Mafia Reunion - Day One

No, I totally am on both counts. I have no idea what Total is thinking.

I don’t remember a damn one of the roles right now. Is that actually one of them?

Actually 20 players with 5 posts or less. Sario has not posted toDay, nor has MHaye. The **Winston Smith ** and **Daphne Black ** duo have not posted at all – Day or Night (maybe they ran off together? :p)

I dunno. I feel that if he had said “I’m not going to answer that question” that he would then be under attack for not answering the question. I can fault him for the original statement, and I can sure fault him for the hard claim, but I can also feel that once he made the mistake he had no way out if someone was going to chase it.

And I feel there was no reason for TL to chase it.

Yeah, I know I’ll catch a vote or two for being helpful, but info helps Town.

Oh, and in case you need a key: > = voted for; X = unvoted. The first number is the post number.

No one posted a vote count yet? We are falling down sorry. I did this quickly but I think it’s accurate. I have no doubt you will let me know if it’s not.

Your witty saying could be featured here. Ask me how!

My name is Plumpudding, thank you very much.

It’s right in the rules for win conditions.

“Win Conditions
Win conditions will be checked in the following order every Dawn and every Dusk:
Town Wins! if all 14 Scum players are dead.
Mafia Wins! if the total number of living Mafia is greater than or equal to 50% of the total population AND greater than the number of living Wolves.
Wolves Win! if the total number of living Wolves is greater than or equal to 50% of the total population AND greater than the number of living Mafia.
Third party win conditions are checked after checking all three of the above. Thus, a Town win supersedes an exclusive third party win even if both occur simultaneously.”

My bolding.

You can think what you like about **Total’s **motivation, but it was not her actions which caused **septimus **to claim.

It wasn’t the votes that cause him to claim either. At the point he claimed, Colby had 9 votes, septimus had 6. Not exactly a runaway, but not a situation that calls for a claim by the runner-up. And we’re nowhere near the End of Day; we still have as of this post just under 2 days and 23 hours. That’s plenty of time for a claim, if one were needed, which at this point it clearly isn’t.

There was no ‘in game’ reason for septimus to claim at that point.

Would you mind expanding on that a bit?

My only thoughts on **raventhief **at the moment is that they seemed to pop in from nowhere to comment (and vote) on Total Lost…and that’s pretty much it.

:dubious:

It’s written in Dark Blue. I think that makes me the correct one.

Wait so can someone answer me because I don’t have the list of roles – is EMT actually one of them?

I mean, it’s got to be the way you’re all talking about it, but jeez.

Here you go. For future reference: Mafia Reunion Role PM's Public - Google Docs

Suckup! :stuck_out_tongue:

unvote septimus

So we have a claimed doc. I question the timing a bit. Seems early for someone whose merely in second place. Then again, he did say he might claim a bit early due to the weekend. And I can understand. After all, I mentioned I’d be unlikely to participate much this weekend either, and I was one of the votes on him. If Colby were to claim, and everyone jumped to septimus, he might not be around to claim either. If he was in first place, I’d view this claim (regardless of its merits) as a pro-town play. It’s usually to scum’s advantage to false claim later in the Day so as to send everyone scrambling for new targets. This gives those of us on the septimus train some time to find someone else. septimus is also on record now. If he lives a long time, I think we can take a second look, but for now, we should take it at face value. If it is fake, the real EMT should not counterclaim at this point barring a really good reason to do so.

I’m going to have to reread a few things before I place another vote.

Guiri sarcasm is the best. You’re probably still scum, though. /good player paranoia

Guiri, you mentioned Pleonast and hot air in this same post, what is your read on him right now?

That only applies when town has won. 3rd parties can steal the win anytime before that, you seemed to say that they can never steal a win from town - which really would mean we can ignore them.

I’d previously noticed his series of one liners, and then saw another one in #614 - think he’s active lurking, I hadn’t even got to the vote on Total when I posted that.

What are the odds?

Option 1: for some reason you decided to go an note down all the votes and unvotes, maybe you were looking for a trend, maybe you noticed some suspicious behavior, so you went, spent some time writing it all down, and then came up with nothing, may as well post it to save others the bother. Option 2: a couple of players commented that the mods don’t include unvotes in their vote count, that really sucks, but hey, you’ve got plenty of free time, or have programed a robot to scan the thread for votes, and so hey presto, here you go, just being a helpful townie. Option 3: you’re scum and really struggling to find people suspicious but need to participate with more than one liners, how can you look like you’re helping hunt scum? Post a list of votes but lampshade it by noting how scummy it looks. The problem is not being helpful, it’s the motivation - like posting a WoW on a player without making any statement regarding their scummitude.

