May Flowers in the MMP

I have Iris and Peonies blooming in my garden at the moment. The Daffodils and Tulips are done, most of my Azaleas are about done.

Just thought I’d share.

Happy Moanday!

First! W00T!

I have no garden. I am up, caffeinated, and off to work

Second!
No garden for me as the endangered Key Deer would eat it all. I have one huge Travelers Palm and we have several Orchids on the porch. The Palm is so named because it orients itself North and South no matter how you plant it and it’s fronds hold a large amount of water for lost travelers to drink.

Awake, blurfish and still sleepy. We had thunderboomers right at bedtime that kept me awake until the wee hours. Tis gonna be a longgggggggggg day. Happy Moanday!

Dang_ bout to forget to share Today is 2 years I quit smoking!!

Doogiiooo no sheveling today?

Happy Moonday!

It’s a cloudy (and noisy) 57 degrees outside, supposed to be N.O.S. and in the mid 70s later.
The gas company is digging up the pipes on the other side of me today. Lots of truck noises, one of them needs a brake job, beeping, clanking, clunking, thudding, and I expect soon we’ll be serenaded by the jackhammers.

My azalea still has a few blooms on it. both of the neighbor’s out back still have a lot. My dogwood? lost it’s flowers a long time ago, the daffodils never came up. I have some kind of lily out front which is coming up, I guess it split because there are actually two of them, no flowers yet. My wild flowers are coming up. I’m sure some of them are weeds, but other than the dandelions and baby maple trees, I have no clue what anything is.

I slept horribly last night, waking up every hour or so, couldn’t get comfortable.
I may take a nap later.

What kind of orchids, Buttercup?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, fed, and even been doin’ some spiffin’ of da cave, so no YAWN. ‘Tis a N.O.S. 67 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 86 and N.O.S. for the day. I shall finish spiffin’ da cave and then who knows what else. Sup shall be grilled chikin strips, green beans, N.O.T. sallit and rolls. I could and should go over to the church house as there are maintenance issues (nuttin’ big) to deal with but may do that tomorrow. Or not. The buildin’s will still be standin’ whether or not I deal but I should be a good [del]church janitor[/del] and deal I suppose.

Evensong last night was magnificent! The choir performed a rendition of Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing that was awesome. Made an already much loved hymn for me even better. Our choir director/organist is leavin’ mid-June to go to seminary and will be sorely missed.

I have a fern, a rubber tree plant, some kind of vine thingy, and some kind of tropical plant thingy on the back porch that thrive in spite of me. I also have sago palms around the cee-mint pond and one in front of da cave that do well. I am not one to plant purty flowers and such in da yahd. Remember, my goal is not to have the worst lookin’ yahd in my 'hood.

OK, I suppose I should get back to doin’ stuff. Or not. Willy-nilly rules the day thus far.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

No garden for me. I’m a townhouse dweller. The big tree on the lawn usually blooms the last week in April. It is just budding. Last Saturday it snowed, followed by a week of rain. The weekend was lovely though. Sunny and 60s both days. Ariel was happy to roll in the mud, and I was not happy to clean her.

I’ve been at work for 30 minutes and am already annoyed.

Wow – closer to the top than usual. Cemetery flowers are partly in as of yesterday; one biggie to go. We’re dropping a few of the scattered ones and going more just for visits and cleanings and all – people we never met who were more in the lives of our dearly departed than our own. We used to do a couple light flowers (like a small cluster of say 4 plants) but it was just getting to be too much and the cost of flowers around here is bad. Just for three of the larger stones and for $14 a flat type flowers we dropped almost $50. Add dirt to keep the stones solid and more and it adds up. Plus the singles small plantings got nailed by the grounds crews too often during week-whacking. I keep thinking annuals/bulbs but -------- its just not something I’ve played with before.

Car ius still dripping; waiting for Subarus to call back. With all the recalls and stuff right now ------- they are kinda flooded. And since its a really small drip (like many of my coworkers) I am not sweating it much.

I don’t have a garden: I’ve got two pots with some agressively-growing dry-weather plants in Barcelona, and in Normandy some pots which aren’t really mine but are outside my window and which a couple weeks back had what I thought were narcissuses. This last week it’s been damn fucking cold, though; a lot of trees which were all flowery a few weeks ago are now looking extremely uncomfortable and un-flowery.
I’ve got my office all for myself this week, and wednesday is a holiday again (this time it’s the Ascension; for a country that’s all gung-ho about ‘secularity’ the French sure celebrate a lot of Catholic holidays). I’ve gotten more work done this morning than I normally do in a whole week.

I live on the 3rd floor, so no outdoor flowers for me. Well, I have managed to sneak a pot of violas and some sempervivums out there, but that’s it. I have to make do with house plants, and the allotment assumes position of woe. Mostly I grow vegetables at the allotment, as I don’t have space for a seat to sit and admire at this one, but I have a whole load of sweet williams about to come into flower right now, and a few other things.

Aside from a quick check through, I think this, assignment is finished. For those not keeping track, that’s the last one for this year. Hand in that tomorrow, do a presentation on my tiny plant project on Wednesday, and the year is all done bar the exams. I can hardly wait for the chance to do absolutely nothing without feeling like I should be working on something…

Well the dogwood is blooming, along with one of the azaleas and one of the rhodies. The camillia has come and gone. And the yard is chock full of bluebells, which **Wifey ** doesn’t like, I suppose 'cause she didn’t plant them, they’re volunteers. I likes 'em. Our new termater plants are perking up already, and Wifey says I can plant my pepperoncini in the red pot on the deck, so there’s that.

That’s about it.

No idea. All the foliage looks the same on all of them but they all have different color blooms. It seems at least one of them is always blooming. They are doing quiet well considering all we do is give them some water, preferring to use rain water when we can. Hubby has a friend that grows hundreds of orchids and he gave them to us.

Phalaenopsis Orchid Care Instructions (Moth Orchids) The flowers look like this.

My red azaleas seem to be quite happy this year, but the red bud tree was quite non-spectacular this year. I’ve checked other red bud trees, and they are all meh this year. Dogwoods seem to be muted too. My tulips didn’t do anything, but the daffodils were prolific, and the ever creeping Iris look like they will have a good year.

I fear my dogwood isn’t long for this world. It has more dead branches than live ones. Oh well…

We’ve got 2 more short runs of wire to pull, then we’ll be done with phase 1 of wiring. Being a pseudo-electrician isn’t a whole lot of fun. Oh my aching back!!!

Afternon all. Slept in a bit this morning, weather is 74F heading to 78. Have eaten and done a load of laundry and will have a soccer practice this afternoon. Life is good.

I don’t have any plants outside of the grass growing in my lawn, I have never been good with them and see no need for them to suffer under me. The trees planted by the original builder came out 15 years ago and the patio for flowers was paved with decorative concrete 2 years ago, so no place for them.

Congrats Nut on almost being done. You’ll find life is like that, however; you’ll be almost done with stuff for the next 60-70 years…

Phase 1 of wiring is done. Pics on FB. I’m beat…

Guess he didn’t wait for the caffeine to kick in?
I have a black thumb, but I shoot flowers. Last week, I shot, prolly a couple hundred lips, tu at a time.

I keep meaning to dig in the front “yard” - really just a flowerbed area - and make it all purtified.

It keeps not happening.
