I had no idea it was a str8 bar. I haven’t been in the loop, really - the only place I ever go is Q-Zone.
Yes, the weekend of Aug. 24, with fun activities starting Friday Aug. 23 (that’s when lno will be arriving - hopefully not too late in the day - and hopefully Maeglin as well). I think Drugstore is good for Friday because if I’m held up waiting for either to arrive, we can join everyone there even if it’s kind of late.
A lot of bars, restaurants, and tourist attractions accept American money, but I don’t know about stores.
Why not just exchange money when you get here (if you end up coming)? You can probably even withdraw from ATMs. Whenever I visit NYC I never had a problem withdrawing American money from a bank ATM (not those stand-alone rip-off ATMs).

I’m not a guarantee to arrive that Friday - I may be roadtripping across the east coast the week prior, so it may be Thursday, it may be Saturday, or I may be flying into Dorval someday in November. Details as events warrant.

I’m up for it, but Barbarian won’t be online, so won’t be able to get in touch with us, lest he/she goes to some internet cafe or something. Somebody email him/her! (I’m too lazy, and tired, dealing with the poltergeist in my apartment.)
We could all still get together, though. The 28th is my payday. We could discuss what we want to do in August.
Well, since he is flying in on Monday and he specified that he wouldn’t be online after this weekend (bolding mine), he can still get in touch with us. I’m willing to e-mail him, but I don’t want to disturb an admin for such a mundane reason (I believe they have lives too).
He posted that last week, so I figured it meant he wouldn’t be online this weekend. Anyway, you can do a search to find his email.
I’m still up for a mini-MontrealDope this weekend, though. Also, matt_mcl will be leaving for Spain shortly thereafter, so it would be a nice send-off for him.
