Herbs - as expected, the camera battery was flat so I have charged it up and taken photos which I will be uploading tonight when I get home again. I also took some shots of an interesting bit of building going on a couple of doors down the street. Well, it’s not exactly down the street, more up in the air. I am going to send them to the council’s plannign office because I’m sure they could do with a laugh.
Since it was Wednesday, it was pub night. We went to the Station at Codsall which is a very nice little pub that has a different bunch of guest real ales every week. Last night they had York Brewery’s Guzzler so I had some of that. It was a fine evening so we sat outside and conversations were occasionally interrupted by passing trains. Yes, strangely enough, the Station pub is on the station and the beer garden is right by the tracks.
Appendages crossed for folks and mogs…and hugs for rigs, even though she doesn’t go in for that kind of stuff.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Plans today include a haircut and possibly yahd work if’n it does not rain as promised. Looks all rainified out right now like it could any minute.
rigs continued healin’ thoughts and prayers for Tasha
Taters yay for doggy kisses and lovin’! Glad they’re gettin’ along.
Herbs good healin’ vibes and prayers to you too.
Rosie yay for brother!
Time for more caffiene and a look around elsewheres on the intertoobz.
I’ve been pretty blah this morning. I’m sitting waiting to deliver breakfast before I go back and make lunch. On the way here I had a mini-meltdown thinking about my grandparents. The only good thing I can say about them both having Alzheimer’s is that at least one won’t end up having to care for the other. Other than that it is so much more upsetting because as a child we all lived in the same house and they cared for my great-grandma who had it, too. So they already know where they’re heading.
Today feels like Saturday to me. Canada Day and all. Mr. Lissar and Attacks Husband are home, Quasi-Daughter just got here, Mr. Lissar and Gnat left to watch the parade one street north of us.
I should do chores, but instead I think I’ll just sit for a minute and then forage for Second Breakfast.
Forgot to say Congrats, Monkey!
Continuing prayers and good thoughts for the kitty.
Oh, and if anyone could pray or send good vibes, Mr. Lissar’s brother (married to and separated from Horrible Redneck Girl) lost his job and we’re very concerned because he’s gone into medium-level depression and has been suicidal in the recent past. So we’re worried about him.
Li-Li, I’m sorry for your BiL’s troubles. Good thoughts headed his way.
I’m at work and have a serious case of the donwannas. I need to start the data mining for yet another business case analysis, but am feeling sort of overwhelmed by the whole thing and just can’t seem to knuckle down and get it started. I’m sure I’ll get going on it within the hour.
Frankly, I’m just sort of pissed about it. It seems I always get stuck with the BCAs and with the way my supervisor has decided split out the workload for me and the other senior analyst here, I seem to have the bulk of it. I have the most difficult departments/services and the most difficult people to work with. I also have the larger departments and more complicated sub-specialty services. The list of clinics I am responsible for starts on line 14 of a spreadsheet and ends on line 79. The other analyst has about 20 less clinics/services. Do you sense a theme here?
Bah! I plan to drink hearty this weekend and put it all out of my mind.
Tomorrow, I take Polar in for his rabies shot and I’ll pick up a license for Brandi too. I think, if there’s time, I’m going to treat myself to a pedicure too.
Saturday, my daughter and her boyfriend are coming down to BBQ with us and some friends may come over too. Sunday, we’re going to another friend’s place to BBQ.
Hugs and smooches to all.
Sending good vibes for kitty in hopes today is a better day for little Tasha.
I have been to Lowe’s, the dry cleaner’s, gotten a haircut and bought another canteloupe. It’s rainyish so no yahd work.
I have cheese and butter softenin’ to make cheese thangs for the Fourth. I promised I’d bring those and baked beans. We’re Independence Dayin’ in Parrott cause we got invitated. I’d rather spend it at the pool but couldn’t say no, so to Parrott we will go. I have been promised ribs and beer so there’s that I suppose.
Our country reeks of trees
Our yaks are really large
And they smell like rotting beef carcasses…
And we have to clean-up after them
And our saddle sores are the best.
We proudly wear women’s clothing.
And searing sand blows up our skirts.
And buzzards, they soar overhead.
And poisonous snakes devour us whole.
Our bones will bleach in the sun.
And we will probably go to * * * *.
And that is our great reward
For being the - uh - roy-yal
Canadian kilted yaksmen

(You got your sense of Canada and I got mine. Partly from Bob and Doug McKenzie. )
Ruble if that were the Canadian national anthem I’d so move to Canada cold and all just so I could sing it and tell people that’s my national anthem!
It’s stopped bein’ rainyish. I say “ish” cause it’s just sorta rainin’. Nuttin’ steady. Right now it’s sorta sunny but could cloud back up and rain again.
Thus, I do believe I shall go and make cheese thangs.
Cheese thangs are made. Even got some to munch on Sattidy whilst pool loungin’. That is provided I keep 'em hidden from OYKW 'twixt now and Sattidy.
Dindin tonight is fried chicken laigs and livers, N.O.H. rice and field peas. Possibly bizkits but maybe not cause I’s tahred of bakin’ up things right now.
As promised, herbs, here is a pic of my fancy headgear. It’s actually about the size of my hand so it’s not a huge creation but it’s sufficiently feathery to count as a total bit of frippery.
While I’m on the subject of photos, have a look through this collection and see if you can work out what it’s going to be when it’s finished. Please bear in mind that the photos were taking from my upstairs window so this is kind of like a flying construction. Also, and I’m afraid I can’t get a pic of it to show you the full horrors, it’s built on top of a similar ground-level structure. My friend charitably said they were showcasing their products, I told her they were just using up leftovers.
Just stopping in while at Panera. Cable people are due between 7:00 and 9:00. It is decidedly NOT FUN to be without intertoobz. Only come over to Panera because I told brother I’d e-mail him something before remembering that I couldn’t do so from home.
Hope to check in with healed connection later tonight.
Ummm… BooFae a solarium? Do keep us informed! My neighbors have been pretty borin’ lately so I need to get my neighborhood excitement vicariously at the moment.
I’m back with a very nice, shiny new internet connection, primarily because I got me a new router.
The phone support at my ISP leaves something to be desired, as they could have apparently remedied my problem by having me unplug everything and completely start over again. I thought she did, but I think she needed to have me unplug the network cable between the computer and the modem as well as re-starting the modem. At least the cable guy was cute.
Congrats on the engagement,** Puck**! Is this the guy you started seeing again a ways back? Congrats on avoiding the Bridezilla scene!
Love the headgear, BooFae!
Well, I’ve been cleaning and weeding and generally doing non-fun stuff since 5:30, so I think I’ll go out for a bit of a walk.
