My family shit on Saturday turns out to be daytime family shit, so I’ll be showing up at 4[sub]2[/sub]0 at some point. I’ll be coming from a party, and I’ll probably be overdressed for the occasion, but hey, it’s a pretty dress.

[hyjack for Wonko and Billdo] Went to a Guster show on Tuesday. The pretended they were their own opening act by dressing up in Mullet wigs and acid dyed cut offs and called themselves the Peace Soliders. They sang a smattering of “Every Girl’s Crazy 'Bout a Sharp Dressed Man” and Christian rock songs. It was the godammed funniest thing I’ve ever seen, especially since the majority of the audience were 15 year old kids and they didn’t get it. Heh.[/hyjack]
::sigh:: I must go from a definite maybe to a definte no. The husband and I are going apartment hunting on all available weekends, in the not-so-wonderful* state of New Jersey, leaving behind our rent-stabilized 1-bedroom in Chelsea due to the November arrival of our first non-cat dependent. (Damn that’s a lot of hyphens!) Unless someone can find me a 2-bedroom rent-stabilized apartment in a decent neighborhood on the West Side for under $2000. Yeah, that’s what I thought.
My company is leaving Manhattan to move to the pit that is Newark. So I’ll be in Cranford or Maplewood or Montclair of some other town with a mass transit system every weekend in the near future. Oh well, some other time perhaps.
*Spoken by a life-long New Yorker, going through an attitude adjustment. No offense intended. Really.

Unfortunatly it looks like I will be unable to attend the fest. My car has decided it needs the money I was going to use so I will have to ship the fest due to lack of money

I can’t go, either. I’m having automotive difficulties that require money, so I’ll have to put in overtime on Saturday.
OK, I have to become a maybe. The 12th is my B-day and I was planning on going into NYC… But, this weekend some friends told me they planned to have a party at one of their houses. I can’t blow off my own party.
So, if I can get out of the party, I’ll be at the dopefest.

Could some nice person (Green Bean) offer to make name tags again? Not only did the name tags at the last NYC Dopefest help those of us (me) with not-so-good memories for names, but they also seemed to be a big hit with the crowd at the Idiot.
