Mandalorian Season 2 Thread [Open Spoilers]

Or maybe Boba goes back to tattooine and kills the sarlaac that tried to him.

It was strongly implied in the season premiere that the krayt dragon ate that sarlacc.

Luke force choked 2 Gamorrean guards on his way into Jabba’s palace in ROTJ. They weren’t even attacking him, they just wouldn’t step aside and let him in. So I don’t think that’s a sign of being headed to the Dark side.

Luke had the potential to go the Dark Side, and his doing that was a tease of that potential. The same here. At least to the casual viewers read of it.

As an aside - one of the few laudable aspects of The Last Jedi was a hint of thinking of the two sides of The Force as other than Good and Evil but in a more Yin-Yang mindset, of a balance. But it seems like Star wars Force users all lose their balance to one direction or the other.

I must’ve missed that, or forgotten.

I’m all twitterpated.

I had a feeling that this was who should respond to Grogu’s call. I didn’t think it was going to happen, though, because it seemed impossible to make it happen.

Whatever trick of CGI they used to insert young Luke Skywalker was nothing less than amazing, and a marked improvement over Rogue One and TROS.

Indeed!
Also, after the credits, there is a stinger; you’ll want to see it. There’s a nice surprise there.

I guess I will be in the minority of viewers who thought this ending was very, very, very, very stupid and bad, and after teetering on the edge for most of this season, I am now out forever.

Edit to add: For anyone who liked it, I won’t argue with you, and I won’t try to take your enjoyment away. Liking things is better than not liking things. But it’s pretty clear that Disney Star Wars is Not For Me™, and I’m done.

Thanks, I’m listening to the music over the credits now, just finished and was checking this thread.

Oooh, a spinoff! Cool!

I do love this series. I’ve heard it compared to spaghetti westerns. My comparison was the first Kung Fu series with David Carridine. I just wish it had more than 8 episodes a season.

Thanks, I missed that the first time around. Looks like Boba wasn’t the only one to put on a few pounds.

Please oh please let Ephant Mon and Amanaman show up in that one!

Doesn’t Kylo slaughter all of Luke’s students a few years after this?

It’s 15 years or so until that happens. I imagine Grogu will leave Luke’s Jedi academy long before then.

LOVED seeing Luke at the height of his powers – kind of like the Rogue One hallway scene, except for the good guys! Lots of fun. But without baby Yoda, can The Mandalorian continue?

That, and a little Django Unchained. Bill Burr losing his temper and gunning the Imperial officer down in the mess hall reminded me a lot of Leonardo DiCaprio finally getting his at the end of Django.

Why?

He’s 50ish now and developmentally a young preschooler at best. Maybe a human two year old developmentally. Of course his species might hit a period of rapid maturation at age 55 but there is no in world reason to think so. So assume he’s maybe something like the equal of a four year old by then. Call it even five or six.

Luke swore to protect his life. Why would he have sent that charge elsewhere still that immature?

Oh reasons could be made up but why expect so?

Count me in the meh group for this season finale. Too much stupid. No interest in the spinoff and unsure about tuning in next year … probably will but not anxiously awaiting.

I don’t think he’ll be at Luke’s academy in 15-20 years because it’s all but inevitable he somehow ends up back with Din. There’s no way they’re done with him yet.

THAT WAS AWESOME!!!
Everything about this episode is what Star Wars is all about.
The confrontation in the cantina was so good. Just hearing Bobbas voice set her off and it was great.
As soon as mando jettisoned the dark troopers I knew they’d be back.
I am surprised that Mof Gideon was captured so easy. I figured he would have more back up.
The moment that X Wing came into view…
I don’t know why but I just didn’t expect R2 to pop in like that. For as many of the books as I’ve read I should have seen it coming because he’s never far behind Luke. but I didn’t and it was a nice touch because I screamed lol!
I’m really curious as to where the series can go from here now that Gogru is with Luke. Of course next season will probably center around Mandalore.
That post credit scene…omg! I’m going to have to get me that book.

Holy crap that was an amazing episode. Season 2 was so much better than season one once it got rolling.

It had to be Luke that got Grogru he is collecting younglings and trying to rebuild the Jedi temple at this point it would make no sense for it to be anyone else. I hope that this also means that Kylo slaughters Grogru in another 15 years or so that would actually up the emotional stakes of him being an evil bastard. The CGI on Luke was great and I’m not certain if they brought Mark Hamill back or had someone else there. Watching Luke blow through the dark troopers was great too.

Hopefully, Grogru is gone forever since he was the worst part of the show. I have no idea where they are going next season if it will be the Book of Boba or how Mando will tie in with that if it wasn’t a spin off. My guess is it will be the reclamation of Mandolore since he has the darksaber now.

Ok,at this point, I think the Uncanny Valley thing is just genetic cause my nitpicking side said “Kill it with fire!!”

Amazing scene otherwise.
