Live from Raleigh, It's the MMP!

Well shoot, when I opened the garage door to leave early this am I saw crap all over the driveway, condom boxes, sanitary napkins stuck to my house, vile words written in toothpaste, toilet papered trees, a bunch of crap in the fountain, wrecked landscape bushes, etc. At first I figured it was someone from my kid’s school but my wife said several neighbors out walking told her it had happened elsewhere and we should call the police. So we did and apparently these jokers tried to break in to a convenience store several blocks away right beforehand. Fortunately I have security cameras so maybe between mine and those in the store we can get a good picture to distribute. Dangit, I’m dreading seeing everything in the light of day when I get home. Apparently the toothpaste damaged some paint, our front door, etc. I’ll probably be a little PO’d.

Appendages (appropriate and inappropriate) crossed for you, nuts!

Mooom, make sure FCD knows that the deli has salads and a veggie or two also. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nettie, your former kitteh was a pretty one dry.

The knee is beginning to loosen up a bit, but still gimpy. Getting older stinks sometimes but it beats the alternative.

Ack! That sounds awful Lieu! I’m not sure if there are enough pointy stick wieldin’ spiders to deal with those charming folks.

Interview was a waste of time; it lasted all of 2 minutes, they didn’t bother asking anything, and the job was neither enough hours by itself nor compatible with what I’m doing right now. No use, in other words.

However, I took advantage of the fact that I was in town and all purtified up to go register with a bunch of temp agencies, so hopefully I’ll get somethin’ useful out of the day.
I now have sore feet from walking into town and back- about 4 miles, not counting all the walking round the centre when I got there- in interview shoes. Owwie.

lieu, that just sucks. I’m sorry that happened to you. I hope they catch the punks who did it.

My husband’s car is still in the shop. Since my son is heading back across the state today, I had to stay home so my husband could go to work. I have plenty of vacation time and he doesn’t have much left. I am just dreading the bill. The money we’re supposed to have coming in still hasn’t arrived either. I am beyond pissed about that because it should have been here almost three weeks ago.

We’ve started the day with our infamous “marine layer”, so it’s relatively cool and comfortable right now. The clouds are supposed to burn off and we should reach mid 70s today. Tomorrow will be slightly warmer and by the weekend we should see 80s again.

I’m sad to see my son go again. I was glad he was nice enough to stay an extra day so I didn’t have miss work yesterday. Besides, I just like having him around. He’s starting his final year of college. I can’t believe it. It seems like just yesterday we were dropping him and his stuff off for his first year of college.

Ack! A couple of you snuck in and posted while I was posting. I’m sorry the interview didn’t work out**, nuts.**

Allie sends hairballs and litterbox deposits to Lieu’s vandals, and Ava’s working up some spectacularly awful PCFBBs (Post Cat Food Bird Bombs) for them.

In other news, textbooks for three of my four classes are now in my possession, and it’s still up in the air whether the fourth will even require a textbook. I’ll know by Monday, most likely, and will be able to notify employer if we need to buy one.

lieu that sucks! Like Taters said, I hope they catch the punks. GRRRRR! Pointy stick wieldin’ Sri Lankan paratrooper ninja spiders ain’t good enough for 'em.

Nuts sorry the job didn’t work out. Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed the temp agencies will come through for ya.

{{{Taters}}} it is hard to believe the youngest tot is startin’ his senior year! Here’s hopin’ the money shows up soonest and the repair bill is not too bad.

doggio actually you are Gordie’s minion. It is you that does his biddin’.

‘Tis ever so hawt out. The temp says 92 but the heat index is like 104 accordin’ to the weather guy on the teevee a few minutes ago. I like Summer but this is kinda ick.

{{{Lieu}}} that sucks the big one. I’d be beyond pissed.
I took a bit of a nap, I needed a longer one.
Twenty nine more days. I feel like I should be doing something but I have no idea what to do.

**lieu **- man, that sucks the big green weenie! Some people…

**Taters **- your baby boy can’t be a senior already!! That’s not possible - surely you’ve miscalculated.

**sari **- didn’t you volunteer to weed my garden? I’m sure you did!

Whew! We went to Waldork because FCD’s sneaks were beyond dead. He replaced them with the same model - now he has grungy sneaks for the shop and dress sneaks for goin’ out on the town! We also got a charger for the GPS - the one we had has been repurposed on the motorcycle so we needed one for the car. And I got a pretty scarf to take on the trip - one final accessory.

