Rumor on this was that this was a screwup. The shark wasn’t meant to have the logo, it was just one of the special effects guys screwing around and it accidentally got put into the final version.
Which would be funny… having all these people speculate over clues that were oversights and errors. Formulating theories based on some random technician goofing up…
Popping in randomly: what if Desmond’s right, and the reason he keeps seeing Charlie die is because he is meant to die in Charlie’s place?
Also, that was kinda really, really stupid of Ben to give Alex back the gun. Oh, Ben, you kept her away from her boyfriend and beat him up and revealed at least some of your evil plans in front of her, of course there’s no reason she’d turn against you…
I suspect that was just something Desmond said so Charlie would let him go in his place.
I mean, Charlie was supposed to die while capturing that bird. Desmond did the same exact thing without a scratch. He was supposed to do saving Claire. Again, Desmond did the same thing and survived. It seems like if Desmond was supposed to die while taking Charlie’s place in something, it would have happened by now. I doubt Desmond needs to just commit suicide for Charlie’s benefit.
They weren’t the same events. Different clothes, different location. He was playing the same song and it started raining in both instances but otherwise they are different.
I never got the impression that was even the same event. It didn’t look like the same corner, or the same clothes, or even the same time of year to be honest. Charlie was a street performer. He probably only knew a handful of songs and probably played the popular ones a lot, and I presume he played the streets a lot for money. Rain happens in England fairly often. I don’t know why everyone is turning it into a huge deal… different day, same song. So what?
Maybe huge was the wrong word, but a couple people have speculated about where Desmond was, whether or not his time travel changed this incident, why was it different this time than last… just a different event is all. Any speculation about it at all is a bigger deal than it deserves.
Science time. With an underwater facility like that, is the internal air pressure increased by the pressure of the water on the air at the water/air interface? If so, how much?
Let’s say that the surface of the moon pool was at 34 feet deep. That would mean that the internal pressure of the facility would need to be kept at about 29.7 psi absolute pressure, or about 14.7 psi above normal sea level air pressure. It also means that if Charlie does make it back to the surface after a few hours in there, he is going to have a helluva case of the bends. Worse, if he fails to expel air from his lungs on the way up, he will embolize and die. A slow, painful, frothy, bloody death.
Yes. 1 atmosphere for every 33 feet. I’m guessing it not much deeper than that or Charlie would not have been able to free dive to it.
Guiness Record time: Charlie said he could hold his breath for 4 minutes. I thought that was ridiculous, but I looked it up and the free diving record is over 8 minutes.
He was lying so Jack would agree to his going - when asked how long he could “really” hold his breath for he said something along the lines of “does it matter?”.
Did anyone else here hear Richard try to ask Ben if Locke heard Jacob ?? Obviously he’s aware that being able to communicate with Jacob is a “big thing”. If Locke had been able to that would add more fuel to the “new leader” fire.
