought a little red wagon, since carrying a big bag of soccer balls, 25 lb anchor bags and a cooler full of water uphill (both ways!!) is getting to be a bit much. But $129.99!! When did children’s stuff get so expensive!?!?!
Worked with 16 4- and 5-year olds yesterday. It is…differnt than working with 10-12 year olds. Mostly in terms of attention spans and getting them to do anything (especially if they don’t want to) or have them wandering off when you’re trying to do an exercise…sort of like herding cats. But then a couple came over and gave me a hug, so all is forgiven.
Today’s mission (weather permitting) is working with 8- and 9-year old boys and girls. At least I know what to expect from them (I hope).
You just had to get the one the said ‘Radio Flyer’ on the sides didn’t you? You can get much bigger carts in the gardening section for less money, ya know.
Glad your mama’s procedure turned out well wabbit.
metal mouse, I bought a Radio Flyer wagon in college. It was the perfect size to stack (and bungee cord) two laundry baskets to walk to the laundromat or bring home the groceries. Over the years, it hauled yard sale treasures, toddlers, firewood for the campsite and more. I took it to the scrapyard two years ago when the tongue rusted off. Taken care of, yours may well see you through the rest of your life.
I set up my next dental appointment and tried to get the FSA crap taken care of from the last one. Then I set up an appointment for Nelson’s final puppy shots. Now, it’s chill time.
Sari, I’ve found the perfect place for you to move! It’s closer to Baltimore, but the immediate neighbors are quiet. You can catch fresh fish literally inside your doorway. It’s cheap too, at only $15,000. Craighill Channel Lower Range Front Light Station.
Dinner was Froot Loops, because when I walked in I was too starvink to take the time to make anything, including nuking something from the freezer.
Worked, had home-made Chinese for dinner, and need to get to sleep. Have an early with the dermatologist/oncologist. Just a follow-up ---- nothing to lose sleep over. Other than for the “getting up way earlier than normal” part.
AFAICT, the discovery that someone was present and awake scared them off. Windows are better secured now, following advice from one of the police officers who came in. I’m seriously considering leaving a light on in that room at night for a while. Probably won’t use that much power, but will hopefully convince miscreants someone’s awake in there and trying an uninvited visit is a bad idea.