When we came home, since the bed had been stripped anyway, my sweetie helped me take off the mattress and foundations and sort thru the gazillion shoes beneath. He threw away 5 or 6 pairs that should have been dumped eons ago. Plus I found my snow boots that I wanted last winter. Plus a pair of his flip flops that I think I’ll take on my trip - they’re a nice neutral brown and much better than the cheapies I have.

After the sorting, etc, I vacuumed the carpet under the bed for the first time since it was installed 7 or 8 years ago. I swear, the canister had enough cat hair to build a new cat or two! Even on the gray rug, the gray hair stood out in clumps! But it’s clean now, and the bed is reassembled and remade, except for the spread, which is still out on the line. So it’s been a productive day so far. I need lunch - I’s hongree!!!

Sometimes when I’m dealin’ with somebody who just will not listen, who will do the opposite of what I say, who will it would appear go out of his/her way to NOT do somethin’ he/she is supposed to do, the only explanation I can come up with is this person has sudden onset demon possession. There can be no other explanation. Ok, maybe a double dose of the stoopid gene is a plausible explanation, but I am leanin’ toward demon possession.

IOW off goes da bear to deal with another problem child. Mayhaps I shall stop by the church house and get some Holy Water first.

Sudden Onset Demonic Possession. SODP.
Better take Steve’s bat. Better yet, take Stevie the Bat himself with you.

I have brunched. Next up cleaning the kitchen! Then I will dust and vacuum. :looks at Moooommmm! :

Sorry the interview didn’t pan out, Nut.

Lieu, that sucks. Hope they get the vandals.

Glad the knee’s a little better, Red.

Bummer bout being stuck, Taters. Glad you got to see your kid, though.

Pretty kitty, Nettie.

swampy, no, he’s the minion. Admittedly, my bidding is generally just “SHUT UP GORDIE!”. I am a benevolent overlord, and provide him with 3 hots and a cot, and the occasional belly rub.

And it’s not SODP, they’re actually Pod People.

SODA is an acronym for Pod People, or those suffering from Sudden Onset Demonic Possession are Pod People?

Trust me, pod people have more sense than some of the folks I deal with on a daily basis. Anywho, situation solved for now. I’m sure there will be more SODP in the future.

In other news, it’s thunderatin’ outside. I suppose that’s better than thunderatin’ inside cause that would be just disturbin’.

Well, my son is on his way back across the state to school. Sigh…it’s already too quiet here.

I’m going to miss him.

I suppose I should get busy and do something around here.

So sorry about the vandalism, Lieu - that’s worse than vandalism, actually, but I don’t know what to call it. :frowning: Hope the cameras will provide enough info to nab em. Taters, it’s so hard to believe how fast your children grow, isn’t it? My son started his first teaching job on Monday, although he’s been coaching their football team (JV) since the beginning of July. (Our sons share the same first name, btw. :))

I hadn’t heard from my cousin in VA since last Friday; come to find out she’s been in the hospital since Sunday! According to her husband, she had a GI bleeder and had taken 4 units of blood. I am so worried for her! Please keep her in your prayers; she hasn’t been herself lately, and I suspect she’s probably depressed on top of the medical issues. Also, her bp was so low she could barely stand. She’d told me that she’d been having problems with very low bp. So, prayers for my cousin, please. Thanks.

Sari, you should have gone to the ER yesterday, I hope you’re doing okay today. Sending healing thoughts your way.

Glad that tomorrow is Firday; I think we’re going to try my cousin’s recipe for cheeseburger casserole. It includes pickles!

Link to recipe??? Prayers and white light headed towards your cousin.

Does it have Cream of Mushroom Soup in it?
Before you make this, I believe that you should speak with you Physician or Clergyman. :dubious:

We ran to Food Lion to get **FCD **some lunch makin’s. Turns out the county (or state?) is tearing up the asphalt on 5 as it passes the shopping center where the Food Lion lives. Needless to say, the traffic was pretty crappy. Oh well, it’s done.

The physician would likely veto it on the grounds that it’s a casserole, it has to be bad for you. The clergyman, however, would ask if you were making it for the church potluck.

Hope they catch your vandals, lieu.

Sorry about the interview, nuts. You were wise to take advantage of being dressed like a grown up though.

Well I’m convinced and I am heading out to the ER.
Of course I have to get cleaned up first and it’s good timing because the asshole just came back.
A friend is going to drive me and the doctor knows I am coming.

I so do NOT want to do this.
It’s probably nothing but who knows.
