Mafia Reunion - Day One

Like bufftabby, I think his post was likely a mistake. Pleonast quoted Chronos’s Night 0 post and Meeko might not have caught that it was from a different thread.

Of course the Patsy has a power. E has basically the same power as a Mason: E can become confirmed (or at least, mostly-confirmed) by claiming. Now, there are a lot of other roles in this game that can do that, too, and who also have other powers, but being able to self-confirm is still a pretty significant power.

Small clues, maybe, but only very small ones, in a setup like this where the role PMs are public knowledge. Ordinarily, only the person with a role will know the fine details of the role (like whether the Doctor can self-protect, or whether the Detective gets role name or just alignment), but in this game, knowing those things just means that you’ve read the Google doc.

Are you referring to me and BillMc here - or who do you have in mind?
It would be nice with names to later re-reads. Thanks in advance.

So, as I read on, I see that a Colby bandwagon has formed. I am the first to admit that my eye is still on him/her, however this post is actually a better candidate for suspicion. I find that a defense of another player is usually given whenever the culprit actually has superior information about the other player. So, I will

unvote Colby

and

Vote snfaulkner

Just to be clear, you’re voting me because I answered the question you directed at me?

As such it would be a solid camouflage, assuming he’s aware of that pattern which pretty much nullifies it imho.

No, of course not. That would make as little sense as casting suspicion on someone for posting in the wrong Day/Night thread.

I FOS’ed you for your extremely flimsy suspicion, and your response sealed the deal for me. Your particular FOS read as a typical scummy “let’s throw out some specious suspicion and see what sticks” move. If it sticks, whoever actually casts the first vote gets hit with the questions if a faulty bandwagon forms. If it doesn’t stick, there’s no real tie to you later on. There are other FOSes floating around, but yours struck me as being extraordinarily flimsy, even for Day One.

I think that was already pretty clearly where I was coming from, so trying to spin it that I’m voting you for “answering my question” is another example of what I’m seeing as some specious suspicions coming from you.

I agree. Even if you vote early, please comment on what we’re talking about. Doesn’t have to be digging up tons or quoting like crazy. But at least give us an indication on more that just who is to be Lynch-Of-The-Day.

See my remark to the previous quote.

Hi Nate! I hope we’re on the same team this game. (Which is to say that I don’t think using the word team is inherently scummy.)

What is a Patsy?

I like your theory here but how do you adapt that to their being two scum teams?

I also thought this original post was bs.

This sounds weird to me.

Unvote: Because bandwagons are anti-town? But still “Colby’s possible slip is the biggest ping I’ve got right now, it’s very weak.”
A non-denial denail?

Then: “Is the theory that he prepared a message on a scum board and copied it here without reviewing it? Unlikely.”
You tell me - what was the ping to you??
Did you vote because there were other votes or because of that ping? The biggest ping, that seemed weak?!

Followed with: “It’s anti-Town to bandwagon early on Day 1 for flimsy reasons — it can lead to a wasted Day — yet votes are piling onto Colby”
Noooo? For real? A Day 1 bandwagon is a waste of Day if we stop analyzing and looking for information.

But let’s not waste the Day.
Let’s snuggle Normal and AngeloftheNorth and end the post with an anecdote on past games.

I don’t like it:

Someday I will be, my friend, but not today. And I never think you’re stupid, just (occasionally) obdurate.

I’m feeling pretty good that this is town Meeko.

I concur with this reasoning. I’m still suspicious of Drain Bead, not assuaged by her commentary on Meeko, or I would consider moving my vote here.

Or a debate into a debacle?

Well, some people just do it as part of their play style. I do, and so does SNF.

Total Lost, have you ever played with Septimus before?

I believe so. The name strike me as familiar. But I can’t recall a certain game. Why?
