Moanday Means A New MMP

I wouldn’t care so much about the cat tormenting the dog if the cat didn’t yowl like he is being killed when the dog pounces on him and chews on his head. How many times does the dog have to use you as a chew toy before you figure out that teasing the dog is not a good idea?

Tomorrow’s supper is simmering away on the stove. In about 20 minutes, I’ll turn it off and let it cool for the fridge. Meanwhile, I just ate the half poke chop left over from the other day and a bowl full of cherries. Short term chillage before emptying the dishwasher and doing the dirty dishes I just created.

Good times!

We’re coming up on that time of year when I wish I had a nice cannon…loaded with grape shot.

I mowed the dandy-lions yesterday. Didn’t have to, but the yard looks a lot nicer now and tomorrow is ‘yard debris’ pickup, so now we’ve got something to put out for the picker-uppers.

Wifey will be home this evening so I need to plan something for dinner that will fit in with her diet, if she’s still on it. I’ve been eating tuna noodle casserole, ‘cause I like it and she doesn’t, but now I’ve gotta behave. I should see if I can find some steaks in the freezer. This has the added benefit of allowing me to cook on the grill instead of the stove. It’s supposed to get hot today. 86F they’re sayin’.

Dunno if I said so here, or elsewhere, before, but congratulations ** Bobbio!!**

Me and a bunch of friends had a surprise party for our wind orchestra conductor last night! Much fun was had. And every single helium balloon had been opened and had had the helium sucked out of it by the end of the night (to do the funny voice thing.) Lots of presents, laughs, and good times.

Well, looks like I deflated this MMP like the balloons.

Nah. This lot is just as full of gas as they ever were. :stuck_out_tongue:

We are all embarrassed to offer our common, uninteresting posts in comparison to you erudite, beautifully composed offerings. :frowning:

Howdy Y’all! We have lazed all afternoon. Too hawt to do anything else. OK, I did haul the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. I also hauled the neighbor’s biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash an all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow as she is out of town and I am a nice neighbor, dammit!

Back from not-too-terrible Chinese for supper. I’m done for the day - I’m nearly finished with a shawl, and with luck, it’ll be complete before I go to bed.

We had a brief round of t-boomers and rain, and now it feels less humid. It’s also cooled a bit. So yay!

Back to work tomorrow. rah. :stuck_out_tongue:

Back from Nashville and the dog park. The cabbage rolls were a hit (sounds like I flung a craving on you Moooom. :stuck_out_tongue: That’s OK, they’re good and economical) and we got the first of the big board meetings over with. There will be several more between now and September, as the mother ship is returning to just running itself rather than the international organization. Given that it’s in the UK, the North American side if it will likely reincorporate and proceed much in the same manner as before. We’ll be kind of like the Anglican/Episcopal communion in that respect. Same origins, same mission, different countries.

Work was OK, got things done. It’s hotter than Satan’s armpit. 44 days till Convention.

What he said, Midget.
Wait…
Did I…
agree with…
Flytrap?:eek::confused:
What did I put in my martini?:dubious:

sari, Alex Catt likes to like Gordie’s foot. This is the worst thing on Earth, and likely to make him snap and chew her face off at some point.

Work had a call-them-all for today and I decided to do a single. Other than that more rain but tomorrow is supposed to be nice. Caught up on unpacking and laundry so I’m feeling very adult. The lawn ----------- can wait.

Dunno if you guys are being sarcastic about the quality of my posts or not. Kind of hard to tell on the internet sometimes, plus sometimes autistic people have a hard time telling if someone’s joking around.

I don’t believe that they’re joking emily.

I do like giving people the benefit of the doubt.
Actually, saying that in this context now makes it look like I’m bragging about the quality of my posts. Oh my.
Also, the tone of my previous post wasn’t meant to be grouchy, though it may look like that. (The whole thing about not being able to hear someone’s tone of voice when reading their writing online.)

I plan to visit my dad’s house tomorrow and try to work on some music.

I’m not being sarcastic, I enjoy reading your posts.

Thanks.

I should probably eat something and then go to bed. See you all in the next MMP.

I laid it on a bit heavy, but you are one of the most enjoyable people on the Monday Morning Post. Now, that doesn’t top Rosie, no one could do that.

Now, a song of my youth, often heard on Beaker Street, a late night AM radio show from Little Rock station KAAY in the 1960s and 70s.

Cindy’s crying.

I am old. :dubious:

Can’t do that w/ my helium balloons; too dangerous.

Made it home seconds before the thunderstorm. It was already raining, but not deluging. Downloading pics; took very, very, very many, & some way cool video, too.

Need to think about dinner at some point.

A cousin of mine was going through a box of stuff that belonged to her mother, my dad’s older sister. She found three very old photographs, none of which I’d ever seen, taken in the early 30’s. Two had my grandmother and her siblings, and one was of three children. The littlest boy was my father. He looks to me to be about three, but certainly no more than four years old. So that makes the picture the oldest surviving picture taken of my father. He’s got a mop of hair that makes him look like the one boy from The Little Rascals.

There is a family portrait taken of my dad’s family. He looks to be about five, and is sitting between his parents, with his five older siblings standing behind them. That picture may be the last picture surviving of my grandfather, as he died in 1935, when my dad was seven.

It really makes me want to go back in time and have seen that family when they were younger than I remember them.
