Thumbs up to the writers on the “Black Rock”. I was expecting, well, a big black boulder.
Yeah, this mystery goes back further than we expected.
Black Rock is a sailing ship. Late 17th century? or newer? I need a better look.
Looked more early 19th century to me. But I too need a better look.

What did Sun’s letter say?
Next week will absolutely kill many of us. I can’t wait!
Did anyone else flip open the laptop and start trying to find out anything about a real instance of a missing ship called Black Rock?
These guys are panicking over nothing. THe Others are just trying to elect a new Pope.
TV shows don’t make me cry, but I got more than misty-eyed over the whole dog bit.
I love this show.
I shoulda recorded this one!
The hull did look newer, not quite as tall and a bit longer than what first came to my mind. Maybe a clipper?
And I meant 18th cent, not 17th, my dyslexia sometimes screws with me like that, as I forgot which way the century tag pointed.
Yeah. NOW!

Man, that was a moving episode. I was about to mist up myself when Sawyer told Jack about his father.

Emmys! Truckloads, mountains of Emmys! Well written, with some new twists to old mysteries (TCM: The Home Security version!), and very well acted. I was very pleased with this episode, and can’t wait for next week’s season finale.
How do they know they are on an island? Maybe I missed it, but I don’t remember anybody climbing to a point high enough to see 360 degrees of water. Certainly no one has walked completely around it on the shore.
Overall an excellent episode. I loved the bits with Walt & Shannon, Jack and Sawyer, Jin & Sun. More answers than I can shake a stick at and plenty of creeps. I did feel that the scene with the Marshall was a bit too much of a recitation, but otherwise great stuff.
Apparantly, there was an important trading port and privateer haven in Mass that was/is named Black Rock. Played an imprtant part in some wars of the Napoleanic era by means of sailing vessels based from there. Possible link to our island?
Just before that, Locke said “We were all brought here for a reason, Jack.” Or something like that.
I thought Claire was screaming “She killed my baby” but I may be wrong.
Got another phone call this week (I know, I know. I’ll tell him not to call next week.) and missed everything after Shannon takes the leash from Walt. Anyone? Please?
The girl Jack was talking to in the bar has been signed on as a regular for next season. She was in the tail section of the plane. I smell a second set of survivors somewhere!
In the teaser for next week, Claire was screaming “he took my baby” (I thought)
Why would Charlie deck Sayid?
