Live from Raleigh, It's the MMP!

He is SO cute!!! Please give him extra cuddles on my behalf.

That fascination he seems to have with those shelves is funny.

Working 12-close today, on little sleep, with a big sale. Ugh.

GT, Isaac is sure a handsome boy!

alien, once I get sprung, it looks like I’ll be put on the non rat poison option. Lock up your cheese.

Good luck with the job search, nuts!

Will the new churchhouse be sided in brick, swampy? We havean Episcopal church down the street from work in that style that isand is quite pretty.

They cut me loose long enough for a shower this morning. W00t!

Off to work through the storm. Have fun, y’all!

: passes Red the cheese platter :

Yay for your cousin, Herbs!

It’s raining! HUZZAH!! We went to DQ for a treat and now we’re home. Lazy, lazy day…

Thanks for all the compliments. Yes, he’s very fond of the metal cart. We’ve emptied it so that he can have his very own puppy condo as long as he fits in it. (It was headed to the basement anyway.)

We’re in the midst of figuring out what Isaac-proofing means. And, of course, wearing him out is helping. It doesn’t take too much at the moment, but I suspect that will get harder. We’re scheduling Isaac-related activities so that we’re splitting up taking care of what he needs.

If any of you have tips on bringing up a reasonably-behaved Husky, please share!

Need to run some errands and get some stuff done in the garden.

Hugs all.

GT

Awww, cute puppy!

Mind you, I think possums are cute too. I think most critters are kinda cute, come to think of it.

Shortly after my last post, I got a text saying “Why aren’t you at work?? You should have been here half an hour ago!” sigh. Not only is he saying he texted me yesterday, but he’s also claiming I replied… O_o

Apparently the magic disappearing text also asked me to work a 13 hour shift tomorrow, so I might just about be able to manage the rent this month! Hooray for rent money! I’m still looking to shift jobs asap, but it’d be great to not have to dig into savings or sell any kidneys in the meantime.

{{Anyone who had to visit the horsepistol}}

Howdy Y’all! Missed me today? Mowage of the church yahd was accomplished by 9:30 this mornin’. Go Us! When I got back to da cave, I took a shower and then we had brunch. I made ham ‘n cheese omelets, grits, and cheese toast. After that I took a little nap cause I was tahrd. Then we had cee-mint pond time. That was followed by the grillin’ of dawgs for dindin. In a bit I think I shall have myself a nice whirlpool bath just cause. I also yanked a smoked <snerk> butt <snerk> outta da freezer this mornin’, which will be put in the slow cooker with some sauce tomorrow mornin’. I made some coleslaw last night for dawgs today and for bbq sammiches for N.O.L. tomorrow. Go Me!

gt Isaac is a keeeeeeyooooooootie!

Red the church house will be bricked. doggio we’re Whiskypalians. That means there will be beer and wine in the kitchen, all within staggerin’ distance.

Nuts yay for gettin’ the irk. Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for some better irk down the road.

Sari yay for free 'script. Hope the medical stuff is all figured out soonest.

Midget yay for sheet music gettin’ bought!

Herbs yay for cousin gettin’ sprung from the horsepistol!

I think I covered everything. Hugs, yays, boos, noogies, wedgies, woohoos, trouts, chitlins, how you doin’s as needed for anything I missed.

Keep him both physically and mentally stimulated. A busy dog has less time to get into mischief because he’s bored. Make sure he has plenty of “his” stuff to chew on and make sure your stuff (shoes, furniture, TV remotes, etc) are kept of his reach. When he messes up (and he will) let him know in a firm tone. Make sure he has his own hidy hole, be it a crate, dog bed, favorite corner. Brush him often so he gets used to it. It took a long time to get Polar to let me brush him for any length of time. Play with his feet so he gets used to the idea of people touch his paws. This will make nail clipping time much easier. We didn’t have this luxury with Polar and I’m lucky to get two or three nails clipped at a time when I attempt to do it myself. Usually I end up having to take him to the vet and they have to sedate him.

You’re lucky in many respects because Isaac still such a young puppy. You’ll be able instill good behavior and training while he’s still pretty impressionable. Polar was two years old when we adopted him from the Humane Society. We had to break a lot of bad habits and let him learn to trust males again. It was obvious he’d been abused by a young male or perhaps several young males.

That being said, Polar still does stupid stuff. We can’t ever leave a cube of butter or cream cheese on the counter. We can’t leave our food anywhere within reach of him if we leave a room. When we occasionally forget, we come back to butter that has disappeared and him licking his chops. He gets a time out in the outdoor kennel when that happens.

I’ve been washing blankets and stuff today. I haven’t done much else.

I know some people who keep possums as pets. They just seem to have too mAny teeth for my own good, so I never went to their house.

