I can’t say I blame Mr. Cheerio for being more than a bit surprised, Haze. Your life has a plot that’s possibly even more improbable than a soap opera. Did you try to explain what was going on, or did you just leave it at that?

I just left it at that, since I didn’t want to bore his friends with my melodrama. The really funny part was that this was AFTER I told him about the whole Cloud Maiden thing, in a kind of “I expect there to be more drama from you” way. I should sell my life story to Hollywood.
wanders in, stumbles over large pile o’pronouns and CAPITAL LETTERS in doorway
Okay, who left this mess here, huh? I suppose you expect ME to clean it up? I think not… hmph!
Up early with five hours of sleep, drinking cawfee like a madwoman… Grandchild’s theater group is performing at Saturday Market today and of course I gotta be there. Then it’s off to Vancouver for the SO to finally install a computer he did a build on like a YEAR ago–they’ve taken THIS LONG to clean out the room it needs to go in. Yeah, I’m so looking forward to this trip! Well, I think I’ll take along some covered buckets and help myself to a bunch of their poop pile, they have a donkey and goats and ducks and geese and chickens and rabbits and up until last weekend a cow so there should be a whole bunch of free garden glop–the trip shouldn’t be a total waste. Besides, I’m figuring it’ll be crappy inside or crappy outside and at least outside there won’t be a millenium’s worth of cigarette smoke, hyork!

A bunch of old accounting textbooks, and I need to skim over my fantasy and romance shelves to pluck out what I won’t read again.

any humor fantasy in your collection? I’ll pay postage.

Chocolate? Where?
Mr Cheerio still hasn’t called yet. I’m debating whether I want to just assume the lazy bastards have become lost in the world of Wii and just go to the park by myself, or wait a bit longer. (I suppose I could call them, but I have a weird aversion to calling people that borders on a phobia.)
GT, I’m giggling myself silly over the different names for the Coleus on the site you linked. I’m particularly fond of “Murder Suspect”… but then again, it would be the logical choice for a red-splattered varietal, no? The “Religious Radish” is gorgeous, BTW.
Haze, you may as well write off Mr Cheerio for the rest of the day. Something happens to the male ability to sense the passage of time when video games are involved.
We just finished tidying up our garage so that we could finally get the bikes out of the basement and into a more convenient location. I’m dirty and sore, but it’s wonderful to have some room to maneuver in the laundry room again. It’s still too chilly to put more stuff in the ground (and the soil is too wet from two days of drizzling rain anyways), so gardening will wait until next weekend.
In about an hour, we’re going to slap some bronto-sized beef ribs on the grill and slow smoke 'em for 4-5 hrs or so. I found them on sale at the grocery store last weekend and squealed like a Valley Girl (normally, all you can get here is short ribs, which are equally tasty but not nearly as yummy for slow cooking)… I guess I was channeling swampus for a second there. Sides will be apple and fennel slaw and some roasted N.O.T., I think.
OK, time to rinse off the garage gunk and get some dinner started.
Busy working, so just interrupting for quick message to snowbunny since I assume you’re at work today: Your aunt is out of the hospital and doing much better.
You guys are jumping the gun here! I haven’t even started to pull through the shelves… I might not get to it for a couple weeks yet, and it might take me longer because I have stuff I need to go through all over the place. (I’m trying to get to a place where I don’t feel overwhelmed by everything in the house… things is much of it isn’t really mine and I have to keep pushing to get it done without resulting in a meltdown on both our parts…). I’ve been trying to purge for a long time now, and Mom has issues with letting things go for many varied reason I can’t and really shouldn’t get into here.
No humourous fantasy, sorry. The ones I’ve read I mainly borrowed from the library.
