Well, that was strange. Sorry about the multipost.
Couldn’t watch live – recorded and watching now… (commenting as I watch):
So if Sawyer is LAPD in the flash-sideways, why did he look the other way / help Kate-in-handcuffs escape at the airport. Slacking on his cop-ly principles, or turning a blind eye for the cute chick?
“I’m the smoke thing” – so matter-of-fact. Nice.
“We get on that plane…” etc. How are they going to get that plane to take off? A little damaged, and not a lot of runway, if I recall?
Awww… Sawyer, in the cages, reminiscing over where he first banged Kate… how touching.
Sayid just sits there and watches the Claire-knife-to-Kate’s-throat struggle. Dead eyes. Heh – Sayid going all catatonic now?
Wow, who killed all the Ajira survi… erm… ex-survivors?
Thinking Zoe may be the killer, and she’s conning the con-man.
Kate: “Very insightful, coming from a dead man.”
Smocke: “Well, nobody’s perfect.”
heh – nice.
Yep, right about “Zoe”.
“Take me to your leader”. hahahahahah
So does this mean the extra Jacobites on the plane killed all of the innocent extra Ajira passengers? I’m assuming these are more of Ilana’s people (since Smocke is concerned about them).
Wow, that little talk between Kate and Smocke is making the “Smocke/Man-in-Black is really Aaron, after some time jumping” theory sound like a very good possibility.
Ahhh, it’s not Ilana’s people. Zoe is one of Widmore’s people. So Widmore shows up and… slaughters the Ajira survivors on Other-traz/Hydra? Looks like they are putting up a new Dharma-style sonic fence, too.
Great Sawyer comeback:
Widmore: “How do I know I can trust you?”
Sawyer: “Same way I know I can trust you.”
Had a feeling Sawyer was going to come back and tell Smocke about Widmore. Hahahhahaha – nice.
It seemed pretty obvious to me when she started asking a bunch of questions like ‘how many are you, and how many guns do you have’ that all have a the common theme of assessing an enemy party, and then had trouble answering Sawyer’s questions.
Yehhh… MIB has to be Aaron after those remarks.
She was persistently grilling him for details of his “group” – “how many of you are there? do you have guns?” etc etc. That was kind of a giveaway for me. I’m sure Sawyer picked up on it, too – those questions smacked of “Zoe” doing her own “recon”.
I think she was just fleeing from police cars (you hear approaching sirens before the crash), and wasn’t completely focused on the road ahead, where Sawyer’s car was parked by the curb. I don’t think she did it on purpose – just all part of the desperate fleeing that is her life.
Love the parallel between Sawyer and Jack smashing mirrors.
Anyone think that the show-runners missed a chance to make “Ava” (apparently the name of the woman “Jimmy” apprehended at the beginning of the episode) and “Zoe” the same woman (A-to-Z style)?
Note that per someone else’s theory (that looks like it’s paying off), Sawyer smashes the mirror and he overcomes his problem: he opens up to Miles and tries to open up to Claire.
Jack smashes the mirror, things get better with his son. Locke looks in the mirror and fixes his relationship with whatshername.
Charlotte.
Helen.
You’re welcome.
So, I take it that it’s much easier to drive a submarine than it is to fly a jetliner? :dubious:
The Recap for that episode that aired last week (“Pop-up Lost”) said that Dogen sent Sayid to kill Locke thinking that Locke would kill him. Dogen is unable to kill Sayid himself as that would shift his balance from “good” to “bad” ala the test he administered to Sayid. It’s also why he didn’t even defend himself in the Temple from Sayid.
Pop-up Lost is good for little tidbits like that.
Well, yeah. I wouldn’t want to attempt to turn an airliner in soft sand without a tractor or three.
The sub would be a lot easier.
I just want to know how Widmore recruited Sarah Palin to be on his team.
Not your fault - the hamsters forgot to push the button.
wouldn’t it be funny if Walt is locked up on the sub? No?
how did Widmore find the island again if it’s so hard to find?
She can see the Island from her house?
I’m guessing he’s going to hijack it with the crew. He’ll probably put a gun to the pilot/drivers head and tell them to take him off the island.
So he’s not going to drive the sub himself.
The airplane has no crew and he probably knows it’s near impossible to take off from the sand.
New theory (I apologize if this isn’t actually a new theory – I haven’t read all the threads):
MIB was originally from the sideways-verse. Jacob somehow managed to capture him, remove him from the sideways-verse and bring in to his universe, tieing him to the island somehow. What we’re seeing thin the flash-sideways is not only the world that would result if the plane didn’t crash – we’re also seeing the world without MIB.
When MIB says he wants to get off the island, that he wants to get home, it means he actually wants to get back to his dimension, where he will royally screw up the lives of all the sideways-Losties, as well as the rest of humanity.
Jacob keeping MIB on the island, keeping MIB trapped *was *saving the world – it just wasn’t *his *world.
The airplane also has a broken “windshield”…remember Lapidus’ co-pilot ended up impaled on a tree branch. I’m hoping that both Smocke and Sawyer both know the plane is unfly-able but are each hoping that the other is under the opposite impression.
Maybe there’s a Dharma submarine manual back in New Otherton that Sawyer read during his time there.
Seems that everyone smashes a mirror in their flash-sideways lives.
I think Jacob was the one that screwed up the lives of all the sideways-Losties. We’ve actually seen how Jacob interfered in their lives to bring them to the island, and these stories are what would have happened had he not.
I also think they’re trying to make us sympathetic to MIB so that they can make Jacob the bad guy, with the “I just want to go home” and “I’m trapped here” and “My mother was crazy” and “Kill or be killed” and the fact that since he took Locke’s form he hasn’t lied to anyone (maybe omitted, but not outright lied).
If Jacob needs a replacement, then maybe there needs to be a replacement for MIB too.