I think my gallbladder was trying to get my attention earlier.

gotti yikes! Hope it’s not gallbladder trouble, but if it is, get it taken care of soonest, ok? We can’t go through what we did with BBBobbio again. Plus we don’t want you sick.

Feelin’ all tahrd and sleepified. OYKW says he feels the same way. Therefore I declare it to be go lie upon the bed, snuggle, watch teevee and maybe other stuff time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

:digs out from under lesson plans and waves hi:

:dives back in the pile:

You’re not from the States, are you? Trust me, if you ever run into a possum walking through the backyard in the middle of the night and hear it hiss and see its millions of sharp pointy teeth, you’ll be revising that “cute” verdict pretty quickly.

I’s tahred. I spent too much brainpower trying to figure out a logic puzzle. Stupid grid-based logic puzzles.

I’m beginning to think tha the future Mumper Estates better havea really good medical facility. :stuck_out_tongue:

Aww, the puppy’s got little spectacles on his eyes!

Thanks for the tips, Taters. We’re also lucky because the breeder got him started on good habits. What would you recommend for mental stimulation? Also, what kinds of chew toys does Polar like?

I’m tired and have the 6:30 potty trip/early walk, so I’m trying to go to sleepy-bye.

Hugs all.

So work was a tiny bit insane. Had 2 people complain because we don’t sell tobacco or booze without ID(I just flew in, I don’t have ID!:dubious:) Also the group of hoodlums was screaming that I was following them around.(I wasn’t following you numbnuts, I was following the noise and devastation you left in your wake). Almost a pity they didn’t do more, there were 2 cop cars in the parking lot the whole time they were in the store.

gotti, hope the bladder doesn’t keep acting up.

Midget, yay for sheet music sales!

Nut, yay for magically appearing irk!

Sudoku?
Seriously, get a Kong, fill it with treats or frozen peanut butter. It takes brains to get it out.

Good morning!

In about 5 hours, the “hostage exchange” should be complete. That’s how my sister is referring to our meet-up in the Bowie McD’s parking lot where I’ll give her a couple of bags of stuff and she’ll give me my mom and her baggage. It’s a convoluted process. Sis who lives nearest Mom will drive Mom to Sis the Bartender in Baltimore. Then Bartender Sis will drive Mom to Bowie where I’ll go to meet them and bring Mom here. Then tomorrow, **FCD **will drive Mom and me to Dulles airport and the adventure will begin.

Apart from the hostage exchange, I need to make some egg salad today for my sweetie. I forgot all about it, but I’ve got a dozen eggs that need to be boiled up. Not that it’s a huge deal. I’ve also got to cut up a cantaloupe and make sure the freezer is properly organized so **FCD **can find the few things he’s willing to cook. Last minute details…

We opened the house last night. It’s cool and not to humid - with luck, we can keep things open today. Later in the week, the HOT is supposed to return in earnest, so I’m escaping just in time. But according to 3 of the cities we’ll be visiting, the UK is in for pretty much a week of rain. Of course…

Oh, and I heard an owl when I took Higgs out this morning.

Happy Sunday!

Up, caffeinated, and off to work. Laundry afterwards.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 98 for the day and maybe rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon/evenin’. We shall see.

Today’s plans include deheathenization (I get to ush), N.O.L., and goin’ up to large and in charge Dawson, Jawja to visit JDD’s father in the nursing home. It’s been about a month since we’ve done that and JDD told me his father has been asking about us. This means it’s time for a visit. Don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but JDD’s father has alzheimer’s. He knows who OYKW and I are, but is not real sure how he knows us, so in his mind, we’re two of the “boys” who grew up with his children. Hey, if’n it works for him, who am I to judge. So go visit we shall.

doggio my personal favorite is “my ID is out in the car” followed by, “I left it at home.” I’ve never had to deal with someone sayin’ those things to me, but I’ve heard both of ‘em enough standin’ in line at the likker sto’. So, go out to your car and get your ID. Of course with the second, the person, who likely drove to the likker sto’ is driving around without a license. Then again, I am such a regular at the likker sto’, and such a creature of habit, I think the clerk starts ringin’ up my order when I walk in the door.

MOOOOOOM y’all should all show up in trench coats and dark sunglasses. That’ll give the folks at MickeyD’s sump’n to talk about.

::Waves at StickyBuns::

Okay that’s all I got for now. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Plus, Ima peel 'n slice some N.O.T. for french fries to go with the bbq sammiches for N .O.L. Of course, at some point, purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y"all!

One of our cats has suddenly become terribly sick, and i doubt he can be saved. I have to drive him to the vet when it opens. I hope I can pull myself together to do it.
