I didn’t see it as grilling. I saw it as a vote at a time that the vote wouldn’t best serve town based on a case that I thought illogical. I didn’t think that players in this particular game would make such simple and obvious mistakes that would get them caught. Pleo caught Thingfish in a similar way though, so I’m wrong. I guess I just have higher expectations than what is turning out to be true. Regardless my issue was that the vote came near EoD, I thought it illogical, and given the timing I thought it unlikely Biotop would be back in time to respond.
It wasn’t just you, I’ve been getting push back from a lot of players, voting for town, and not getting much in the way of positive reinforcement. So yeah, I’m discouraged, and I think that it might be good for me to be less vocal and just observe instead of constantly streaming my thoughts about everything.
We need to continue the big rebound and not be fighting with each other. The comeback is on! Patriots vs Falcons, anyone?
paul, I appreciate your defense and should have said so earlier. I read you as Town. Your major effort replacing a non-participating player has been a huge plus to the game overall, no matter your affiliation. This game plays too much on the emotions, but it is just a game. I frequently forget that.
Bussing in this game is less rewarding because scum are hunting scum. It doesn’t buy as much TC as a standard game and it puts your team at a disadvantage because it puts the opposing scum faction in the lead for the second part of the scum wincon.
I do note that, along with Pleonast’s unfortunately damning votes on me, there are also votes for 4 out of 6 Scum. I am Town.
I now have two votes on me already. I expected that. Voting for me this early gets a safe marker down, I get that, but the problem is, again, I am Town.
Guiri asked me yesterday what I enjoyed about this game. I love the banter and some of the sniping. But my all-time favorite guilty pleasure part-of-the-game is this: when I’m way behind and about to be lynched, I just love talking my way out of it.
Challenge accepted. I am Town. Angel was right. 40,000% right.
Nah. It’s only a game. I will let others wallow in the troughs of despair despite being told (and I’m paraphrasing) that “Town and Scum, you’re a terrible player (no offense)”. Nay, such pessimistic appraisals shall not thwart my happy heart.
Desperate role claiming? I’m vanilla Town. Nothing too desperate to say about that.
I remain convinced that ProfP cannot be a wolf. He’s had votes from too many wolves, including JSGoddess, who didn’t have a problem defending ThingFish. I doubt that she’d defend ThingFish and throw a wolf ProfP under the bus.
I see that Sunny never voted for ProfP, but Hockey did on D3 before she switched to Idle. If ProfP is scum, he’s definitely mafia, not wolf.
Are you saying that you were testing Lakai to see how she would react to your criticizing her case? Was my interjection interfering with your assessment of Lakai? Otherwise, I don’t agree. It isn’t the same thing.
It is also possible that I’m being hypocritical. That happens. I’ll try not to be, but it happens.
I don’t really see it as being ‘defensive’ as much as thinking further explanation was needed for others to understand the reasoning.
I don’t see how the time of Day was a relevant factor. I’m pretty sure I posted something to the effect that I would be back to check if my vote was needed to get a second lynch. I’m not 100% sure I posted it, but I was thinking it.
okay. I checked. It was literally in the same post as my vote for Biotop. Like right after. I officially do not understand you.
Look. I’m Third party. Maybe you haven’t thought much about what playing this game is like for Third party, but it’s different. As neither Town or Scum, there are unusual choices I need to make. I’m trying to have fun and make the game fun for me by looking for things and angles to participate in, but I absolutely do not want to have a strong effect on the vote trains of the Day. I know that sounds weird, but I feel it is the best thing for Town to keep myself away from influencing the vote record or swaying the lynch wagons one way or another. Why? Because I’m Third Party. My vote record isn’t going to tell you my alignment. I’m telling the truth, but if I wasn’t, I’m not going to get caught by my vote record. I would get caught in a lie with a dead First Deacon or cultist investigation. My vote as a matter of record isn’t important; but influencing the vote or wagons could be detrimental (probably not, but not worth it). The vote influences will hopefully tell you about players who aren’t me. So yeah, I’m staying out of it.
That’s why, when I saw an opening and a decent point of view on Biotop’s choices, I pursued that. You know, for fun.
I agree playing 3rd party is very different. You want to participate but doing that too much will get you dead. No one trusts a 3rd party ever and when it gets close to lylo you will kill us off one way or another.
I’ve been suspicious of Prof P, and now Pleonast has pretty firmly pointed a finger in his direction. I was already planning to vote him again, but now doubly so.
