Look, just because you say you can investigate means absolutely nothing to me. I have no reason to trust you unconditionally. That makes me, or any other town member, a moron?
So, what if you come back with a ‘read’ on Cookies? How do we know your read is correct? We’re just supposed to trust you til day 5 or 6? What if you’re scum? All you are doing is delaying the town.
What if you, Cookies, and Total lost is scum. You’re basically screaming “NO DON’T LYNCH Cookies!”. So you can come back tomorrow and say, “well whadda know, Cookies is Town - which makes Total Lost town”. Now we have 3 confirmed ‘Townies’, who are actually scum and free to do what they want until we lynch you in a couple of days. By then it could be too late for the town to recover.
