Lots of tots rot!

Had to. We weren’t at all prepared for multiple vet visits within the same month for a cat which turned out to have been abused by her previous owner. The little bit we got from Dopers, most of it in cash, covered our electric bill for that month.

This thread isn’t at all about shipment of tater tots that got spoiled. I’m so confused.

This thread reminds me how much Skywatcher stinks. I was enjoying the forgetting.

Let’s not pretend that cash given to make up for multiple vet visits and cover an electric bill is in any way equal to holding monies in PayPal until they turned out to be unnecessary and refunded.

Ohhh. That’s sig worthy.

Not sure I follow, can you explain?

Skywatcher - I’m still paying off my late wife’s final hospital bills, my daughter needs new glasses and summer school, and my son’s college tuition bill for fall just showed up. I was lamenting my financial situation, but then I remembered some people have vet bills and electric bills the same month. I feel like such a jerk. I’m sorry.

Vets often will set up monthly payment plans.

You should be. Some people seem to want him to pay for the things he’s obligated to pay for with his own money. Yes, you heard me. His own money!

People are bastards.

How much ya need?

Joking aside, surely you’re better prepared for such emergencies than we had been. We were basically living paycheck-to-paycheck at the time.

Reported as anti-bunnite hate speech.

Ha! Good one! Because you ask for money, which is the opposite of giving it.

Well, surely. I mean, my wife hadn’t been working for several years because of her health, and we’d been incurring lots of medical costs (we qualified for the tax thing where you can deduct from your taxed income the portion of your medical expenses that are more than 7.5% of your income 5 years running!), and many paychecks I still put the second weeks’ groceries on a credit card because the money runs out before the days do, but, surely I’m better prepared, because…reasons. Surely you and your wife were worse prepared for emergencies than anyone else, and anybody you encounter on a message board isn’t living paycheck to paycheck.

Of course the more important question is, can someone spare me a 20 till payday?

Let me guess, you have one in your pocket, but taking it out is so much effort?

So, in your world, getting The three months of overtime that you said you were offered but chose not to take in the original thread wouldn’t have helped you get ahead on your bills? That’s interesting universe you live in, bunny boy

Will you gimme $20 if I can tell you where you got your shoes?

Are we in the Pit or the French Quarter?

You realize that illicit makes no sense at all in that sentence? Elicit is the word you’re grasping for.

Thanks. The linked article was a lot less direct. This is an outrage that will linger.

I’m working on a 5 year plan to make the Pit more NOLAesque. For example, right now I’m sipping a Hurricane out of a plastic go-cup. We’ve already got performance artists doing their shtick.
