The problem is that it’s not. What I’m convinced of is that Crys is lying.

What I’m not convinced of is what to do about it. There’s simply no way for me to figure out WHAT Crys is lying about. Maybe there are only two Cult members and he’s being truthful in his win-con.
Maybe there’s 5 Cult members and the win-con is exclusive and can be stolen from Town.
Maybe something else entirely.

But here’s what I know: Town’s win condition is to kill off all scum. Period. Game ends there. So lynching someone I believe to be 3rd Party does not help Town get closer to its end goal. Leaving them alive has the possibility of biting Town in the ass later on. But because I don’t know HOW it will bite us in the ass, I’m not sure what to do to play around it.

As I mentioned before, I haven’t actually read Sach’s claim. I need to do that. Probably before going further in this thread.

But Crys can be lying even with corroboration because if there are two people on the same team working towards the same goal, of course they’re going to corroborate each other’s stories…even if those stories are completely made up.

I’m also not arguing with you about the “finding teammates” power or “survival” wincon as possibilities. You’re right. They’re pretty well established win conditions.

What I’m asking is this: When you have a faction of 7 Mafia and a faction of 7 Wolves, does an additional 5 person third party make sense? That’s not a small number of people. Right now I’m going with the theory that the only reason two people have stepped forward as members of this “cult” is because that’s all there are in this game.

I also put “cult” in quotations because I ask your experience on this. In most other games, wouldn’t a cult indicate a group that tries to bring players over to their side? But the rules specifically state that alliance switching won’t happen this game.

I also ask this: if the win condition is truly to just survive to the end…why the need to investigate anyone? Why any power roles whatsoever?

What if their win condition was something like “ensure the lynching of X number of Town, Wolves, & Mafia.” That would be a reason to need investigation powers.
Anyway, that’s all just food for thought. I want to read Sach’s claim but as i said repeatedly, I don’t think lynching 3rd party advances Town’s goals. So my focus is better served on voting for people I think are scum.

Not soft claiming anything. Do I know through in-game knowledge or powers that he’s lying? No.

But the claim, taken as a whole, does not make sense. I broke it down further in other posts. I do not know which part is the lie or how it affects Town, but the story he’s telling does not work when you put the pieces of his claim together.

If you look over all his posts, there’s not a lot of other stuff there. Decent number of posts, but not a ton of meat.

You know, when someone dies in this game, my first thought isn’t “well shit. This totally implicates me, doesn’t it?” And my first action isn’t to come online and try to explain to people how this totally doesn’t implicate me.

First, because the thought would never occur to me to do so. But second, because I know I’m innocent, so why would I need to bother trying to justify or premtively explain anything? If someone wants to make a case, let them. I’m innocent.

But these don’t look like the actions of an innocent guy. You sure are trying to spend a heck of a lot of time justifying what should be a complete non-

Reviewing the vote record

1. HoopyFrood is the only player to have voted for both a known mafia and a known wolf. On D2, he voted for JSGoddess and then moved his vote to HockeyMonkey
2. Lakai on-off voted HockeyMonkey on D3, but didn’t vote for him D4, started Day with vote on Hooker.
3. Hoopy and Lakai are the only two players to ever vote HockeyMonkey. In fact, they are the only players to have voted for a now known Mafia.
4. ThingFish voted for Khameleon on D3, but switched his vote to ProfP, later he switched it back to Khameleon.
5. Wolves seem to be primarily voting for townies, no surprise. The players still alive that have been voted by wolves include: TotalLost (D1, JSGoddess), Hawkeyeop(D1, Boozy), Crys(D2, JSGoddess AND D3, Boozy), ProfP(D3, JSGoddess AND ThingFish and D4, Boozy), Khameleon(D3, Thingfish), Meeko(D4,Boozy).
6. We have fewer Mafia votes to analyze, here are the highlights…. HockeyMonkey voted for Booz on D4, so far this is the only known cross faction vote. Crys, Plumpudding, CaptainKlutz, Hal Briston and ProfP have been voted by known Mafia. Need more mafia deaths.
7. CaptainKlutz, Guiri, Hooker, and SNF voted for Boozy on D3, before it was cool.
   Conclusions:

Given that bussing is no where near as beneficial as a standard game, I’m not surprised that there haven’t been any votes on scum teammates. Because that seems to be the case, I think it is safe to proceed under the assumption that the votes by scum are not on their teammates up to this point.

There are two exceptions I see. The first is Boozy… He saw the lynch coming, and could have been positioning himself away from his remaining teammates. This isn’t that big of a deal though, because he voted for ProfP, Meeko, and Diggit on D4. D3 he voted Crys. I’m pretty sure Prof P is Mafia, and I think Meeko has just given up… regardless of his role. The only thing that gets me nervous is that Meeko voted Boozy, and Boozy dropped his vote on a competing lynch candidate to return an OMGUS vote… feels very odd for Boozy to do that… especially under as much pressure as he was and needing to keep the count on ProfP or Diggit, I think Khameleon was in the running as well.
The second is a vote by HockeyMonkey on ProfP. It isn’t proven he is Mafia, but I believe he is. Hockey moved his vote to Idle before the end of D3.

Moving on, based on the above analysis,
Plumpudding, CaptainKlutz, HalBriston and ProfP were all voted by Mafia once, and the vote was not there at EoD. I do not think that precludes them from being Mafia.

ProfP had numerous votes from the wolves, this supports my suspicion that he is Mafia.
TexCat has votes for BillMC and Boozy. Boozy was pretty well cooked at the time, and the BillMC vote didn’t make it to EoD. I’m leaning town on TexCat, but if he is scum, I think its more likely he’s mafia than wolf.

Although ThingFish only got to vote 2 Days, he didn’t have any votes on teammates. He voted for all town and two living players ProfP and Khameleon. If Khameleon is scum, I think she’s Mafia.

I’m pretty sure HoopyFrood is not scum.

I’d be surprised if Lakai is Mafia, though I’m not ruling out wolf or 3rd party yet.

Questions:
@Enderw24, your one and only vote on D3 was on ProfP. On D4 your first vote was on Boozy, later switching to ProfP. Why the delay in your vote for ProfP? If he was your prime suspect on D3, why on D4 is Boozy suddenly a better vote, but later you go back to Prof? It’s weird and it looks like you trying to cash in on Boozy’s death without actually contributing to it. Especially since at EoD the only reason Boozy got lynched was a last minute vote switch by JohnnyBravo.

@ProfP, What are your feelings on Plumpudding, CaptainKlutz, and Khameleon? In fact, could you do up a leans list for us?

@Hoopy, who do you think needs to be getting more attention?

@Hooker and Guiri, I’ll have to go check out the step by step, but given that you both voted for Boozy on D3, why was your vote on his main competition for the lynch EoD D4?

I agree that prof, if he is as towny as he claims, should gives a full, unabridged leans list on everyone before the nooseing.
