Somebody got a good deal on shingles in Montenegro.
Well, the plumber visited and I have a leak in the internal piping, maybe down to the slab floor. Going to need wall removal and maybe some slab concrete removal. Have notified my home insurance company that a hit may be coming and if they want to send out an appraiser. The plumber has a colleague with with a device that will pinpoint the leakage and they can then get about fixing it. Problem is the guy can’t come until Monday.
Oh joy.
Cha-CHING!!! Big score at Food Lion!
They’ve got some sort of promotion going for MVP card holders. I knew about it, but I didn’t know all the details. I stopped there on the way home today because I don’t feel like cooking, and I got a rotissed chickie, plus some pepper jack cheese for my sweetie, some american slices for grilled cheese sammiches, and a carton of 18 eggs. The grand total was 30¢!! Apparently I earned a $10 credit from the last time I shopped there, and there’s another almost $5 credit applied.
I looked at their website - I’m on my way to earning more credits, but I need to make a list to be sure I get all that I can. YAY for good rebates!!!
Supper tonight will be chickie, instant smashed N.O.T. (Judge ye not!!!) and probably peas-n-carrots. Easy, which is the whole idea, since I’m flat-out exhausted!
**MetalMouse **- that doth sucketh mightily! Ah, the joys of home ownership…
An acquaintance plumber fro, work chiseled out a piece of concrete to fix a leak in the slab at Mama Plant’s house. Let us know what the device is like; I don’t know how the guy I paid found the leak.
FYI - there’s a photo of my grandbaby-in-progress on my FB page. OK, it’s my daughter in profile…
She’s still got a bit over 2 months to go - hope she doesn’t explode!!!
We have supped. The Pubic Sto’ makes good breaded hot 'n spicy chikin wings.
MetalMouse sorry for the plumbin’ woes. As MOOOOOOM said, ah, the joys of home ownership.
Well, I’ve eaten BBQ all over the country thanks to a job that kept me on the road for 25 years…I like all the styles, but am partial to the Eastern Carolina sauce, thin, sweet, tart (lotsa vinegar, I suppose) and sometimes hot, mostly because I associate it with being at the beach…and I can’t honestly say I’ve had Western Carolina sauce…what’s your preference and what’s the difference?
I ate at this place somewhere in South Carolina outside of Charleston that felt like you were stepping back in time, they cooked in pits out back, the place was grimy, but who cares, the pork was amazing and sauce was very similar to what I would associate with North Carolina, so I’m guessing that’s a coastal-type?
Something cool just happened a minute ago. I was listening to some music on YouTube, and my roommate was singing some different music outside my room - and for a tiny bit of time, whatever she was singing had the same little sequence of notes as what I was listening to. Pretty neat.
Too mundane and pointless to put anywhere else, so here it is.
Supper was yum. I’ll pop some melatonin around 7:30 or so, then crash early. I need a good sleep. I feel out of it - very bizarro…
We watched the Rizzoli & Isles TV series when it was on and one time I started reading one of the books, until I thought to myself “I saw this on TV!” So I looked up the descriptions for a couple of other books and I’d seen those plot lines on the TV series too. I guess they mined the books for plots.
What makes you think he’s ever going to move out?
Yes.
OMS had his stitches out today and he’s running around as if nothing ever happened. ![]()
I prefer my BBQ sauce sweet and vinegary, but I’ll eat almost any kind. And put it on pork please. Or chicken. And yes, I’m one of those infidels who puts cole slaw on pulled pork sliders.
Happy birthday Gordie! :skritches:
emily, I like St. Bernards. They tend to be mellow fellows.
spidey, you can do hot water in teh keurig, but don’t. If it’s regularly used for coffee, you will wind up with water with a vague coffee taste. Not enough to be good, mind you. Don’t make tea in a coffee keurig either. At my irkplace, we have one bank of machines for coffee and two on another counter for tea.
WalterWhite, aadd a bit of tomato paste to eastern Carolina sauce and you will be pretty close to western.
Hot dog! I actually got Q4 presentation turned in before the deadline today. Not bad for losing a week in January, training two new recruits and a new supe. Go me! Leftover pirogis and cabbage rolls for supper.
Great news. My travel claim from Sept and Hurricane Irma has been finally input into the system at DFAS so I hope to get reimbursed for travel expenses. Only 5 months later. Probably 6 by the time it is actually paid.
I am taking tomorrow off to clean the house and do laundry. Then surgery on Thursday.
yum priogies and cabbage rolls
I had frozen beef and broccoli for dinner. Tai Pei brand, which isn’t too bad.
I’ve been wanting saur beef and dumplings again, but I don’t know if any place up here makes that.
Maybe next time I go to the armpit I’ll head over to my friend’s house. There’s a restaurant near her that makes it.
Bumba - I have no reason to believe he will ever move out.
I think sooner or later he’ll have to, it is the natural order of things.
No hurry though, he can finish school first.
I’m glad OMS is doing better.
Happy Birthday Gordie!
That sucks mightely MetalMouse. Is it your heating system as well?
Isn’t free stuff grand FCM?
I still have plenti points and Macy’s is having a sale.
I have to use them up soon though as Macy’s is no longer participating in the program.
I’ll have to check out the pics on FB.
Good luck with the surgery {{{Butters}}}.
It’ll be okay.
Ripple has been exceedingly naught today. I told him I am going to send him back to his biological mom if he doesn’t straighten up.
My parents have decided to sell their house before the bubble bursts and move closer to my sister. The only problem with this clever plan is the sheer amount of stuff that they have. The last time they moved my sister lived in DC, so I helped. This time it will be her turn I imagine.
I met someone yesterday who knew someone who had trained a migraine service dog. I am most excited. I have been put in touch with this person, but will probably not follow up properly until I am home.
Sari somehow I don’t think that Ripple has to worry too much.
I skimmed, but didn’t retain all I should. Hugs to all, just 'cause.
Well, I moved out for girls.
Translation: MamaPlant threw him out.
Part of the reason I moved out was for freedom.
My father was master of the house and as long as you lived under his roof you lived by his rules.
However, I am not my father and I am a lot more easy going when it comes to ‘the rules’ of living in MY house.
In other words, I have not made it so unpleasant to live here that he would want to move out.
For myself, I don’t care if he ever moves out. He does his thing and I do mine, and he does a lot of the heavy stuff - moving the lawn, shoveling snow, vacuuming up leaves, washing windows, carrying in groceries and heavy packages.
As much as he didn’t want the cat he helps take care of him, other than cleaning the litter box. He does carry the heavy litter in for me. He really didn’t want the puppy either but he does a lot of the work there too.
He pretends not to like them but he really does, and he plays with both of them alot.
Of course they both adore him
For his sake, he needs to move out, but he can finish school first. That is the most important, get through, hopefully with no to minimal student loans.
AAAAWWWW!!! I’d have loved to snuggle the puppy myself. ![]()
Currently reading: We Need to Talk About Kevin. I find the narrator a rather loathsome human being so far.
Turns out scrambled eggs were not an adequate dinner for me. Hope the Easy Mac cup finishes off the appetite for the night so I can manage decent sleep.
I once had an even better score at Stop & Shop, by careful shopping, I had enough points to get 20 Gallons of gas free. Yes, I have photos showing the gas at $0.00:D
That’s OK and actually neat to me. Today/yesterday I was singing a little snippet from an old cartoon to myself but sort of out loud (“I’m bringing home a baby bumble bee”) and one of the PAs walked past and asked where that was from. I explained and she said she had just heard another person on the opposite corner of the building singing humming the same tune.
