Mafia Reunion - Day 9

**OK, we’ll discuss it. **

You don’t think your recent posts are harsh in tone- I do- that is the meat of that

you are confusing me with another I never said “not specifically claiming vanilla town was somehow claiming scum.”
And my phrasing is often ‘weird’ to many- so I worry not on that count.
I am not voting you - I * am * noticing you. We need to do that to play the game.

Ummm… No. I did loose a bit of interest but continued to play, with more than just a post to stay alive, then by Day 7 I got too busy (as I’d warned about beforehand) to play properly. Seriously, just go back and look over my participation, if I’m this difficult to understand.

And a sub? In a game where I am sub, where we’ve had a shortage of subs?

We will not be modkilling anyone at all today. It is our strong preference to avoid modkilling anyone unless someone well and truly disappears; if we start allowing the game to become a daily referendum on who should be modkilled, it will lose whatever momentum is still has. End of Day on its way.

This is the most convincing argument I’ve seen all day. Sorry Plum.

Vote Plukmpudding

I don’t see much merit in the case on Mufftabby. I was suspicious of LightFoot for hher partial claim, but the methodology doesn’t help her team if this results in claims from two other players both of who turn out to be Town. Of course, if we get two claims, one of the three must be scum, and the team who took the gamble will lose a player and then be in the losing position.

So, although there is little that scum won’t do, I see Lightfoot’s claim to have too much downside to be a scum gambit.

The case on Bufftabby is thin - I can see myself behaving as Buff has in her situation, whether she’s VT or scum. So a null tell.

Night Nine

*The lynch of bufftabby was a desultory, mildly contested affair. She offered little in the way of defense, and no one was terribly surprised when the hair and the claws emerged.

bufftabby, who was the Bloodhound, has been lynched.

The hanging was punctuated by the now-routine hail of gunfire.

nesta, who was the High Priest of LUTHA, has been Day killed.

As they stumbled home to face another Night, uncertainty reigned. Though the day had been a quiet one, another corpse surely waited them in the morning. Then they would be 15; barely a quarter of the group that had started this journey remained alive. They were the last few survivors of a battle that now, in unease and fragile quiet, entered its final stages.*

Night Nine begins here and will end at 3:00PM Eastern on Tuesday, March 14. Happy hunting!

Looks like Captain Klutz was on to something about bufftabby not switching to Boozy for the double lynch. Nice work.

Yay! Sorry to see you go, but not at all sorry to see a wolf on the gallows.

Don’t know why the mafia would take out a cultist.

Pow! High five to all on the Bufftabby lynch!

Can we get the final vote count, please?

a claimed even. Mafia is not making sense- they know who most of the Town power roles are-so why not aim for a possible wolf?

  • Do Mafia know something about LUTHA that we don’t?
They have been targeting the cultists (do the cultists effect their wincon?)

We know their wincon. It was published. So unless there is something else hidden …i don’t know why they would focus there.

Perhaps the are wary of the LUTHA wincon?

that is what I meant- silly rabbit no type clear

I think it’s way simpler than that.

There are currently ten players in the unconfirmed pool.

3 VT
2 town power roles (zoning inspector, patsy)
2 wolves
3 mafia

So unless mafia has a pretty good idea of who the last two wolves are, they have a 2 in 7 chance of hitting a wolf. On top of that, one of the remaining wolves is the alpha, who may still have protection.

So why would they shoot into that pool? They don’t actually want to hit unconfirmed townies, who are all going to be lynch targets for the remainder of the game. Better to keep their smokescren. Again, this is why I wanted the last two power roles to claim.

I conjecture that scum are going to be disinclined to shoot into that pool unless they feel like they have good odds at taking out an enemy scum, and we aren’t helping to make that happen.

So why LUTHA over a confirmed town? Yeah, probably boils down to their win condition. I imagine they’re equally suspicious.

Mafia is not taking out claimed Town power roles- they are taking Lutha
they are not trying to find possible wolves or possible additional third parties

It is just odd.
LUTHA * could* be targeted for lynch- Town knows not if they are non hostile- but claimed ( and non contested) Town won’t be lynched
Mafia is playing an odd game.

No, again, it seems way more simple. Mafia is killing from the confirmed pool rather than the unconfirmed pool.

Killing any confirmed player right now is better than killing an unconfirmed townie. Mafia has bad odds right now of killing a wolf, and LUTHA are the only confirmed players who still have information potentially up in the air. They’re making the safe play right now.

I cannot agree with you ** Johnny ** I see it differently - not that it matters too much- it is Mafias game play . I still find it quite odd.

Welll, since we know (per Enderw24) that you’re not Mafia, let me ask you:

If you **were **Mafia, who would you have wanted to kill last night? And why?

Bleh, last dusk. You know what I mean.

there are 5 non contested Town roles-one of whom can cause trouble for Mafia
and the Masons can work as a team if they choose to. they will not be lynched- so aiming there as Mafia makes sense to me. YMMV
