Apparently there’s something wrong with my laptop’s power supply. I though it was just time for me to cash in on my ‘free’ battery with warranty so I did, but now the new battery appears to only last 15 minutes. :dubious:

Just got back from walking two doggies, in the rain. It was refreshing! We met some neighbors with a cutie-patootie 8 month old boxer, and I let Lucy romp with him for a bit. they’re both smelling pretty rankly of wet dog!
My vaca will have to start a bit later - I need to go in tomorrow and finish setting up some drawings so I can have a good hand-off. I wish nobody would touch my stuff, but that probably won’t happen.

I really need to go to bed because there’s alot of stuff going on tomorrow. But just as I was getting ready to get off the computer I saw that I sold another necklace on Etsy and now I’m too happy/excited to go to sleep! (Yes, it’s the little things…)

They changed their minds - Brother will not be going home tomorrow, he will, however, be going to rehab. They forgot he lives alone. :rolleyes:

Today was the retirement party - no speeches, etc. - of our Office Head. They had pizza, wings, fruit & cheese, beer, wine, and the band played almost continuously. I think a grand time was had by all (I only drank water, ftr!) and loved the band, in which 3 co-workers play. They did a few (early) Beatles covers and I really loved that!!
Good thoughts and prayers going out to Lili’s BIL and to Rosie’s brother, healing ones as well. And to anyone else, for that matter.

Second child syndrome: things that were remarkable about Gnat, because LiLi hadn’t seen them before, are now normal. Only things in which 2.child behaves very differently from 1.child are remarked upon. So, no news about 2.child means “2.child is doing fine”.
For The Nephew, his parental units have so many pictures and recordings of his first year it’s scary. I mean, do you need to record the first 60 times you bath your kid? Seriously? For the Niece, there’s more pictures taken by uncles and grandmother than by the parental units - and note that two of the three uncle/aunts don’t even live in the same town.

I’m headed up to my grandparents’ tomorrow until Tuesday. I may go through internet withdrawal - they don’t even have a computer.
On the other hand, I’m hoping to get a lot of writing and sewing done.
I’m thinking it’s meant to be a convervatory or somesuch. The property belongs to a small company that makes double-glazed windows etc so the entire construction is made of what appear to be leftover bits of stuff. Some of the frames are uPVC, some are light brown wood and some are dark brown. Sadly, since I’ve been unable to get a shot of the downstairs part of the structure, you can’t fully appreciate the delights of it. That particular bit is similarly made up of an assortment of frames, but each of those has a different style of glass in it. It’s truly a wonder to behold.
Good news on the cat too, my pair celebrated by having a big fight this morning and leaving me with a landing covered in chunks of white fur. I guess that means Ophie lost.

I called the Apple Store just for the heck of it and had to wait twenty minutes on hold to find out a) they have none of the new i-phones, b) they don’t know where I could get one, and, c) any phones they get in will go to a priority list. I so hate being a follower but I want one.
