Let's all have a good week in the MMP

Pretty!

Thank you, I enjoyed working on it. The designer is Debbie Rawley, she has a good eye for colors and writes amazing instructions. The instructions for this sampler were 135 double sided pages.

It’s gorgeous! It could be a meditation piece, like an icon.

Very pretty JtC. I’ve been checking into all my peeps in the Keys and it appears that there is some major flooding but the predicted 3-5 foot surge is not expected until tomorrow. Will be lots of destroyed cars. Since the storm is making landfall more south and sooner, the new projected path takes it near me. It will probably be near hurricane strength by then as it’s gonna hit as a cat 4. I got done today most of what needs doing. It’s pretty much out of my hands now. I do know the hurricane models were wrong this time. I know ppl in the Keys that would not have stayed had they known it would only be 70 miles offshore.

It’s raining now but not too hard yet. It’s also 2 AM so I must try for some sleep.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
Al you Florida Mumpers be safe. :hugs:

Stay safe.

Yay?

“Too much information”? How long have you been a Mumper?

Yay!

I hope they can address/fix things for you.

Sometimes when I’m asleep, Gordie will wake up and panic because he can’t see me. Dude, I snore and everything, it’s not like I’m invisible in the bed.

I’ve had 2 beagles and a JRT that couldn’t hunt anyting below Medium Well. Last time I had a pup that had hunting abilties was my childhood dog Cindy, who was a SBD(generic Small Brown dog).
And nifty quit!

Yep; they finally released the grades 3 days before graduation, which I thought was a little insane, especially as some of my cohort were coming over from other countries… So far as I know no-one unexpectedly failed though.

Umm, sounds like maybe you do have squirrel assassins; who would you like them to assassinate?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 56 (BRRR!) Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 78 and N.O.S. for the day. I do believe it will be a good day to open up da cave windows and air the place out. Today we procure provisions and then much sloth and general overll uselessness shall ensue. Sup shall be boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit, and cheesey garlic bread just cause it’s easy to do.

JtC nifty quilt! Poor GG. Don’t all those people know they are there to visit him first and get cheese or beer second?

Butters stay safe. We had a cat one hurricane come through here four years ago. That was my first and I hope last hurricane experience.

Floaty you are the front winner for this week’s most TMI post. We do like good TMI up in here.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, bother of bothers, I suppose I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. This will be two days in a row. It is most unbearable!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

In the late 90s, when we were in our 40s, we had a primary care doc we referred to as “Doogie” because he was so young. He was a good doctor, but OMG!! At our ages now, they’re pretty much all kids!

Alex, I’ll take “Things I never expected to read on the internet” for $400…

BTW, I’m sure I said it before, but you do beautiful work!

I saw your garden pics on FB - sure hope Ian isn’t too hard on your plantage - your yard is really pretty!

I’ve often wondered about the first time medical folks do certain things, whether it’s drawing blood, making an incision, inserting a catheter… all that fun stuff. I expect after multiple times, it’s no big deal, but is it weird at first?

OK, woke from another weird and very disturbing dream. I was working, and my boss pulled me in to tell me I wasn’t doing a good job. So I decided it was time to resign, but I didn’t know who I was supposed to notify and I was hoping that on Wednesday I could make my resignation effective on Friday. Bearing in mind that I have no idea who the boss woman in my dream was and that I haven’t been gainfully employed for almost 3 years now, I have no idea where the dream came from or why it upset me so much. So bizarre is my brain!

Ian’s predicted path is now more south and east of Ocala, which is a relief for us - the in-laws won’t get the brunt as was predicted earlier this week. With luck, they won’t even lose power. On the other hand, the path takes it very close to or over Jacksonville. That’s where we get off I-95, on to I-10, and then to US 301. So, will that area flood? Will trees fall across the roads? (Especially 301) Will we have issues getting thru there on Sunday? That’s our plan, so I guess we’ll wait and see.

FCD was feeling ick yesterday - I think it was a combination of the shots on Moanday and the stress of this move. He seems to be back to more or less normal this morning. Roxy should be going to school, so I’ll just have the little snot monster - did I mention he’s got 3 teeth now? And he’s able to stand on his own for several seconds? Can walking be far off?? And OMG, is he a little garbage disposal, cramming handsful of food into his little face. So far, we haven’t found anything he doesn’t like.

Not sure what’s on my agenda today since I did the laundry yesterday. I have things I’d like to do outside, but he’s too young to amuse himself without close supervision and I can’t just take him out in the stroller. So indoor we shall remain.

Happy Wednesday!!

@JaneDoe42
Your needlework is exquisite!

JtC That is a beautiful piece of fabric.

Up, sheveled, off to the shop, or maybe I’ll stick here until the rains pass, then hit up the lumber yard on the way in. Why drive an extra 20 miles?

Morning all. Up with a little cold starting to build, comes with the changes in temperature especially at night, but not enough to bother me. Pill taken and paper retrieved; will be going out this morning to pay the property taxes, so that’ll be fun. High today is expected to be only 71F, so look like the 90F days are done (probably just jinxed myself).

JtC, between Floaty’s first suppository and your cougar poop, this has been a very…interesting…MMP and we still have the balance of the week to go…and loved work as always.

My doc is an older man, not as old as me but probably into his 50’s, so no kids practicing on me for now.

Butters, stay battened down and safe.

OK, do my morning internettin’ then make myself presentable for the government minions. All y’all have a good hump day.

I have nothing to do today. The joys of retirement. I will go to the gym, stop at the expensive sto’ for safflower oil, come home and sloth.

Nuts whereabouts in Scotland are you looking? I wanted to retire in Scotland, had the whole thing figured out, then the U.K. changed the law. Grrr.

Got a babby napping on me as I sit in FCD’s chair. So I am forced to sloth…

Four inches of rain since last night. No wind yet.

Sonny boy was able to get a gas can and some gas so I can keep the fridge running should the power go out. I think we are going to get 90MPH winds unless it changes its path again. I feel bad for the folks on the other coast.

The poor ppl in Key West are flooded and the surge is not expected until this afternoon on top of a King tide.

The hard rain broke my biggest coleus but I put the limbs in a small trash can of water. They will root hopefully.

Stay safe all.

oh yes im sure youre getting yur arm twisted …

Slept very late (for me), not getting up until 0730. Nine hours of sleep is way too much for someone my age and I feel groggy from it. I think we’ll drive down to the lake today and walk a bit. A nice, sunny fall day for that sort of thing.

I haven’t had any luck finding Anaheim peppers locally. Don’t know why. So yesterday, we went to the nearest Latino mercado and bingo! Roasted them up yesterday for a future green chili stew. Also scored some hot sauce, a jar of salsa verde, and some refried beans. A nicely stocked store with tons of dried red peppers for future carne adobada and the like.

TFW you neglect to mark “watching” on the MMP thread, then forget about it for a couple days. :grimacing:

I’ve actually read most of it, but no way can I respond right now, so the usual hugs, yays, boos, trouts, chitlins, and whatnot all around.

Happy Humpday to all the M-F-ers out there. TGIW for me!

Babby napped a bit over 30 minutes. He’s been fed, I’ve been fed, FCD has been fed.

Daughter called - I have to take the kids to get their last COVID shot tomorrow because she has a prior commitment. So SIL will bring them both in the morning, and after they get shot, I take Roxy to school.

Always something.

i remember something being said about a nice quiet stress-free retirement. might I ask when that actually starts ?

Brace yourselves for the grocery bills when he’s a teen.
