Well, I didn’t bowl tonight. Not only am I gimpy, but there were flash flood warnings most of the evening. I got drenched just going to and from the truck to the pharmacy. Nice evening to stay in.
Dinner is eaten(hebed and breaded chicken, saged rice, and spinach and portabellas).
Bummer about the A/C Flytrap.
Sorry you couldn’t bowl, Red. I need to see if I can find a league this year.
No, we didn’t stay out all night - I just didn’t get back on line after supper. So you can stop fretting.
I had the shrimp tacos again - they are *soooooooooooooo *good!! The serving is 2 and I wanted more even tho I couldn’t possibly have fit any more in my tummy. I think that’s my new favorite at Salsa’s.
It’s really hit **FCD **that I’ll be gone for a month. He’s lonely already. Poor guy. He will have a few crabber days, and I hope he does some rides with his HOG chapter. Plus I asked him to make a chair or a bench or something to sit upon for the blue bedroom - that will take some time. He’ll just have to survive on emails.
Last night he did find a site that shows the location and track of the cruise ship, so he can follow my journey. So there’s that.
Today is for house-cleaning - specifically, the bathrooms. I’ll do a good bit of vacuuming, too. And I’m thinking I might cook and chop up some chicken - I’ll freeze it and my sweetie can make chicken salad while I’m gone. He’s not much for cooking, but I think he can thaw and mix, and if I bag single servings, he won’t be faced with eating an entire batch before it goes bad.
I need to get the freezer organized and put the easy-to-cook things all together. Then I need to write up some detailed instructions - history has shown that if I say “Cook in microwave” the default is 20 minutes on high. **FCD **can do a lot of things really well, but cooking ain’t one of them.
I also need to wash and pack the afghans and shawls I’ve made. My sweetie will take them to my mom’s when he comes to pick us up next month. All these last minute things… hope I don’t miss something important. Like my passport.
Happy Thursday!
Mornin’ all.
Another interview today- I actually already had one at this place, but it was about a year ago, so maybe it’ll go better this time. I can only hope.
Your version of ‘last minute’ is very different from my family’s Mooooom; last minute is as we’re getting into the car, and organised packing only starts the night before. Both me any my parents have discovered that the ticket was from a different London airport than the airport we’d booked transport to while on the way there.
We’ve just all got good at dealing with chaos now.
What if I tell you that the ghost of the possum went into my car and tried to break my timing belt shortly after?
**Nut **- one of my more delightful personal quirks is the tendency to over-plan and over-organize things. I’m also inclined to feel like I’m late if I don’t arrive early. It may take a little spontaneity out of my life, but it also tends to lessen the stress, plus I enjoy planning - sometimes more than the actual event!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 98 with a heat index around 108. Firday and Sattidy will be temps from 100-102 and heat indices around 110. ICK! Needless to say there is a heat advisory in effect through Sattidy. Next week promises some rain. We shall see.
Spaz when you ran over the possum, did you get out of your vehicle and go look at it to determine its edible possibility? If you did, that counts.
flytrap bummer (as doggio said) about the a/c. Had to replace mine four years ago. I got bids from a bunch of places and then went with the first one which was not the cheapest, but from a place that is really reliable. They’re great about service.
MOOOOOOM don’t forget to make sure FCD has plenty of TP while you’re gone. If he has bread, cheese, peanut butter, and jelly he’ll be good to go with grilled cheese and PBJ sammiches. That would be grilled cheese sammiches or PBJ sammiches although I suppose he could have a grilled cheese and PBJ if he desires. He’ll be a bachelor. He can live on the edge!
Red sad you couldn’t bowl. Bad knees and ick weather are good reasons to stay in though.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Blurf.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To prove to the possum that it could be done.
**swampy **- there are 2 unopened 12-packs in addition to the rolls staged in each of the bathrooms, so he’ll be good for TP. And, believe it or not, he loves grilled PB sammiches, as long as it’s not crunchy PB. He likes the smooth stuff. I like crunch. So we have 2 jars of PB in the pantry.
And he knows where the deli is at Food Lion, so he’ll have other sammich makin’s. I’m hoping he’ll maybe occasionally get a rotissed chicken - besides having some for a dinner, he can chop up the leftovers and make chicken salad or sammiches. I’ll add that suggestion to the note.
Happy Thorsday!
It’s cloudy out and looks like rain.
I was bad and didn’t go to the ER last night.
Nothing on the agenda today but irk.
Just heard the shower turn on, so **FCD **is up. I need to go get in line for my turn!
Dang it’s hawt out already! Both [del]minions[/del] assistants (btw, they like the idea of bein’ minions :D) are out and about today takin’ new apps. They’ll be out all day as each one of ‘em has three lined up to take. I, bein’ the good boss, told ‘em to head homeward after the last one even if’n it ain’t exactly eight hours and count it a full day. As far as I am concerned doin’ all that out in the heat is a full day. Y’all just wish y’all had a boss like me.
Of course, this means da bear will be bzzy gettin’ all that paperirk in and gettin’ start dates (the goal is week after next) for everybody, gettin’ ‘em all set up in our system and all that there stuff. However, yay, new folks startin’ which is always good.
Ok, back to irk now.
There can be only two.
Only if you took it home after scraping it off of the pavement.
Around here we have a saying: “If you wait until the last minute, then it only takes a minute.”
Swampy, minions is a very cool word. I’ve always liked it. When I was on my last ship, I referred to the 40+ boys and girls who worked for me as “my minions.”
Up, caffeinated, and off work.
swampy, Gordie is my only minion.
the humid! it hurts!

If you don’t hurry, Ziva & Taz will jump in front of you because cats just so love bathtime, as evidenced in these pictures[sup]*[/sup].
- Warning: Internet pics of pretty little putty tats.
Continuing the theme, here’s one of our previous cat post-bath. I’m surprised the glare didn’t melt the camera. ![]()
And here’s one of the same cat all clean and dry. ![]()
