Very cool episode. We got some nice close-ups of The Others. Did anyone notice there were a few fairly young Others-- looked like teenagers to me. I like that Michael was being hidden right near them during the big encounter between Zeke and Jack/Sawyer/Locke.
Concerning the vaccine… doesn’t it have to be kept refridgerated? And it’s not so odd that Claire would want it since she went to the Medical Bunker specifically to get the vaccine they were giving her there. Maybe she’ll wait until the bay-be gets sick again.
And yes, I was rolling my eyes like crazy when Jack just caved in to Michael and his ludicrous plan. It wasn’t even clear that he beleived Sayid when Sayid tried to explain to him what was going on.
Maybe the connection between Jack and Kate and Sawyer and Hurley is that they are receptive to psychic suggestion. I assume the hallucinations were just that-- hallucinations. But what about Sayid seeing backward talking WAAAAAALT! Maybe that was an unauthorized suggestion from WAAAAALT himself, rather than something The Others initiated.
I’m guessing that Locke is just sick of not being the center of The Island’s attentiona anymore and is going to go sulk. Or maybe he’ll try to join forces with CFL.
Not 24-enough for me… they could cross the island in 10 minutes and Sayid would’ve been able to access the CIA/FBI/NSA databases via the transister radio…
While this statement resonates with me somewhat, I confess I’m still hooked solid. With 24 I find I can now take it or leave it, but Lost has me addicted. In spite of how stupid the main characters are behaving.
In my book I add Hurley into the sympathetic camp. While he’s certainly not behaving as insightfully or intelligently as Sayid, for him to become the wise leader (or advisor) would be inconsistent with his character. Not his character, but the character he plays.
I guess as I think about this a bit, most of the characters have such large flaws that their moronic behavior is somewhat consistent with what we could expect. Except for Jack. Jack’s an idiot. And Eko. I’m really disappointed in Eko too.
Did Ecko know that there was some kind of magnet pulling on his cross or did he assume it was a sign from God telling him to stay in the hatch?
Was I the only one waiting for Libby to come back to life lying in the bottom of the grave? I was almost sure that was going to be the big suprise at the end. The whole gang was standing around, they kept showing shots of her lying covered in the grave, they showed Locke unrapping his miracle healed leg, there was only 5 minutes left of the show. I was sure she was gonna start wiggling in that bag.
I think Desmond is on the sailboat. He probably tried to flee the island but some"thing" keeps him from getting away.
I think that’s a good guess, although in classic “Lost” form we’ll have to believe that his sailboat just sat somewhere untouched for 4 years. It looked like it was in pretty prime condition.
Eko’s cross was tugged on by the magnet? I didn’t notice that. I can see how he’d take that as a sign to stay, though. But will he never leave the hatch again?
Thanks, WhyNot, I knew there was a proper word for those things.
Was Charlie tearing down the church, or trying to continue work on it?
I guess we can assume that Fake Henry did get caught by accident. I had mroe or less assumed that he got caught on purpose in order to infiltrate the group and finish Ethan’s task.
I think the dog bringing him the statue is a good sign, like he’s supposed to be finishing the church. How many churches were built because of visions of the Virgin Mary? I refuse to consider the heroin aspect of it all. Instead of a floating image of the Holy Mother, he got a dog dropping a statue in front of him. Same thing, freaky-island style. He’s hallucinated enough!
Here’s the thing. If fake Henry was supposed to bring them a list, and got caught before he could complete his mission, where did they get those names? I’m guessing they came from their interrogation of Walt, but why would they need Henry to go make a list, if they already had a Lostie who could tell them all they wanted to know?
The three minutes that Michael was given with Walt. He ended up with less time in the end, because Walt was saying things that the Others didn’t want him to talk about, but three minutes was promised.
Oh yeah, forgot about the scene with Charlie and Vincent, “Did somebody put you up to this?” The look of absolute glee on Vincent’s face while she was retrieving the statues was priceless. Maybe she was inhaling a little? That dog is just a great actor.
I agree though, there is something hinky up with that dog.
I, too, did not like how easily Michael became a killer and I’m still hoping there was an “You also have to kill Ana Lucia” deal in there somewhere. Maybe she was the deal in order to get the boat?
Interestingly, The Others didn’t put Claire or the bay-be on the list. I think we can safely assume that she wasn’t let go on purpose (since Ethan was willing to kill to get her back).
what the… lady, you speak english. Try this: “Hey! There’s a boat!”
I think Locke either took off for the Pearl, or to get a head start on the team heading north because he figured his leg, while mostly healed, would slow him down enough that he wouldn’t be able to keep up if he followed them. Also because if he can uncover the trap ahead of time and rub their noses in it, that would be sweet. He could be like Dustin Hoffman in Little Big Man… “I think there’s actually a couple dozen Others, and they’re all hiding in the hills, and they’ve all got guns now, seeing as you keep giving guns to them. Good luck and all that.”
Dude, he’s spry. And he’s known as a warrior back home.
Good point. Hugo, maybe. But no way for Sawyer. So then where did they get their information? Who else did they have contact with? They had Claire for a while, and Charlie for a bit too. But I don’t think either of them knows.
So, let’s work this backwards. Who knows Sawyer’s real name?
