Except… most of these aren’t actually spoilers, they are speculations.
If it’s information from a spoiler site, box it. But if it’s just your own speculation – no need to spoiler box it.

What if it’s a speculation, wrapped in a spoiler, tied up with a WAG?
re: the screencaps…
Definitely make it more interesting… and maybe it’s a way for them to play that out… we (the audience) no Sayid saw what/who AL shot at.
So, I’ll leave it open… maybe AL did not shoot shannon… but, she’s still dead.
Clearly, Shannon, when seeing Waaaalt, assumes he’s real and not a vision or ghost of a dead kid. Obviously she’s going to assume Vincent could follow his trail.
Fair enough…
Unless it is speculation based on spoiler sites, as much of this has been!
I meant to throw in a so you would know I was not trying to be snarky. So, sorry if it sounded that way.
I’m thinking, that AL really had no true hand in Shannon’s death. How great for the Other’s though. Once the tribes combine there will now be some serious disharmony. A boon for the Other’s as tempers flare and people possibly begin to scatter from the main group. (Pure specualtion, of course)
Shouldn’t Tlaw be saying “!hhhhhhSSSS” ?
Well, one things for sure… Sayid will know one way or the other if it’s a gunshot wound… he may not care, or he may ask “what the hell just happened”?
And it was a valid point that Shannon “thought vincent could follow walt’s trail”… I was looking at it that WE know walt wasn’t “really” there.
Either way, Vincent took Shannon to “them”…
I wonder if the writers are aware that Labradors are good Newfie dogs that were originally bred to help fishermen drag heavy nets out of the sea…
Indeed he did, which raises many questions, eh? Does Vincent *sense * these Walty-like apparitions? Was he trying to lead Shannon to Michael and the gang?
Is the Waaaltthing a representation of something sinister or is he/it trying to help? Is the dog evil? Obviously I’m being very simplistic with this line of thinking but any more deep speculations and my head will explode.
People, people, people. You’re all overlooking the obvious.
Vincent the dog went to Boone’s grave because of what he would find there:
Fresh meat!
When debating gunshot or some other type of attack, we need to remember poor Goodwin. He was the guy that Echo saw speared to the log.
I agree with this. Since I visit so many spoiler sites, it’s possible that any speculation of mine is tainted by something I’ve read or heard, I think I’ll box all of my speculations.
I never liked the character Shannon or the looks of the actress, so I don’t care that she’s gone. Neither do I care about her brother. But this critizism falls a little flat for me.
In real life, people change. They also change back and forth, go from good to bad, do bad things for good reasons and good things for bad reasons. I think it’s interesting - and one of the major reasons I watch the show, that these few flashbacks of Shannon (which so many think is pointless) have managed to flesh out her character enough to hint at the complexity of what it’s like to be a real human.
Most of Hollydumb are satisfied with presenting us with cardboard cut characters and show a very linear progression how how their personalities evolve (if at all). Someone else upthread said something about how meaningless it was to have these charcters (Shannon and Boone) on the show, since they had empty lives and didn’t contribute.
But that’s the thing. Some of the people on the plane wasn’t there for a reason. They only happened to be there - from the POV of the story. The writers used Boone as a device to make smooth expositions for Locke and when the charcter of Locke was firmly established, Boone was just dead weight.
But from the internal concistency of the story, the people on the Island don’t have to be there for a reason.
Well, despite all this “who killed who” business… Artz still wins the award for “Best Death” in this show.
Nobody else has yet died more spectacularly, and with as much irony (teaching them how to handle dynamite safely).
This has been brought up briefly, but not really addressed: did Sayid actually see Walt, or not? He told Shannon he saw him, but the camera work implied that he didn’t. They showed Shannon’s face, then Walt, implying that that’s what she saw, then they showed Sayid’s face, followed by a shot of the jungle where Walt was, but with no Walt there, implying that Sayid didn’t see him. Then they did Shannon and Walt again, just to drive it home.
I’m not positive, but it seemed like they were saying he was lying to make her feel better.
But Boone did have a purpose – he did contribute!
Specifically, if Boone hadn’t fumbled the flashlight catch, letting it fall and make the metallic clank, they wouldn’t have stumbled on the hatch. So Boone’s ineptness was instrumental in finding the hatch. (After that, one might argue that he had fulfilled his purpose… :D)
I don’t know about irony, but I thought Sucked-In-By-The-Engine-Guy in the Pilot episode had a pretty spectacular death!
True, but Arzt’s death was made even better after the fact by…
“Dude. You’ve got some… Arnzt… on you.”
