Yeps, that’s definitely one cool jersey! I heartily endorse it. Oh, and I forgot to say: congratulations, Hockey Monkey! May your married life go… skatingly
MOG wanted some assistance with redoin’ her farm in Farmville. One never knows what one may be called upon to do does one. :dubious: Anywho, she’s happily fixin’ up her farm, frozen fuzzy navel in one hand whilst doin’ so.
Nuttin’ like playin’ Farmville and likkerin’ up, right?
Congrats Hockey Monkey!!
{{**rigs **and kitty}}
Glad you’re having fun, kai!
Last night I needed to use up some ricotta that was in the fridge, and pasta seemed like the obvious choice. I remembered that there was one last container of pesto from last summer, which would also be good to use up before this summer’s crop of basil comes in. I mixed the pesto into the ricotta and tasted it. “Hmm… that tastes a little funny. Like coriander. And cilantro. Ohmygosh! That wasn’t pesto! It was chermoula. Oops.” It tasted pretty good in the end with peas and toasted walnuts. But totally not what I was expecting!
rigs, kitty update? Hugs.
Am Nat-free for most of today and have been tearing around Getting Things Done.
My garden is not dead. I am surprised. I may even get vegetables out of it.
I made Indian Shepherd’s Pie a few nights ago- keema (ground beef curry) with mashed potatoes and cheddar on top. It was a huge hit, so I made a big batch of keema and froze it in portions so I can do a nearly-effortless dinner some time when I feel stumped.
We’re supposed to have pot-roast lamb and roast veg for dinner tonight. If the lamb is done by dinnertime. Fingers crossed.
I am frustrated with people and cars and their relationship to each other today. Grr
doggio, you too! Truly a man of cinematic taste! Oh, how I love that movie!
Today in my new office, I finished cleaning the fridge, then I cleaned the gross, disgusting microwave. I did the old nuke-a-mug-of-water steam clean trick. Tomorrow, I move my computer and my desk chair from the 2nd floor to the 1st, and I’ll be back in the windowless wonderland… Oh well.
We’re pretty much packed for the trip. We’ll finish packing the toiletries in the morning. I’m thinking I’ll probably leave work early so we’ll have a little more time to visit with my mom. I’ve printed off the directions to our hotels and the boat. We’ll wing it for the rest.
Bad Chinese for supper tonight. Almost vacation time!!! <happy dance>
I’ve applied to another job I’d really like, so it’s appendage crossing time.
Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed ShinyCat.
We did burgers and N.O.T. tots for dindin. See, I was gettin’ some stuff out of the freezer when a bag of N.O.T. tots fell out on my foot. So, bein’ as it was almost like fate and all, I asked MOG which she would prefer, fries or tots. When she said she couldn’t even remember the last time she had N.O.T. tots I then decided it was indeed fate and so tots it was! I have a dinner fate instead of a dinner fairy.
Back from Bad Chinese. Ready for vacation, but I still have to go into the office in the morning. ugh. Last days before vacation really suck!
No more whining. I’m going to finish reading my funnies, then go knit.
Kisses all around! *** MWAH!!***
Car is fixed. Party van still inop.
Congratz to PuckMonk!
More good news about Brother - they’re sending HOME on Friday!
Well I survived my unexpected first day of the weekend. It was far easier to take off a day earlier than to figure out how to get my sizeable ass to work without the Foomobile. I have a rental for next week, and will putt around Cottonfield County in my truck in the interim.
Can anyone explain to me a $76 cover charge to Wally*World when I went to pick up a $3 prescription? It’s not even Tar-zhay, fer crying out loud…
Fixed my mower tonight. I’m amazed at how much better it does with two blades underneath than just one. :smack:
Bad Chinese for lunch, at a new joint. It was meh.
Tomorrow will be a day at the Outer Banks. w00t!!!
Congrats Hockey Monkey! That is wonderful news!
This week has been a bear of a week.
All day today, I kept thinking it was Thursdsay, and was soooo happy I didn’t have to go into work tomorrow. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, I realized today was only Wednesday. Bah!
We adopted another dog on Monday night. She’s a black lab mix. Things seemed a little iffy the first night, but are much better now. Last night, I was watching TV in my big chair when Brandi jumped up on me and curled up in the crook of my left arm, with her head resting just below my neck and her legs extending down to my thighs. Then, Polar jumped up on top of me and was lying down the entire length of me with his head resting in the crook of my neck. Yup, over a 100 pounds of dog on top of me. It was nice!
I got lots of doggy kisses too.
I don’t really have much else going on. Just tired and sick of work.
Hugs, smooches and gropes to the lot of you!
Aww Taters, lots of doggy kisses! Congrats on the new pup too!!
BooFae, I await fascinator pics with bated breath! I love hats, esp. that style, and boy howdy, take a look at some from the 30s and 40s!
Swampy, thanks for the chuckle and the picture I got in my haid of MOG playing on Farmville while you likkered her up! OMG LOL!!! I didn’t really mean it that way either, but boy did it tickle me.
My primary care doc referred me to the vascular docs today - the leg ulcer isn’t healing still and needs further intervention. I’m back on antibiotics also, with a different bandage (dry to wet? It’s gauze pads with bacitracin). Please keep me in your prayers, folks–you’ve got the healing vibes!
Fingers crossed for you, Silver.
Only one more day to go this week until 4 day weekend!! Woot!
Kitty Update:
Stable, but essentially unchanged. Still not eating; bruise is spreading out, not quite as much blood in the urine now. She is on “cage-rest” which cracks me up because humans have “bedrest”. Vets want to keep her at least another 24 hours to watch to make sure the bruise has not left a thrombus that could strangle the blood supply to the bladder. Eek.
In other news, #2 son leaves for a month with my parents tomorrow. I’ll miss the bugger.
I read, but didn’t retain much except the good wishes for Natasha the Wonder Cat. Thank you all. The vet and I think she fell out of a small tree onto the top of a chain link fence (there are such trees and fence right across my street).
Smokey sends healing purrrrrrs to Tasha
Loves and scritches to your kitty, rigs. A hug to you too! Yeah, yeah, you don’t go in for all the mushy stuff, but sometimes hugs are required.
Worked, then went out for dinner at the Greek place.
Me too.
{{{{rigs and Tasha}}}}
Taters, I love a doggie love pile on.
{{{{Herbs}}}}}}
: crosses all sorts of things for ShinyCat :
One more day and 10 days off!
ETA: i’m glad Tasha is doing better.
Yay for doggy kisses!
Boo for stupid neighbor who picked up Dipsey again, after a week at my house. We reported them to the SPCA - dunno how much good it will do. They sneak when we’re not home, knowing dad won’t confront them on their behavior.
What the hell is UP with those idiots, **rebo? **
What a bunch of selfish gits. It’s obvious poor Dipsey hates it there, you’d think they’d let him to go home where it’s obvious he’s loved by the humans and canines alike.
Good luck with the SPCA.
Which reminds me, I have to head down to the Humane Society on Friday and pick up a license for Brandi. She’s not licensed here and I’m not entirely sure she was licensed in her former home.
