Lucifer, Season 2 (2016-2017)

Any thoughts on Monday night’s season-ending episode, “The Good, the Bad, and the Crispy”?

Just that I found it funny that this year both Supernatural and Lucifer featured a version of Lucifer and the season’s “big bad” solution involving a last-minute dimensional rift.

I don’t watch 'Supernatural". But I did like the interdimensional rift “escape clause” for Lucifer’s mom. A good way to end that story!

I’ve been very impressed by this season. For a long time, what made the show work for me was Lucifer’s dialogue, but the last few episodes moved beyond that to a compelling story. I think the resolution scene was brilliantly written and staged.* This has become the best comic book show on TV and I hope they’ll continue next season.

*Though I have to admit it did remind me of Starcrash.

Yes, I love the show, as well. And I’m glad that they ended the “evil mom” storyline. I enjoyed her character (and watching Tricia Helfer is always a hoot), but I thought it was wearing a bit thin for the last few episodes.

I really enjoyed the super-cute “Trixie plays doctor” scenes with Lucifer and Maze. Adorable!

Okay - let’s address the very last scene. Is it real or a hallucination as a result of being bonked on the head?

Well, assuming Chloe was nowhere near him when he got bonked, it must have had to have been a celestial being to have knocked him out, correct?

And Dad could be happy enough with him handling the Mom problem that he gave him back his wings.

That being said, I’m assuming it is a hallucination, because he cut his own wings off - it wasn’t a punishment - so I don’t know that Dad would give them back (or that Lucifer wants them back).

Both arguments make sense. But is it possible that the episode was written before the next season was commissioned, and that this scene as written is deliberately ambiguous so that it could be construed a show finale?

an intriguing possibility!

I’m glad she’s gone too. I enjoyed some of her learning to deal with human society, but she always seemed scattered and selfish. I wonder how they are going to address the fact that she went from a well-known lawyer to suddenly being Lucifer’s “step-mother” and now she’s back to having no memory of Lucifer again? I guess if he truly does tell Chloe everything it won’t matter.

I have been itching for him to truly reveal himself to Chloe. I’m just not sure what her reaction will be.

Wasn’t this also a nod to the comic book Lucifer? I seem to remember that he created in inter dimensional rift and created his own new universe. Didn’t he?

I agree, it was a good way to resolve the evil mom story.

BTW, Tricia Helfer is not the eye candy on this show. Tom Ellis and DB Woodhouse are the treats for my eyes.

He’s told her who he is numerous times, but she refuses t believe. He would have to reveal himself, and have Amenadiel and Linda and Maze back him up.

Hmm. He becomes as vulnerable as a mortal around her…maybe he won’t be able to reveal himself in his lord of hell form to her, either.

Amenadiel has been against Lucifer revealing himself to mortals, and I suspect that Maze, who was distraught over what happened to Linda, thinks that the only way to keep Chloe and Trixie safe is to keep him from confiding in her.

Sing it.

I like Tricia Helfer as actress. I like the gentlemen as both actors and eye candy.

I always thought he gave up the wings too easily and he burned the fake wings on the beach in front of Amenadiel. But I don’t know where he might have been keeping them or how he was made whole again.

I wondered if he was on Earth or not at the end. He just sent Mum off. Could he have ended up wherever she is?

Other possibility - Amenadiel took him somewhere. He’s getting his powers back, so he could have knocked Lucifer out. Maze kept one of the wing feathers, with an implication there was still a way to regenerate them. Maybe something happened with them to create this situation?
