Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 87. Feels nice and coolish outside right now. I’m sure the water in the pool will feel coolish today. Actually I know it because when I took a dip after mowin’ Thursday evenin’ it was coolish after all the rain earlier in the week. Should be nice though.
Today is hang at the pool day. MOG, JDD and Partner and another friend are comin’ over. I shall grill dawgs and brats for N.O.L.. ‘Twill be fun and relaxatin’. I also have chikin thawin’ out for tomorrow. We’re goin’ up to JDD’s folks tomorrow to celebrate Father’s Day with JDD’s father. He lurves fried chikin so I volunteered to fry chikin for him. I shall do it here at da cave early tomorrow mornin’ cause it’s easier for me to do it here and take it up. Havin’ those totes that keep stuff warm for several hours comes in handy on occasions like this. Oh, and we shall not deheathenate as goin’ to deheathenization on top of fryin’ chikin and gettin’ it up to large and in charge Parrott, Jawja is just too much. So, I shall remain in heathen status for a few days.
Now I need more caffiene and sould consider brekkie as rumbly tummy is hongry.
Up and caffeinated. My “just friend” went to the beach for a girls weekend. I am working today, and slothing tomorrow. If Gordie gives me a Father’s Day present, ultraviolence will ensue.
I’ve been up for the last hour and am sipping my vat o’coffee.
I’ve got errands and some minor tidying to do today, and then we’re going out to dinner with some friends.
After that, it’s back here for some 99. I went grocery shopping yesterday and picked up the fixings for my lasagna. My husband asked me to make it for Father’s Day, so I will do so to be nice.
I reek of insect repellent. I’m starting to offend myself.
After 2 days of working hard on the boat, I was exhausted last night, and I crashed pretty early. We slept in, with minor bladder interruptions, till 8. I started the sprinkler in the back yard, and walked the fertilizer dispenser around the front yard - one big bag was just enough - woohoo!! I’ve now got the sprinkler working the front yard so the fertilizer can start fertilizin’ our new grass.
Meanwhile, **FCD **is getting ready to drive to Annapolis to check out some special material we’d need in case we decide to fix up the boat. I was going to go with him, but I need to make sure the lawn is watered before it gets too hot - it’s 59° at the moment, but the sun is up and the sky is clear, so warmth is on the way… He’ll be gone about 4 hours, leaving me unsupervised. Oh, and he’s got to go back to Johnstown on Monday thru Weds, so I’ll be on my best behavior then, also.
After he gets back today, we’re going to the Harley dealership for their Father’s Day open house thingie. I really hate motorcycles and I wish he’d resign himself to not riding any longer, but it ain’t gonna happen, so we’re going to look around and I’ve got to fight not to be snarky the whole time. But I swear, I find all things motorcycle-related to be BORING!!! And the thought of Mr. Five-Spinal-Surgeries-So-Far getting back on a bike is pretty terrifying. The things we do for love…
Oh, and the first tomato on one of my plants is starting to turn red. YAY!! Thus beginneth another grand and glorious day in paradise!
**JIM **- Just stand clear of the **swampster **if lightning is in the area. Otherwise, I don’t think there’s too much danger. He’s one of the Mumpers I’ve met IRL and overall, he’s pretty harmless. Dunno about the head Whiskeypalian Diety, tho - he might not appreciate being snubbed for fried chicken… unless he’s southern, too.
Yup, Swampy is good people, I’ve met him IRL too. I probably scared him to death because I gave him a big hug upon meeting him in person for the first time.
Also, FCM is good people too! I met her IRL and she drove clear into DC to pick me up and go out to dinner with me when I was back there for some work related training.
Awwwww, Taters, how could I not have driven up to meet you for dinner? After you flew ALLLLLLL the way across the country just to see me (OK, and there was that training stuff.) I hate to ask, but how long ago was that? I know I met **swampy **8 or 9 years ago, just before I left Flarduh. And I first met **BBBobbio **right after we moved into this house. And I met **gt **and **kopek **last year (or as it the year before), and **Tugig **is my most recent acquisition. I am bummed I didn’t get to meet **tarra **before she disappeared into the desert. Plus **CatDude **was in Baltimore and he met my sister, so that’s one degree from him. Oh, and I was in Houston about 7 years ago and I got to meet **Rebo **and **lieu **(who doesn’t visit us much any more, does he??) I think that’s all of my personal Mumper connections…
Well, that was novel. I just got flashed by a 4 year old.
There I was, minding my own business mowing the back yard, and the neighbor’s son is playing by (not with) himself in their back yard. On the next lap around my yard, I looked up at him, and there he was with his pants around his ankles and a two-handed death grip on his wedding tackle.
The next lap around my yard, he was still at it but then decided to drain the ol’ lizard, and pulled his drawers up when he was done. About that time I saw dad, so I mentioned it to him.
“Yeah, I saw it too. Jeez kid, if yer gonna pee, get it over with and pull them up…”
For all you pervs, no, it did not turn me on. All I thought was boys will be boys.
I went to bed last night around 8:30 after consuming pork fried rice, an eggroll and beef with mushrooms. Oh, and a Planter’s Punch. Probably that’s what made me so tie-tie. Got up around 7 so according to my calculations, I slept around 10 hours. And I could go back to bed now since it’s 11 am.
Howdy Y’all! Takin’ a opportunity to drop by whilst the fries are doin’ their thing in the oven. Dawgs and brats are done already. Partner made a really nummy lookin’ broccoli coleslaw that I can’t wait to taste. We shall have us a yummy N.O.L.
I don’t think swampiguana has quite the same ring as swampbear but it’s nice to know that no matter what animal I may be I am always f-aaaaaa-bu-lous!
Oh and a Whiskypalian missin’ deheathenization durin’ Summer is always acceptable. Missin’ cocktail hour, however, is very much frowned upon.
Had a nice, fun afternoon at the pool. Everybody has gone to their respective homes or wherever. Chikin is salted and peppered and in the fridge all ready for tomorrow’s early mornin’ chikin fryin’ marathon. Life be good!
I snuck off to Costco and got my husband his Father’s Day present. I was going to try and sneak it into the house and put it together myself, but that box was a real PITA to wrestle.
So, I gave him his present a day early. I got him a new chair for his computer desk. He was well pleased and really likes it. The chairs we have are looking old and tattered.
Costco only had the black chairs and that’s what I would have chosen anyway. It’s very comfy and padded. It’s also heavy as hell so it should last a good while.
Our friends should be here any time now so we can go to dinner.

Taters that’s a nice chair. My desk chair is from Sam’s. It was a floor model that I expected would fall apart at anytime but has lasted ten years and still comfy.
Soon I shall begin chikin fryin’. I decided we needed some thighs in addition to the laigs and boobs. That’s mostly because I like chikin thighs.
I shall now consume more caffiene, feed rumbly tummy and get busy.
