Has anyone been reading the diary pages on the ABC Lost website? The current one seems to contain a fairly major spoiler related to Not-Henry Gale, as well as a minor spoiler about something else we’ve been discussing here :).
Thank you!
I jsut rewatched the Candadian preview, and (spoilered just in case)…
It looks like two people are caught in the net trap: Jack and Sayid?
We see Locke agonizing over the “?” from the door map, or maybe trying to draw the map from memory.
We also see a very evil looking smile on Henry Gale’s face.
I can’t wait!
You’re welcome!
Spiler-boxing this, just in case:
The producers have said that those diary entries are written by folks at ABC and are not canon, nor approved by the producers, nor necessarily based on any inside information. It’s addressed in the first question on this page (a TV Guide gossip Q&A):
From Farley_C: Aha! The found letter on Lost’s ABC site is written by Rose, who thinks that her brother, the real Henry Gale, is in the hatch. Am I right?
As I mentioned in the column, I asked Damon about the diary writer’s identity (which many of you want to know, I know) and he graciously gave it to me straight: “It’s on the ABC site, but we [the producers] are not necessarily generating nor fact-checking content. We are sort of aware of it, and we sort of pitched the concept, but it sort of went off the rails a couple of weeks ago, talking about Henry Gale being their brother, and you know, we were a little surprised.” So, bottom line, you can still read it, enjoy it and search for clues in it, 'cause Lord knows it’s a good, fun read. But let’s not lose sleep over it, okay?
Spoiler box it for us. (Also, be aware that the diaries have been called into question by the creators before.)
Some random thoughts/replies:
LOST schedule question: next week is new but in two weeks there’s a two hour Alias? Is that right? Any idea how many eps until the season finale, and when that’ll be? Not looking forward to that despite my yen for summer in general.
I too though Sayid and AL were doing the good cop/bad cop thing, since it seemed pretty staged, but then again, who knows? Those two seem to be getting along surprisingly well.
I don’t doubt that there are magnets in the walls, but how the hell would Not!Henry know that? Jack et al know because of the key, but would some random guy hearing the humming immediately say, “Magnet!”?
My first thought upon seeing the enigmatic Mr. Eko building was, “Oh, it’s a church,” but maybe he’s just building more permanent shelters? I mean, those blue tarps are kinda flimsy, as Sawyer found out.
re: Hurley and his guilt complex about the deck collapsing-- it would be interesting if that particular flight crashed because he was on it, wouldn’t it? If Dharma Initiative took the plane down in part b/c Hurley was on it (due to his use of the lottery numbers), then it’d be very much parallel to that deck collapsing. This is not to say that Hurley was the only reason for that plane being selected for the island, but it might have been the Deep Dish that broke the camel’s back. Poor guy’s going to lose his shit if he finds out he was the reason…
Ok, the things I was mentioning from the diary page are:
- Regarding Henry: The author of the diary refers to him as "my brother."2. Regarding what Eko’s building: “[Charlie] and Eko invited me to stay and help them work on this church that they are constructing.”
It occurs to me that the platform collapse/deaths of bystanders is precisely the sort of “bad luck” Hurley experienced after winning the lottery - except that it was clearly prior to his winning the lottery. Hmmm…

Charlie snaps fingers: “I’ve got it! It’s a church! It’s a church, isn’t it?!”
Eko: No, Charlie…
Eko flips the structure over
Eko: It’s a gallows. And you’re my first customer, Baby-Stealer!
John Mace, thanks! We have more new eps ahead of us than I thought, which is good news.
Here’s the church, and here’s the steeple. Open it up, and here’s the gallows!
So nobody buys my WAG that Pseudo-Henry is the head honcho on the island? I think Hanzo is dead, and Henry is the top dog.
Or maybe they’re powering The Matrix.
Locke was a **building inspector ** before he worked for the box company(remember he told Sayid’s 'friend" the house was ok?) So, maybe he was below the deck that crashed because he was inspecting the building, and that’s when he was hurt.
Could very well be.
I’ll buy your WAG about the fake Henry if you buy mine about the “real” Henry.
Did anybody else notice that Eko dipped his hand in a tub of water and then made the “sign of the cross”? It was not the traditional way but it sure looked like he was making the self blessing.
I was rather surprised that Jin was able to pull an enraged Hurley off of Sawyer so easily. Sure, Jin is muscular and agile, but Hurley is so much larger than he is that I thought Hurley would just shake Jin off and go back to pounding on Sawyer. It was good to see Sawyer get his butt kicked, though.
