Masking up (again) in the MMP

I’m currently a bout a month ahead on my meds too, but since I tend to disappear into the wilds of Central Orygun for two or three weeks at a time it works for me, so I ain’t telling my pharmacist nuttin’.

I thought I had more to say, but I guess not.

Wifey and I had a long talk last night about whether we really want to have a garage sale, what with all the unvaccinated idjits running around. I finally declared that I’d almost be glad to give it all to charity and walk away. Almost. I’m taking the rest of my clothes, for instance.

I’m not sure we’ve come to a conclusion yet, though.

I finally got a call from the senior center resource people, whom I’d called to see if they could point me to a tax preparer or accountant or someone who could guide me through what need to be done. The resource person told me:

“You’ll learn enough through all this where you won’t need guidance.”
“Call your congressional rep and tell them you can’t get through to the IRS.”
“Just write the IRS a letter and tell them you can’t get through.”

None of this is helpful, so that was a waste of time.

I spent today scanning records.

Then my sister called. Her adult son has severe OCD and other issues, and it’s a heavy burden she’s been carrying for years. I wish I could do more than sympathize and offer some practical advice.

Today has been so crazy that I’m still in my PJ’s and haven’t eaten anything. I think I’ll rectify both and get some fresh air.

Bumba, I was married to someone who insisted on having garage sales every year. If you took the amount we earned and divided it by hours put in, I think we got about $3 an hour apiece most years. If you have some big ticket items, maybe just sell those individually and donate the rest? Just a thought.

And a very good thought it is too. I just spent an hour+ Cleaning up (for some values of clean) and photographing the saws to put them on Craigslist, and Wifey took pictures of the ‘morris’ chair. (It’s unmarked and possibly a (good) one-off by an amateur craftsman.)

I got an email from the company HR, with a PowerPoint attachments on COVID safety procedures. The body of the email had a list of things to do, such as wash you hands.

Yeah… I’m not gonna fall for that. For one thing, we don’t have an HR department.

Everyone has been advised to report the email as phishing.

VanGo, count me among the Mumpers who like mysteries.

Have fun at the festival BooFae!

Hugs to you shady.

I hope that everything goes well on your wife’s train trip bobsquare.

Moooooom, sounds like potty training was at 75% today. She’ll bring that metric up.

Irked, came home and walked Nelson. While we were over by the dumpster to toss the poo bag, his little girlfriend Charlie from building 11 came bounding up without her human attached. Once she and Nelson had a little romp, I picked her up and took her home. Her human, Ann, was just getting ready to step out the door to track her down when I knocked.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

The End is playing on the iPod.

Yay!

D’oh!

Thanks for the good wishes on the pending train trip but it is not until mis September (You get a good discount buying in advance).

I confess that I worry about it as I have been with her on previous trips. She is pretty capable and no doubt has allowed me to take charge. I am sure that she will have them organised.

We were OVER-staffed tonight (!!) so I was [del] kicked out [/del] cut loose about an hour early. I’ve been feeling poorly lately - somewhat better today, but that ain’t sayin’ much - so did not put up any arguments.

Came home, lay down gratefully for a bit, then decided I couldn’t continue being a complete lazy-ass, and also, that I’d like a bowl of cereal for dinner (plus I’m almost completely out of any rat food) thus necessitating the putting-on of pants for a quick trip to The Gettin’ Sto’ soon.

Meanwhile, I scooped the litter box, split a can of gooshy-food among the cats, and started refilling umpteen gazillion water bottles for the ratties.

Okay, off to get milk (for me) and brown rice, oatmeal, etc. for the critters before I lose all initiative. I should pick up more kibble, but that’s waaaayyyy on the opposite corner of a very BIG box store, and I don’t have the wherewithal tonight.

All y’all, take care.

So the Freecycled washer and dryer work. And so far it has only cost me $17 for a new drain hose, and a Lowes bucket. Anybody want a semi functional Washer dryer combo?

Well, if you over starch your shirt, you do have a stiff on your hands.

Howdy Y’all! Sloth once again reigned supreme. Except I did make chawklit chip cookies and sup, so there was some unslothfulness today. We never got any rain and Mr. Sunshine even poked his haid out a few times.

{{{shades}}} just cause it seems like you need a hug.

bobbob yay for gettin’ the train trip sorted out. Plus you did it and learned how to do it better next time. Not a bad thing at all!

MOOOOOOM yay for a mostly successful potty day for RoxStar.

Nellie many moons ago I lived up the street from a very nice lady who died. I attended her funeral and the very baby Pastor (I was a lot younger then and he was waaaaaay young!) told me just before the funeral that he had not had to do a thing to plan her funeral and that that was pretty much true for the funeral home as she had made plans years ago with ‘em to include prepayin’ and even selectin’ a casket and an outfit to be buried in which the funeral home kept all that time. He told me that she had told him several months ago to look in her Bible when the time came and there would be all the details about what she wanted at her funeral. He said she even included what she wanted him to say in her eulogy. Now that’s funeral prepared! This is also very rambly and very weird.

