I’m on-board with that, Nava!
Blah.
TVMan is upstairs napping and I’m not sleepy anymore. Maybe I’ll see what’s on Netflix. At least it was good news that woke me up, the Party Van is finally fixed!
Yay for a fixed party van! (does that mean it can’t have baby vans anymore?)
swampy - I went to get my hair done, then to the drugstore to get drugs, then for coffee, then to the slightly overpriced but politely full service station to feed the car, then to the bank to give them money to hold for me, then to a long (but not liquid) N.O.L. with friends, and now I am home. Does that satisfy your inquiring mind?
Off for some pool based sloth.
Off for some pool based sloth.
Yay for Tasha! Hope Polar feels better soon, too.
We surprised the heck out of my nephew last night. We told him we were going to visit an old college friend in Dayton. We said we were meeting him for dessert. (The only excuse we could think of since the concert started pretty late.) He was suitably grumpy at being forced to go and dragged his feet to the car. Then we got near the concert venue and there was traffic rerouted (because of the concert) and clearly a big event going on. And he just thought it was some kind of coincidence. He thought it was kind of odd that we had to park in a high school parking lot, but went along with it all. Reluctantly.
He was concerned when we got to the ticket takers that we needed tickets. My brother just said “Maybe they’ll let us in anyway.”
Once they scanned our tickets, he figured it out of course. When I showed him what was on the tickets, it took a little bit for him to let himself smile. But then he grinned and stayed happy for the rest of the evening.
If you haven’t been to a Weird Al concert and like him the least little bit, you should definitely go if you get the chance. It was awesome. The crowd was in a great mood and the show was really fun. There was lots of singing along and clapping and pretty much everyone grinned for the entire 2+ hours. And my nephew was one of the enthusiastic sing-alongers.
So now he’s an even bigger fan.
We went to the local movie theater to watch the Argentina-Germany. It was free, so, why not? Really good game. Nephew wasn’t all that thrilled, but he eventually decided to watch and enjoy. (Yes, pre-teen boys can be fun.)
Now…gotta go see about dinner…
Hugs all.
GT
Aww, shoot, he’s not coming anywhere near me!
Can you get to Columbus in the next week? He’ll be here on the 10th.
We went to Dayton-ish because my brother will be out of town next weekend.
We are about to have fried chicken (from the supermarket), carrots and celery, and chocolate fondue with fruit. (OK-microwaved chocolate, but, still…).
Off to finish getting dinner set up.

if the folks who used to follow Jerry, Phil, et al were (are) called Deadheads - what would one call someone who follows Al around the country?
I was wondering that last night myself,** rosie**. He very clearly has an adoring public and I’m sure there are a bunch who follow him around.
Weirdheads?
Howdy Y’all! Ogbligatroy semi-durknen psot. Just semi. Gotta go do Fourth stuff tomorrow after all.
doggio pool sloth is a good enough thing to say twice! ![]()
Just came back from a late dinner at Perkins. Yum!
Update on The Continuing Saga of Dipsey:
After being taken back by The Sisters on Monday , Dipsey showed up yesterday on our doorstep in a the pouring rain looking like a drowned rat. This morning Mr Rebo took him to the SPCA and laid it all out for them. We are now starting Official Proceedings to Adopt an Abandoned Dog. They said if we had him for 72 hours, he’s ours by law. We’re going on 30 hours right now. They scanned him for a chip, and he doesn’t have one.
It’s a holiday weekend, and we didn’t get to talk to an investigator, but we expect a call-back on Monday or Tuesday. We have the law on our side, and it doesn’t hurt that we filed a complaint immediately on Monday. Stay tuned…
Hugs, kisses and gropes for all!
Did he and the band do the vocal choreography at the end of Yoda? That’s a-frickin’-mazing!
Go Rebo! Get that dog!!!
Guess I killed the MMP this time. I had a really creepy dream. Sitting up for awhile with the tv and some cereal. Is the night shift around???
Good morning, all…and happy 4th July to those of you across the pond!
I was busy yesterday doing errands in the morning and then we headed over to Coventry for the Govida Festival. It’s a free music festival they have over the weekend so we went for the afternoon session and met up with friends when we got there. They only have the main stage and the rhythm tent for music but we managed to fit in quite a bit of excitement.
Saw the end of The Primitives on the main stage, followed by Senser, then off to the tent to watch Bentley Rhythm Ace, followed by a couple of beers, then back to the tent to watch The Herbaliser, more beers, and back to the tent to watch Cornershop who were pretty average and not very entertaining at all so we headed back out to our friends and watched a bit of Ash on the main stage before heading home. It was warm and sunny, the beers were from St George’s Brewery, the company was good, and the music was fab. Not bad for a freebie!
Today I’m doing laundry and sorting out some stuff in the garden. Some of the plants I’ve got growing in tubs need some support so I’ve got some sticks and twine to sort them out. Then there’s the weeding and grass-cutting. And more laundry.
kids one block over were playing with firecrackers and noisy sparklers and such from 8pm until well after SNL ended. So. I got very little sleep and the cat is a bit nervous this morning
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.
Rebo you go! Dipsey belongs at Rebohouse. He knows that! Thus he has adopted y’all!
As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, we’re headed up to the large and in charge town of Parrott, Jawja for Independence Day festivatin’. Should be fun but truth be told I’d rather have grilled out here at da cave and hung around the pool. Especially because it’s goin’ to be such a nice day. High in the upper 80s and low humidity which is unheard of in July around these parts.
Rosie somebody close by was shootin’ off fireworks last night till around midnightish. At that time of night I always picture drunk and possibly missin’ some fingers by mornin’.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY !!!
Rebo, shouldn’t it count for something when you cared for him for that extended period of time previously?
I’m up (duh) and contemplating making the usual breakfast. Then we’re off for the flea market scene and some roasted ox.
The firecrackers weren’t too bad here last night, but I guess it helps that we were sleeping in a room with a window air conditioner and it’s pretty loud by itself. I expect there will be more this evening.