OK, somewhat similar to Total’s voices in her head, I have a visual representation (totally PG) of you that suddenly felt really wrong.

Thank you, bookmarked now. I can hardly wait until I get to this point in catching up.

Septimus, why.

Yes.

Last night I put this together for myself and it might be useful to others as well. It opens up some questions. Spoilered for length:
Blockers

The Basement-Based Tinkerer: “This device will block the Consigliere and Omega Wolf from taking any action at all during the next Day-Night Cycle. This works correctly even if you do not know the identities of either player”

The Zoning Inspector: Day blocker of certain active powers

The Leprechaun: Night blocker of certain active powers

The Godfather: investigation blocker (self) affects Seer and Homicide Detective

The Enforcer: blocks for a Night and the subsequent Day

The Consigliere: cancels all role blocks and protections for one Night and subsequent Day

The Alpha: investigation blocker (self) affects Seer and Homicide Detective

The Trickster: blocks for a Day and the subsequent Night

The Omega: cancels all role blocks and protections for one Day and subsequent Night

Switching (should this be considered a “block” skill?)

The Basement-Based Tinkerer: once per game can reset all switches to their default “on”; superseded by Consigliere (and Omega?)

The Consigliere: once per game can reset all switches to “off”

The Omega: once per game can reset all switches to “off”

Protectors
The EMT: Day doc; can self-protect; if Outrider targets target, kills EMT; what happens if protected?

Doctor Seward: Night doc; can self-protect; if Hitman targets target, kills Doctor Seward; what happens if protected?

The Wizard: Day or Night doc 7 times (will die after 7th); can self-protect (I think?); unclear if Hitman and Outrider are a threat?

The Godfather: one passive self-protect

The Bodyguard: Night protect; will die if target targeted for kill; unclear (and probably unimportant) if can be protected from ricochet

The Alpha: one passive self-protect

The Beta: Day protect; will die if target targeted for kill; unclear (and probably unimportant) if can be protected from ricochet

Observers

**The Watcher: **“watch a target of your choice… anyone targets them during that cycle, you will know who it is”; initiated by Day, watch whole Day/Night cycle

The Basement-Based Tinkerer: “Once per game, you can access the records of these cameras to discern what a (living or dead) target of your choice did during the previous Day-Night cycle.”

The Seer: “investigate any player and will receive a result of either “Town,” “Scum (Wolf or Mafia),” or “Third Party”; can be misled; once per Night (Night version of Homicide Detective)

The Homicide Detective: “investigate any player and will receive a result of either “Town,” “Scum (Wolf or Mafia),” or “Third Party”; can be misled; once per Day (Day version of Seer)

**The Investigative Journalist: **“target any player for investigation. You must explicitly state whether you are looking for a Wolf or for a Mafiosi; you cannot detect third parties in any case. Your investigation will produce a simple “yes” or “no” answer”; cannot be misled; once per Day/Night cycle

The Informant: “Once per Night, you may target a player and learn what (s)he does during that Night”

The Consigliere: Night watcher (once) can see who targets one player

The Bloodhound: “Once per Day, you may target a player and learn what (s)he does during that Day.”

The Omega: Day watcher (once) can see who targets one player

Killers

The Patsy: “one reciprocal kill at your own discretion”

Alternate Universe Batman: mandatory vig; Night; cannot suicide

Mafia Team: factional Day kill

Wolves Team: factional Night kill

The Hitman: Night kill; will ricochet and hit protector (both EMT and Doctor Seward mentioned in PM, but only Doctor Seward would be protecting at Night); presume can hit the Wizard, the Bodyguard (duplicative), and the Beta (duplicative)

The Outrider: Day kill; will ricochet and hit protector (both EMT and Doctor Seward mentioned in PM, but only EMT would be protecting during Day); presume can hit the Wizard, the Bodyguard (duplicative), and the Beta (duplicative)

Usurpers

The Understudy: may assume the identity and power of any Town player who dies on Day 1 or Night 1

The Mook: one-time only ability to use the unspent active power of a dead team-mate

The Whelp: one-time only ability to use the unspent active power of a dead team-mate
