Lost 1.24/1.25: "Exodus, Part Two"

Oh, and that “missing scene” starts with Danielle eating a raw egg out of the shell.

Did they talk about Lost on Good Morning America ?

Somebody mentioned they were going to show a deleted scene from the finale. Did they?

I overslept. :smack: :wally

Okay, does anyone else besides me think that Hurley’s wink and thumbs-up to Walt was more than just a casual gesture to a stranger? They really looked as if they knew each other.

The slave ship was in awfully good condition to have been there for over a hundred years. There was a curious lack of rust or dust-it was really noticable to me and surely that wasn’t a simple detail oversight on the writer’s part. Maybe there’s some time-travel/time warp factor involved?

TCM looked as if it was “cloaked” sort of Predator-style, to me. And it also reminded me of the swarms in “Prey” as someone further up in the thread mentioned. Definite mechanical sounds however-my theory is that it’s a combination of mechanical and supernatural elments controlled by, ummm, ahhh…I have no idea.

I also think that Walt probably did know what was going to happen if he left on the raft. He may have not known exactly what was going to happen, but I think it scared him and that’s the reason he burned the raft. And also the reason why he sent Vincent back to the island.

Anyone else think that raft will drift over to the other side of the island and join the survivors from the back of the plane, starting off the next season?

Discussing things with my wife, we’ve decided that Walt’s good luck cancels out Hurley’s bad luck. Now that Walt is no longer on the island, they just have Hurley’s bad luck. Then again, Hurley gave his money to his mom in the note, so they may not have that either, thus maintaining balance.

My wife also noticed the “cloaked” appearance of the TCM. The noise it made dragging Locke was definately mechanical to me. “Anchor chain”, I believe someone said. Is there any signifigance to the observation by Sayid that there were no footprints around the beacon of smoke? And thirdly, they said that the “3rd from last scene” would be very important. What was that…Danielle’s statement of “They wanted the boy?” Questions, questions.

Yes, but she’s been living on an island her whole life. I didn’t get a good look at her, and I didn’t tape the show so I could look again, but 16 years of sun damage is bound to do a number on a person’s face, nevermind any other environmental/dietary concerns.

But the CFL doesn’t look like she’s fared too poorly for being alone 16 years. From a physical standpoint that is. There is still the C part to her name.

Actually, I was going to post this as a serious possibility. It has been established that Charlie’s a practicing Catholic; maybe he just wanted the statue.

Well, that would explain why he grabbed a whole one, rather than just the little sacks of heroin.

On TWOP, they made the interesting point that it wasn’t just Hurley’s luck working overtime trying to keep him off that plane–almost all of the mani characters almost missed the plane:

Jack couldn’t get his father’s corpse loaded
Sayid got nabbed by security
Kate & the marshall had problems getting his guns on board
Charlie had to take the time to fix
Locke had to get carried on
Sun almost left Jin
Claire had to work some shenanigans to get a ticket a such short notice
Arzt got stuck behind some guy in the security line (“You wait until now to take your computer out?”)

The only ones who didn’t have a noticeable problem were Sawyer, Michael, Walt and Jin–the four who left on the raft…

Anyone rewatch Locke being dragged through the forest? After Jack jumps on him, you can clearly see that he is being dragged by tendrils of black smoke.

I’m glad there’s nothing I like to watch on Thursdays.

Now I can rewatch this episode and spot all the things I missed that you’re all talking about.

I’ll count the scenes and see what the third to last is.

Great episode!

My thought about BOP people:

If the FOP people saw the black smoke from the others, don’t you think they would have seen smoke from BOP peoples fires?

MtM

I guess I missed an episode or something. I’ve seen mentioned a conversation a character had with “Rose” wherein she says she knows her husband is still alive, and that she is sure the people who were in the tail section think the people in the front section are dead.

Could someone fill me in on this? Who is Rose? What was the context of this conversation? Is there a more complete transcript of the conversation available anywhere?

Sorry, one more question I forgot to ask in my last post:

For that matter, what’s the evidence that there even are “BOP” survivors as well as the “FOP” survivors we’re familiar with? And is it supposed to be just that they’re on another part of the island, or rather that there’s some sense in which the two sets of survivors are inaccessible to each other? (Wierd space/time warp stuff or something?)

-FrL-

Rose was sitting next to Jack on the plane. Her husband was about to get airsick due to the turbulence and bolted to the bathrooms (don’t remember whether fore or aft). He hasn’t been seen since the accident, and she hasn’t been seen since the fifth or sixth episode.

The reason people think there are BOP survivors is that Boone found a radio and said, “We’re the survivors of Oceanic flight 815”. The response sounded to some people like “No, we’re the survivors of Oceanic flight 815.”

Re: my previous post and people not making it onto the flight… was there a problem with Boone & Shannon? That kinda blows my theory except Boone’s dead and Shannon’s real pretty.

Okay, that doesn’t help the theory either, but she is real pretty.

Im guessing the Others started the fire, from the boat. As in they pulled close to shore, started the fire and got back on the boat. Hence no foot prints into the forest. They did this probably knowing the CFL would warn them, get Michael/Walt on the boat and away from the other passengers. All the better to kidnap him.

Great freaking season ender! Love it all, cant wait till next fall.

Is it a slave ship? That seems unlikely, assuming that the island is in the Pacific (and how could it not be in the Pacific?) It could conceivably be a penal vessel carrying felons from England to Australia – I believe that traffic went on well into the mid 1800’s.

What do BOP, FOP, and red shirts mean?

BOP = back of plane (Anna Lucia, et al)
FOP = front of plane (the people we’ve seen)
Red shirts = a non-principal character brought out to primarily to get killed, see “Star Trek”

BOP = Back of Plane people

FOP = Front of Plane people

Red shirts, by my understanding, is a reference to people not here for the whole time, most likely going to leave by dying. I’d assume it alludes to college sports, like college football.

Humorously enough, when I worked at Universal, we would bus old folks in to help with the busy seasons, and we called them “Red shirts” because they were always wearing a red Universal t-shirt as their uniform.