Milk has successfully been obtained, and I’m currently sitting on the back steps watching the sunset (and kitties being naughty) and listening to peaceful crickets (and the neighbor’s radio? Television?).

Got a healthy-looking pinwheel thingie at the deli for lunch tomorrow. The trick is to remember it!

Got multivitamins, too since I know a lot of my recent health stuff and general fatigue stems from eating little or not at all. I’m probably malnourished - taking a multi tonight with my bowl of Cheerios, and hopefully I’ll get some sleep.

Oh, I forgot to share with y’all: last night the register software went belly-up and for an hour or so, during dinner rush, we were CASH ONLY FIGURING SALES TAX WITH PAPER AND PENCIL and hoping for the best.
Briefly transported into the 1800’s, we were.

I’d snark about how the abysmal American education system was immediately on glaring display, but to be honest, my math skills ain’t all that, either.

Back from half a baseball game. We were winning 6-0 when FCD needed to go. The stadium seats aren’t all that comfy. I just checked the streaming of the game and it’s 7-2 in the 8th. So I’m thinking the Blue Crabs have another in the W column.

We stopped at Wawa on the way home so I could fill the car. We’ll be leaving around 7:45 tomorrow for Baltimore. His appt is at 10:15, but nasty weather is promised, so we’re leaving extra time. And that pretty much wraps up today.

Evening all. Soccer has been practiced, 9 of the 13 boys made it and…we’ve got some work to do, several have never played before, others haven’t played in years…so it’s like starting with a 7-8 year old team instead of a 10-11 year old one. Still, they seem like pretty good kids and the parents are nice, so we’ll manage.

Let the dishwasher do it’s thing while I was out and then had a burst of energy and cleaned out the ice chest in the refrigerator (lots of cubes were fused to the bottom). Burst of energy now gone, fixed some Mac-n-Cheese and will probably do little constructive work the rest of the evening.

nellie, the wheels of bureaucracy move exceedingly slowly. Hang in there.

swampy, I am planning to live forever (or die in the attempt), but planning for my demise is something I need to consider one of these days. Morbid perhaps, but better than trying to do it from scratch.

red, you have your good deed for the week done already; now you can be a miserable SOB to those who deserve it with a clear conscience…

Sunny, looking forward to your 2022 trip, since I’m planning something similar for 2023.

OK, onward into the night. All y’all take care.

Mrs. L.A. offered to loan my Jeep to one of her patients. Don’t know if they accepted. It’s fine with me.

Got four, maybe five hours of solid, deep sleep. Awoke to some truly vile farts - mine, I’ll admit, but it means stuff is moving through the ol’ digestive tract again.

Sorry if that was TMI but it’s a distinct sign of healing for me.

Currently having a hunter’s snack of dried sausage and cheese, and hoping to get a few more minutes of blessed, healing sleep.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. It’s August so that sounds about right. We shall lay in provisions and I, of course, must take care of some church janitor Junior Warden duties. We shall break the fast for sup with pancakes, bacon, and scrambled aigs. Haven’t done that in a looooooooong time so 'twill be good.

shoe I, for one, welcome fart posts. Or is that posts about farts. Fart post sounds like a fart that is a post which I’m pretty sure is not possible.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers, I suppose I must needs purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Woe!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Another good night of sleepage. The game that we left early ended at 7-3, so yay team! We’ve got tickets for next Tues - we shall see if we go and how long we last.

As for today, I looked up the Dr’s office last night - turns out it’s only about an hour anna half away, not 2 hours, so we don’t have to leave before 8. I’m letting FCD sleep a bit longer. Meanwhile, I’ve tended the critters and I’m deep into my morning routine. In about 30 minutes, I’ll hit the shower, so I have a bit of quiet time, assuming the critters stay chill.

I’ll take my tablet since I won’t be allowed in the office. So I’ll sit in the parking lot and read while they do what they need to do to him. Then, I suppose, we’ll find a place to have lunch before heading back home. Truly an exciting day in store… :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Wednesday!!

thanks all… although i popped off and made the situation worse … but people will just have to deal becuase im at the NFAG stage …

Mornin’ everyone.

It’s only Wednesday and this week is kicking my butt, but I’m almost to the weekend, so there’s that.

Friday I take Polar in for his surgery, so I’ll have to let my new acting boss know that I need to pop out for about 30 minutes to do that. Hopefully, that’s all it’ll take.

I hope all goes well for FCD’s appt, FCM.
