I think he’s on Star Trek. Or CNN. I know it’s a fictional universe anyway.
Yeah, it isn’t like like he just randomly said “There’s so much shit coming out of her mouth that some going in might be a refreshing change!”
Palin compared debt to China to slavery, and Bashir pointed out what a ridiculous comparison it was by bringing up historical incidences where slaves were punished by having other slaves shit in their mouths and piss on their eyes. He then suggested that Palin would be an “outstanding candidate” for this kind of punishment.
Yeah, that went too far and he was right to apologize, IMHO. But lets see the whole picture.
You wanted to share something, not ask for facts or an opinion. You didn’t want a debate, and this is not an art or game topic, nor is it about this message board, a Straight Dope article, or home construction. Since it also isn’t a rant, it would go in MPSIMS. I’m not sure why you would find it so hard to figure out.
And if Obama is not the topic, I suggest you ask the thread to be moved there, else most people are going to discuss you and your mistake rather than the topic you actually wanted to discuss.
But someone should defecate on/in Sarah Palin.
Really. I don’t spend time there, really, so I’m not sure. But it doesn’t seem that complimenting someone for a public apology is “mundane” or “pointless”. I think IMHO might be better. But perhaps either is batter than the Pit, so thinks.
Mods, can you move this to IMHO?
He has a current events type show on MSNBC. There’s a link on the OP.
Darn, he’s actually on MSNBC. I guess I have to shelve that joke until CNN hires someone with the same last name as a Star Trek character. :smack:
Ha! You were actually correct for a change, MSNBC is as fictional as they get. And for that you give yourself a head smack?
He was right about shit coming out of her mouth, though. Credit where credit is due.
I don’t.
An apology that was mandated, as in apologize or get fired, is no apology. He either meant what he said or he didn’t. If he didn’t, he shouldn’t have said it in the first place. If he did, he should have the balls to stand behind his words, even if it meant losing his job over it.
I have to disagree. No one should shit on Sarah palin. She is too full of shit as it is.
IANAL, but doesn’t the equal-time law compel you also to provide a link of someone shitting on or in Sarah Palin?
But do you know this to be the case? I don’t. And given the fullness of what he said, I’m inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. And this is a guy who I really don’t like.
So, what was he apologizing for?
Never apologize! By Grabthar’s hammer, stand by your words!
NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER!
Hmm… I think given the stupidity of the OP (and Ms. Palin), a more appropriate choice for illustrating a “proper” Japanese apology is this.
I personally think Palin is a shitbag, so Bashir’s suggestion is more one of “topping off” than “crapping on”.
And, of course, Obama something.
Heh. The original headline:
The apology:
So, to be perfectly clear, Bashir does not believe that Sarah Palin should be defecated on, and regrets saying so; however, he is not willing at this time to agree that she should not be urinated on.
No, she should *not *be pissed on. If she is on fire.
It would certainly be an improvement.
I really enjoyed the original video, and feel confident that he meant what he said. No retraction can take back his sincerity. And I’m glad. Because that cunt will never apologize for putting slavery in the same ballpark as whatever tea party mumbo-jumbo she was blabbering about (I don’t remember, and I can’t watch the video at work).
